Everything is seems to be immune to any type of spell you cast , you have to worry about your mana and your health bar (unlike a warrior were your most importent bar is your health , stamina is eeeh it recharges on it's own).

Enemies have specific resistances on nightmare - more info here. The biggest pain on nightmare is friendly fire, you have to be very careful when using abilities (mage or not).

Nothing is immune to physical damage - exploit it.
