I see Nvidia just released a new driver, version 347.09 on 12/23.  Has anyone tried this driver yet?  Not having any crashes with the older 344.75 driver, just wanted to know if anyone has noticed any fps improvement, or less crashing with the newer driver (those that were having crashes).

According to the full notes it hasn't fixed any issues with DAI. If you already had issues this is unlikely to fix it. If you don't have issues it won't improve anything. The one possibility for improvement is with SLI, but that's just a guess as they don't outright say it.

Eh, graphics drivers are essentially magic at this point.  No one understands them, least of all the people making them.  I think every single game I've ever played in the last seven years has had an instance where performance got better with a new driver version when there was no direct attempt at doing so.

But the graphics driver giveth and the graphics driver taketh away.  It's just as likely a new driver will randomly degrade performance as well.

Can't say you are wrong

I tried the driver and started crashing again in multiplayer so I went back the old one. It still crashes from time to time and I still have to under clock my card to even play but it's better than the new driver.

I'm going to wait and see.  The old driver is working fine with the game, at least for me.  If they patch or update the game and there's a conflict, I'll reconsider.

Why do you have to underclock your card? I'm running a factory superclocked GTX 660 and I haven't had any issues. In near 200 hours and 5 playthroughs I only ctd'd about 3 times. What sort of issues did you run into, out of curiosity?

I have a factory superclocked Titan and after a while of playing I start to get a lot of texture tearing, after which I have to restart the game.  I've found that going back to the factory clock lets me play without issue.

Interesting. Can't say that I've noticed that in my last 5 playthroughs, but I'll keep an eye out for it in the next.

I tried the 349.09 driver on my 760GTX and experienced noticeable stuttering. Rolled back to 344.75 and the game runs smoothly on a mix of Ultra/High and a couple of medium settings.

I tried the new beta driver and it felt like I got worse performance to be honest. I rolled back to 344.75 drivers. I play in SLI 780's.

This update made my game A LOT more faster! I have a GTX 970 if that changes anything.

Gotta love the consistency.

If you've ever heard of folding, they use really old drivers, so drivers are not necessarily indicative of performance per se.

Maybe there is a pattern behind it after all. New graphic cards benefit, older graphic cards don't or suffer. I guess at some point the driver developing concentrates on newer stuff, although they would probably never admit it.

Haven't had much performance troubles with the game from the start - I would still like those cutscenes to be uncapped though,- but this driver made an increase in performance across the board, not just DA:I. I'm using a GTX 980 on Windows 8.1. I think it's related to that CUDA 7 update, but I'm not sure.

Don't count on it, it appears to be a game bug: AMD suffers the same issues too...

Currently using a factory-superclocked GTX 760. The previous patch, while solving most of my crash issues, slowed the performance of my game considerably. This patch, however, boosts my game's performance quite well. Dunno how or why, but it does.

Patch? You mean the driver?

I'm waiting to upgrade also.  I have no problems now, outside of a fps that I feel could be higher (running 2 GTX780ti's in SLI w/ a 2560x1440 monitor, avg fps 48.7).  Was hoping that the new driver would address that, but there is nothing in the release notes.

So many people running similar Nvidia cards, from 560s to 980s, with the same driver.  Some have crashes/freezes/ect, while others have no problems outside of a low FPS.

I have no issues, full stop. It runs as smooth as butter.

It does not address SLI issues unfortunately. I am still torn between lower framerates but overall more consistent experience or enabling SLI and getting better framerates but hitchy transitions to cutscenes, occasional flickering textures and bright white fog.

Neither option is very appealing.

To be honest here I still prefer the 344.65 drivers. Gtx 650.

I'm not sure if it was Patch 2 (+hotfix) or upgrading to these drivers, but certain areas which used to always result in a DX crash appear to no longer do so.
I'll need to do more testing to confirm though.

Yeah I just rolled back from this driver, game just started to crash all the time after I had installed the new one. :(
