I'd prefer to stick with the Inquisitor. There's a lot of questions left unanswered, especially in regards to Solas. I would hate to see him as the villain in DA4 with only a passing remark to the Inquisitor. Also, we could still have some DLC that expanded on the Inquisitor's background and future. I also don't want the Inquisitor to just "disappear" like the Warden and Hawke. Lame.

Then leave the Inquisitor in the dust. I could use a more down to earth story in DA4

as much as i get attached to the protagonists over time, i'd rather play new protagonists per game.

I say yes. I like new characters to build up each game. I wouldn't mind an expansion pack or two of inquisition with my quizzy tho.

I look foreward to a new one for dragon age 4 and them keeping in line with the over all theme for the dragon age titles, its not about the pc its about the world in the end and its story.

Not a new protagonist but a party containing
1) The Warden
2) Hawke
3) The Inquisitor
4) Dog's daughter
5) NOT Varric ![]()

A few DLC adventures set post game to wrap up some loose ends would be nice.

That's my hope. I'd prefer that to constant escalation.

I like the Inquisitor and all, but I'd like to do something new with the next game.

I'd prefer a new protagonist. That is the way the game has been set-up so far...and to be honest, unless the Inquisitor loses everything and has to start alone and without her/his power-base...the Inquisitor is too over-powered to be the protagonist going forward (and even if they do lose everything, the whole Herald thing is sort of...too...big?). Shepard built her/himself up over the games. Yes, they were a Specter - but that basically meant some weapons and a ship - in ME1 and ME2 they are laughed out of any position of importance and are on the 'out'. The Inquisitor is treated with reverence from the get-go even if they are a qunari mage.
I'd rather keep having a new PC and getting to see their story in each game (and tying it into the world we've built).

I just want them to wrap up the Inquisitor's story in some fashion, since it doesn't quite feel finished at the end of DAI. Whether that means DLC or a direct sequel, as long as it's a good conclusion to their story, I'm fine with it.
The most likely thing seems to be some DLC featuring the Inquisitor and then on to the next game with a new protagonist. There are tons of references in-game to the Inquisition moving on after the thing with the breach, laying down their swords, fading into the background, etc. which all imply that it's not going to be plot-central after this game.
However, I'm sure Bioware could also make a great game with the Inquisitor as the main character again. It could be an interesting change of pace to start from a position of power rather than "from the beginning", and who knows how that position might change over the course of another game's story? ![]()

New protagonist, new party members please. If possible, I'd have the next DA as different from DA:I in some aspects as possible.
Maybe set it in the Anderfels, where Weisshaupt has suddenly gone silent. Make the antagonist a mortal, a human, maybe the First Warden who has decided it's time to rule the country not just from behind the scene. Give the antagonist a "magnificent bastard" personality, and make the ending so that even when the protagonist wins, s/he is still a wandering adventurer. Some bad things have been averted, and the rest of the world will likely never know.
As few references to previous characters as possible. A fresh tale of adventure. Way less fetch quests. (and the return of tactics, and better hitboxes ffs!

They could pull a Mass Effect and double the level cap, then let you transport the last over.
Only if they fix the PC controls so you can use more than 8 abilities in a combat. Or, at the very least, assemble preset selections of abilities that you can choose depending on what kind of fight you're getting into ("Oh, that's a bunch of mages up ahead. Better choose my preset that's heavy on the AoE stuff" "Eep, a dragon! Time to use the high DPS preset!" Or similar).

Inquisition felt more like just the beginning of a story, and I would much rather play the Inquisitor again, rather than a new protagonist. However, Bioware has stated on multiple occasions that each game will star a new protagonist, alas.
In such case, the most we can hope for is a full-fledged expansion, which I would truly love to see.
I haven't really been too active in the Dragon age fan base so I have yet to see the whole, "new protag every game". Does a comment like that even exist?
Anyway I think we should continue as the Inquisitor. I honestly don't feel like starting all over for a fourth time in a row. I like my character, I like the order I built, I want to continue building it, and I want to properly tie up all those loose ends. What I don't want is a cameo appearance or a letter telling me to "keep up the good work - from the Inquisitor."
With all of that being said they may decide to just keep making new protagonists for new players

DA is a game where the events take place in any corner of the world.
Playing with the same protagonist every time something happens feels a bit of a stretch, I mean, there is a limit of how much you can travel to be at that place, at that exact moment.
Having different PoVs not only avoids this issue, but it also makes the saga feel bigger, by seeing a lot of new characters and locations on every entry. A good example of this is A Song of Ice and Fire.
A Song of Ice and Fire jumps between multiple characters in a single book. For Dragon Age to be the same you'd need to be able to play multiple characters in a single game.
Not only that but how does it not make sense? What's to stop the Inquisition from deciding that it wants to spread to the North to help the North with it's problems?

There's a limit on how far an organization can stretch its hands, it can't be everywhere. Unless you want another Cerberus, who since post-ME2 became something tiresome to see, always present with a hand in every matter on the ME universe.
Also, the Inquisition is pretty much an army without a country, and moving said army around like they own the place is a good way to earn enemies.
We had green light to spread around Orlais and Ferelden because it was the end of the world. Now? Good luck trying to meddle with another's territory without making it look like an invasion.

Man, if they do this, I hope the inquisitor get's an option to undergo some sort of apotheosis and become Solas' immortal god-hero-lover. Lol, just kidding..
....But still.. It would be pretty darn great. Think about it.
