Anyone have a headset that is working well in DAIMP? I hear sparse talking during DAI PUGs, but frequently when I do hear someone speaking it has a considerable amount of hiss, garbling, or low volume.

I own a Logitech H800 that works well in ME3MP and on the desktop in WIN7 SOUND setup, but simply will not be recognized by DAIMP, whether playing on my Falcon-NW laptop or Alienware desktop.  As there are no software AUDIO prompts/settings to facilitate headset functionality I need to buy a headset that works with this game.

Any good suggestions?

Priority would be Quality, then Comfort, then Cost.

Thanks.

I have corsair vengeance 2100 and my gf has the 1500s. They both work pretty well, are very comfortable (use them for hours at a time) and are pretty reasonably priced.

I'm using a Logitech G430 surround-sound gaming headset. Its specifically made for gaming and works wonderfully for me. Its really comfortable - nicely padded and I like how the individual ear pieces swivel over your ears. I think the sound quality is great. It comes with a sound test where you can hear someone walking all the way around you. I see them on Amazon right now for sixty bucks which is even better than what I had picked mine up for over the summer. It also helps muffle external sound which has saved me from tons of chore requests from the girlfriend. "Can you blah blah blah, blah blah-blah?"  "Huh? Sorry, can't hear you." Can't suggest them enough!

If you can't use the mic on your headphones, but the audio output still works, you can also opt for a webcam or desktop USB microphone which would cost only $20-40. A separate mic will let you get headphones without mics or wireless, which tend to have better sound quality/price than wireless headsets.

Most consumer microphones over $50 are overpriced $10 microphones. You won't really notice a big difference between most <$50 mics, just get whatever has decent reviews on amazon. If for some reason you want to spend over $50 on a microphone, make sure it is a professional condenser mic with USB plug and play, like CAD U37, Blue Yeti, AT2020USB, or Monoprice 600801. USB studio mics have sound quality significantly better than consumer mics, but that doesn't matter for gaming. Just letting you know about them so if you want to waste money on a mic you don't waste it on logitech's facepalm $135 gooseneck usb microphone.

I just use the earbud thing that came with the PS4.  That's been working great for me the entire time I've had my system.  No need to get a new headset yet.

I use Astro A40's with the 5.8 wireless mix amp.  Best bit is you can adjust voice chat and game sounds independently with a dial.

They're a few years old now though, so probably something better out by now...

I havesome 3 year old model from Gamescom Plantronics which I got for about 30€ back then. Still works like a charm. Maybe your volume setup is a bit off? After my headset was recognized by my computer all I had to do was fiddle with volumes here and there.
