My boyfriend asked me to get an RPG for his little brother for PS4. The bf doesn't game. So it falls to me. I'm a PC gamer, which for DAI has meant a lot of creative workarounds to get it to run perfectly at 60 fps with the right draw distance etc.

How stable is DAI on PS4? Does it run OK, etc?

It runs just fine IMO. No noticeable dips below 30fps.

It's great on PS4. Very stable, all noticeable glitches fixed by second patch.

Yeah it runs oki. still some bugs and fixes needed. but thats on all systems.. If it dips below 30fps it kinda do sometimes. was fighting a dragon yesterday and out of the blue it dropped and i could almost not do anything.  Still it dont happen a lot.  i dont know if this is cross platform or not.. But. ai is kinda dumb they stand in thin air sometimes. And in some area stones and other things is not on the ground were they should be.  Other then that its great almost 130hours in on my 2nd toon :)

Comparable to high settings on a decent gaming pc. I play on the ps4 and it runs smooth as butter and looks fantastic.

It has minor bugs. Mostly lip syncing is off, stuttering during cut scenes, minor quest bugs. Aside from that, it runs well on PS4.

It looks great on PS4, a few bugs/glitches (i.e. sound goes, animations glitch etc.) but nothing game breaking yet.

The PS4 version crashed twice for me.

... but that's not a complaint! My first (admittedly, pretty exhaustive) playthrough lasted for over 170 hours, so two crashes in that time is pretty good going in my book!

That's funny. My fiance and I are the opposite as I'm the gamer and she's the non-gamer.

To answer your question, the PS4 version runs smooth. Buy it.

I had some issues later in the game on my PS4 with cutscenes not playing properly (long awkward pauses in the middle before they'd eventually continue), but I think the latest patch addressed this? I'm not that far into my second playthrough yet so not sure. Also I've gotten party banter to fire a lot more often now so I believe that got fixed as well.

Other than that it's a totally fine version of the game. I'd call the couple issues I had very minor in light of how large the game is, and as others have noted, these were things that were also bugged on other platforms.

I ran into the original issue with cutscenes hanging up with no dialogue options being available, and also ran into the issue of party members not bantering.  The first has been fixed since the patch, the second still seems hit or miss.

Other than that, the PS4 has been stable and reliable for me.  No freeze ups, no stuttering, etc.

If getting it through the PS store is an option, it's worth nothing that it's on sale this week (hence why I just caved in...).

I just wanted to update everyone because you've all been so helpful! I got the game and he seems to like it. Got to play around with the keep again, so that was cool. I threw in the "dark and depressing-est [sic]" worldstate possible (per his request). Not sure if I should be worried.
