The ending made me cry, after 120 hours....... this whas it. Back in skyhold Varric didnt even talk to me.............

Sieging Skyhold is pointless for Cory, especially when he has no army.

Skyhold is not sitting on top of lyirum, Haven is

If he has an army however, I imagine the game would pan out like this...

He would attack all the forts. (Defensibility is depended on the numbers of agents!)

His dragon and army would army would attack Skyhold, we'd need a team to defend skyhold and kill the dragon.

And a team to carve the way to haven... and then cory fight!

See, I'm torn on the ending. When I look at it as a gamer I'm really disappointed nothing we did in the lead-up changes anything about it - I avoided it for sooo long and it's just a basic boss fight? Meh.

When I look at it as a story, though, I'm mostly intensely amused that after a story about screw-ups screwing up (DA2) we get the story about actual competent adults being actual competent adults who respond to the bad guy turning up and showing his knees by shrugging, methodically kneecapping him and then finishing up by punching him in the face.

Well ending was bad but at least it wasn't depressing, nonsensical and bad so there is a improvement after ME3

Ah so it's Tales of Symphonia 2 all over again.

Wait wait what? There's a Tales of Symphonia 2?

How... did I miss that?

Oh that's right, I don't have a PS3 or Wii.

It's because of this I'm struggling to get through my second play through.. I put about 90 hours into my first and in the end it kind of didn't matter what I did or didn't do.. I feel like i'll do the stroy parts again but looking for materials and upgrading skyhold and all that running aound was pointless.

Available Skyhold upgrades should have been more extensive and strategically motivated.  For example, the player might have gathered enough resources to build ballistas to counter dragon attacks.

+1. This also should have unlocked a repeatable war table operation "Go scrape some tier four dragonbone/scale/skin off the walls"

I'm holding out hope that Skyhold will become relevant in one of the DLC's.

I just have the sense that this whole first "episode" is a prelude to "more epic" events and finishes.

I recall right before the final battle, Cullen says something like "I'll see to Skyhold's defenses".  I think that theme was repeated several times throughout the game.  Just more fuel to the feeling that the ending was not as originally intended.

Overall, I agree. I wonder how much content didn't make the cut. I still really like the game, but after all those epic story sequences, a short ending with an incredibly easy final fight left a lot to be desired. I wonder if its reasonable to hope that Doom Upon All The World will get more content in DLC.

Edit: Doom Upon All The World should have been on par in epicness with In Your Heart Shall Burn, if not even more so. It was not. And it isn't even that what was there was bad (epic dragon fight, Corypheus crying out, getting his jaw dislocated, returning to Skyhold, talking to your peeps and LI, post credit scene, all great), it just didn't live up to the expectation established by previous story missions. Too short, too easy.

Cautiously hoping for DLC that addresses this.

Whith the Quizy, Superman and Batman in the Cafe.

Supes: "Dude. Duuuude! It took you *100* hours to beat Cory? Seriously?  I'd have found him with my x-ray vision and then tossed him onto the moon. Maybe an hour tops."

Bats: "I'd have taken him down in ten minutes. You know why?"

Supes: <groans> "because you're ..."

Bats: "Because I'm BAT-MAN!"

When patch two arrived, part of the statement made by bioware is that the will be adding content to the game they could not due to time constraints. I'm guessing they might be talking about the final battle.
Here is to hoping to a free extended cut dlc that helps the ending.

First playthrough took 150 hours and was about 99% complete.  Finished second playthrough in 20 hours.  Beat Corypheshits with level 14 knight enchanter and crap gear.  I wish BW would have put as much effort into the main story and they did the myriad romance stories.

I really wish they would doo that, romance crap is taking too many resources. I do not even care if they cut them out, as i rather a have fleshed out game than crappy optional crappy romances.
