I forgot about Awakening's humor as well. I like the part where Velanna tries to get snappy with Nathaniel and he tells her her ears are clownish

The game is full of often humorous conversations with companions, hilarious dialogue options (and character responses to them), amusing conversations between party members, and much more. Alistair, Shale, and Zevran will provide the most consistent laughs so make sure you talk to them regularly and have them with you at least some of the time.

And in a later dialogue apologizes.

I like how dialogue in Awakening between character can tell a story.

Oghren gives Velanna a story about how dwarves are born, Velanna talks to Sigrun to confirm it and Sigrun makes fun of her for believing Oghren, so Velanna pranks Oghren over two dialogues about an ointment she lends him to help out a rash which actually inflames it, and she brings up the rock eggs and how dangerous it is to believe someone.

I was astounded how it tied together over the course of five dialogues and three characters.

The Bloodworks mod (siding with the Chantry)

Warden:  Where's the priestess?

Commander:  Oh, she's resting -- being holy is extremely tiring. :D

Dang!  Now I know why I slept in this morning!

Doing the HN origin now and apparently someone at BioWare has a sick sense of humour?

Fergus to Oren: "Don’t worry son, you’ll get to see a sword up close real soon, I promise."

That's just horrible!

It's called foreshadowing, it's good writing 101.

I know it's foreshadowing,  Doesn't mean it wasn't horrible!   :)

My elf mage warden was Not Pleased with Nate for making that statement!

But if we're going to talk Awakening humor...

"NO ONE TOUCHES OGHREN'S JUNK AND LIVES!"

Velanna did kind of deserve it though lol I found her to be a bigger jerk to people than Morrigan was :P Speaking of Morrigan, I did like how Sten could shut her down in conversation

Yeah, Velanna does have a Morrigan-esque personality.  But she seemed to come around faster than Morrigan did.  (Though maybe it's just that as a fellow elf, my M!Surana was able to relate to her better than he did to Morrigan.  His reactions to Morrigan verged from keeping her around as a way to exercise his self-control, to wanting to ******-slap her repeatedly and kick her out into the Deep Roads.  He's at least able to tolerate Velanna, even if he's not especially fond of her.)

Post Coronation-

Oghren:  you humans really know how to make ale.  Orzammar ale taste like dirt in comparison.   Probably because the put dirt in it.

Lothering highway bandits-

Bandit leader:  We have rules -- you pay toll.

Bandit: Right, we get to ransack your corpse, then those are the rules.

Approaching Andraste's urn of ashes --

Wynne: I could not have asked for a greater honor than to be here. I will never forget this feeling.
Sten: Congradulations, you found a waste bin.
Zeveran: Nice vase -- I should get one for my home.

Denerim Nobel Tavern:
Crimson Oars sailor:  Ahhh, we rip out your eyes & pizz in your skull.
(Board meeting equivalent): please give us the benefit of your thinking as long as it doesn't interfere with what we've already decided to do.

Carta doorman:  What's the password?
Aedan: Jarvia sucks lizzard eggs

Arriving at Ortan Thaig-

Oghran: By the tiitts of my ancestors....
(If Oghran were female, I wonder what she would say....)

I loved Sten's other comment about the Ashes:

"The arch-demon is our goal and we are heading away from it.  To find the charred remnants of a dead woman."

Okie....okie...

Here's my fav. It's hilarious...

Oghren: Ah. Yep. Lot of tension around here.

Alistair: You think so, do you?
Oghren: Know what I do to relieve tension?
Alistair: I hesitate to wonder.
Oghren: I polish the ol' weapon.
Alistair: Really.
Oghren: Yep. Give it a good shine. With a dry rag, then with a little grease.
Alistair: That's disgusting.
Oghren: You're telling me you never gave yer blade the old spit-shine?
Alistair: I think that's private.
Oghren: Really? Sodding Chantry and its rules. I like to do it right out in the open.
Alistair: Where people can see you?
Oghren: Yep.
Alistair: Wait, what are you talking about?
Oghren: What are you talking about?
Alistair: (Sigh) Never mind.

What, no mentions of Herren and Wade???

The way they react when you bring drake scales and later dragon scales is always funny. They also have their moments in awakening.

Lake Calenhad Docks Bar
Bartender: what would you like?
Aedan:  I'd like a drink
Menu: fire bomb, shock bomb

Sten:  The Blight -- how will you end it?
Aedan:  I thought we'd just ask the darkspawn to please leave

Aedan to Alistair:  so...you're not just a bastard but a royal bastard
(blah, blah, blah)
As you command...my prince.

Mad Hermit:  would you know a question if it was asked?
(uhhh -- yes, I'm god I know everything about everything)
Hermit: ah ha! -- that means you DID (in fact) have a father -- I like tripping you up.
(no kiddin' -- how brilliant & perceptive!)
I love this guy!

More brilliant and also humorous is the Grand Oak Tree.  If you study this closely, you can see the supreme brilliance of someone in the game design.   This is a phenomenal piece of work that probably passed by casually in effort to complete the quest. I've  seen lots of creatures in games; but this takes the cake.   The voice acting & video directing is absolutely 5-star; besides the god-brilliant lines.  I can't help but wonder how this rhyming poetry is translated into other languages -- where it might lose some of its joy & glamor.

Shale: Please try not to get eaten. If the beast should fly about afterwards and poop it out, irony would dictate that it would land on me. I simly could not take it.

^ If you ask the Oak tree why he speaks in rhymes:

I do not know, why dost thou not? Thy words seem plain, a mundane lot. Perhaps a poet's souls in me. Does that make me a poet tree?

Warden: Yes, a poetry I got it.

Also, if you romance Leliana:

Leliana: But now it's getting late and I think I might turn in early. I can't help thinking of how soft and warm my bedroll is.

Warden: I'm going to stay up and write in my journal.

Leliana: Oh, I didn't know you wrote in it every night.

Warden: Well I do.

Leliana: Let me help: 'Dear Journal, Leliana has shown much affection for me. Even asked me to come to bed with her, alas subtlety is lost on me.

Warden: Wait what?

Or:

Wynne: Alistair, may I have a word?

Alistair: Of course. Anything for my favouritist mage ever.

Wynne: It seems that you and our fearless leader are inseparable these days. Joined at the hip almost.

Alistair: That's a bit of an overstatement don't you think?

Wynne: Well then, now that you're in an intimate relationship you should now where babies come from.

Alistair: Pardon?

Wynne: I know the Chantry says that you dream about your babies and the good Fade spirits take them out of the Fade and leave them in your arms but that's not true. Actually what happens is when a girl and a boy really love each other...

Alistair: Andraste's flaming sword! I know where babies come from!

Wynne: Do you? Do you really?

Alistair: I certainly hope so.

Wynne: Oh alright then. Oh look, you're all red and mottled. How cute.

Alistair: You did that on purpose!

Wynne: Now, now, Alistair, why would I do such a thing?

Alistair: Because you're wicked. The frail old lady act? I'm so not fooled. I'm on to you now.

Probably my favourite banter in the game.
