When I first read that skill in the MP, I went "lol, I'm never using that." but then I started using it with Blackwall in the SP and really started to like it. I recently used it on my Legionnaire and thought it was amazing. I finally felt like I was getting out decent dps with my crappy sword that has the 3 guard on hit, with the guard generation upgrade on To the Death, I felt immortal.

I could really feel the difference in particular case when the first time I fought a brunto/rhino looking animal in the mp with my legionnaire I was like, meh, I got this, held the thing on me with little effort and even killed it while randoms ran around killing other stuff. A few games later I wasn't using the Legionare anymore and a damn brunto looking animal just ran over everyone with little effort, the difference was retarded, lol.

The only downside I see is using it with randoms who don't know what the glowy red enemies mean and get too close to the enemy when they lob AoE attacks at me. Assassins in particular can get boned pretty bad. It can be like watching a car wreck in action in slow mo. Noooooo!!!!! Get back!!!!! lol. Don't get me wrong, Assassins can take pretty good advantage of the damage bonus, just be careful of WHEN you attack.

Yeah, it's pretty nasty on bosses. I liked popping it on, waiting 10/15 seconds or there abouts and then pop walking fortress and toss bees and laugh, lol. I can't wait to try it on my Katari, it might actually make me enjoy that character. The Katari was the one of the only ones that felt like "work" to get to 20 to promote it the one and only time I've gotten it to 20 so far.

I'm still staying away from it because when you mostly play with randoms and are trying to break into perilious, the biggest obstacle seems to be risky play. Whether it's the reaver/assassin/alchemist that dies multiple times before a boss fight on threatening, or a skill that continuously increases an enemy's damage input and output and then blows up one of your teammates. This might be useful for Walking Fortress legionnaires and/or very well-equipped and coordinated teams, but that's a pretty big maybe.

I adore it on Katari but rather don't like it on the Legionnaire.  I feel like when I do die on that class, it's for reasons not relating to my ability to generate large amounts of guard in a short period and can't really imagine taking it over the free Payback Strike.  Maybe when armor starts working again, making guard generation more valuable...but that'd just make the passives even more valuable so you can't afford the points.

Kinda skipped reading what the upgrade did. Once i did though this skill has been amazing. 25% guard each attack. Use payback strike when this is up to generate almost instant guard. You can tank all bosses with this and you are nearly invincible since it stays on them as long as they are within range. Makes staying alive in perilous a little easier too. As long as they can keep themselves alive.
