Bianca
Scout Harding
Shale
Talis
I really hope that there are no returning characters to make up any of the companions for the new protagonist. Scout Harding is really the only one I could consider to be a fair addition, but there would have to be a good reason why this character left the Inquisition to do whatever with the fresh faces.
Ser Dead of the Pool.
Lets hope the bad guys are wearing their brown pants. ![]()
Ser. I want to see Ser.
Oh god, if talis even APPEARS in the next game, i'm not getting it.
Just add Dagna, I'm sure she can make things go boom
I adore Dagna and would like her as a companion if only she had the combat skills to fight.
Other types I would like to see are:
Dalish warrior (male or female)
Noble female dwarf (rogue or warrior) (not a surface dwarf)
City elf Bardmaster (would like Bard back as a specialization too)
Human Orlesian chevalier
Grey Warden from the Anderfels
Qunari Fog warrior
Mage from the newly formed "college of enchanters"
Mabari dog or perhaps another kind of creature
Nevarran Mortalitasi (mage), it's a far fetched idea but more unique for a mage companion compared to what we have had before.
It would be nice if the party was less then eight or nine next time around. Less characters and longer personal story arcs.
A Tevinter Magister, I imagine they'd be a great way to reintroduce spirit warriors (that way they can counter magic without using tasty tasty lyrium)
A Kal-Sharok Dwarf, perhaps sent here to investigate the surface, like Sten, only tiny.
A Tranquil warrior. Perhaps they were a knight or chevalier who underwent the rite due to demonic posession or something and felt it logical to use their unique set of skills to fight magical threats.
Anderfels Grey Warden Not a raw recruit
Bianca
Kal-sharock dwarf
Rhys and Evangeline from Asunder
Abelas
and a traditionalist from Orzammar maybe renvil Harrowmont
City Elf
Would be grate to have a warrior monk companion as well .
I would really, really love an avvar. Also it would be great to see Sandal and Harding available in a future game.
Baby dragon as a mabari replacer. Since you know, they are just big animals in Thedas lore.
Ser Dead of the Pool.
Lets hope the bad guys are wearing their brown pants.
id prefere Ser Lister of Smeg or Ser Ash of S Mart.
a orlesian chevalier, Nathaniel, and antivan crow, calpurnia, dorian, oghren, dog
Chasind shapeshifter mage (can teach us specialistation, too) or Avvar barbarian warrior. I think it would be interesting to hear a lot of the events from their point of view.
I can't write origins for companions, I have to write more, so here we are !
Issala : "As the fire can warm and burn, so can I"
Issala is the nickname, meaning Dust, given to a female Saarebas. Incredibly tall, with a bronze skin and long white hair, this colossus of a woman always wear her mask. She is a stern and devout follower of the Qun, believing that magic has to be tightly controlled, for it could destroy the world. Issala, as all the Saarabas, doesn't know a lot of spells or subtle magic, but her raw power makes her one of the most powerful mages than can one could face when her wrath burns hot.
She was born in Seheron and discovered that she was a Saarebas at the age of 8, when a group of Tevinters, among which was a mage, attacked her friends and her Tamassran. She jumped to protect them from a fire spell which engulfed her. While her face was burning, she felt a fire of her own growing inside of her and she had to push it away from her. She released a torrent of flames which burned to death the humans who had attacked her, until only dust remained.
Disfigured and horrified by her nature as a Saarebas, she was totally lost, but the kind words of her Tamassaran and a precious gift from her helped Issala to endure her first difficult years as a Saarebas. As of today, while the Tevinter Imperium is plagued by rebellions she has taken upon herself to ensure the safety of all Qunari by stopping any bas-saarebas which could resort to desperate measures. Still, she hopes to discover a way for the mages to be freed from the depredations of demons without having to lose their dreams.
Arvad : "Mages have to be controlled. Also, look at that ass."
Arvad is the nickname of a Qunari Arvaarad who also happens to be an elf. Small and lithe, he would appears unfit to the Antaam at first glance, but his skills with his short sword earned him a place among the warriors of the Qun. Nonetheless, his unusually friendly and funny behaviour earned him some bad reputation among the Qunari, even if he can be deadly serious when it comes down to hunting Tal-Vashoths or other enemies of the Qun, as he has proven several times.
Arvad is born on Par Vollen and spent most of his early life on the island, learning both the Qunlat and Common, since the Tamassrans believed that he was fitted to infiltrate the Imperium and help spread the teachings of the Qun among the elven slaves. However, his impulsive nature and abilities with all kind of weapons finally orientated him to the Antaam. Among his brothers of the "body", he always denoted, especially since most Saarebas are part of the great bronze-skinned species.
Sent to keep an eye on Issala as her Arvaarad, Arvad has grown fond of her, even if he wouldn't recognize it easily, and prefer to pretend that he is simply joking, since such feelings would be a source of concerns and could possibly make him a Tal-Vashoth, a fact which would bring Issala down with him. Another concern of his is the growing influence of the so called Children of the Dread Wolf, elves who rise in rebellion in the name of long-lost Gods and who try to overthrow the Imperium only to create another nation ruled by mages.
Octavian [Maelius] : "Not all Tevinters are mages, and Thedas should remember it !"
Octavian is a grim and bitter warrior from Tevinter in his early thirties. Having spent most of his life training with weapons and shields, either in the army of the Imperium or as a merchant guard, he has grown some renown of his own. And yet, not much in the Imperium seems to be precious to him, for he loath most of his countrymen, their behaviours and the way they worship mages and lineages as though it was the only thing which mattered.
The truth is that Octavian hail from the great family of the Maeliusand his the young brother of Magister Jeanis Maelius However, his parents pretended that he died in an accident at the age of twelve, when it became apparent that he wasn't a mage, for it was a stain on their reputation to have an heir who would happens to be a Soporati. He was then sent to the distant Perivantium, with the knowledge that he wouldn't ever be allowed to return to his family.
For Octavian, the current trials that the Imperium is facing are only the result of thousand of years of decadence and arrogance and he couldn't care less about the fall of the magisters and the mages. And yet, he is a devout follower of the Imperial Chantry and a lover of his nation's history. He refuses to stand by as rebels, traitors and invaders are destroying the cities and memories of Tevinter. He as vowed that a Soporati would save the Imperium, or die trying.
Jaenis Maelius: "As my friend Dorian says, talking big won't change anything"
The Magister Jaenis Maelius is an important figure in the Imperium. Having inherited the seat of her dead father when he was assassinated by his own slaves, probably compelled by the blood magic of a rival. Her strong will and great skill quickly insured that her place in the Magisterium was secure, even if she had to meddle in unsavoury ways to insure it. Still, Jaenis is an important member of the progressive faction among the Magisters, who have understand that the Imperium can't remain as it is.
Unknown to most, her drive to a betterment of the Imperium stem from a life of sorrow : when she was sixteen, studying in the Circle of Minrathie, her beloved younger brother Octavian died in an ambush by an insane slave who butchered him to the point he was hardly recognizable. She married a mage from Nevarra who had managed to stir her out of her grief but was killed sometimes after their wedding. And finally, her father was assassinated, leaving her alone with only a mother turned insane by her misfortunes.
While her precious Imperium is crumbling before her very eyes, Jaenis will do anything she can, even allies with foreigners to save as many as she can. She hopes that, should she succeed in preserving the Imperium by those ways, she could be made Archon and with the help of her friends, among which the (in)famous Dorian Pavus, she would be able to stir away Tevinter from its demises to instigate a new golden age in the North, for a better country.
Charade Amell
Bianca
Tallis
Darkspawn Disciple Mage
Mage Tal Vashoth
Shale(Dwarf) warrior
Dalish Warrior female
How about a character that doesn't tell the MC their life story right away. It would be awesome to have someone that actually disapproves if you ask them questions & would flat out refuse to answer until they trust you.
Didn't we get that with Sera?
Back on topic: NEW COMPANIONS PLEASE. Too many returning characters and companions make the world feel small.
Scout Harding
Maevaris
Dalish (on loan from the Chargers)
Anders (just for the lulz)
More generally:
a Mabari
Qunari mage defector
Alienage elf
Dwarven noble
Human chevalier
Probably ridiculously unpopular but...
I don't want any npc companions. I want to make 4 characters I play through and are of my own design from start to finish (yes, it can and has been done).
The "romancables" can be non-companion npcs.
No returning characters.
If it's placed in Tevinter, an interesting character would be a Viddathari Elf. As long as it isn't Tallis.
Scout Harding
Krem
Bethany Hawke
Nathaniel Howle
sentient darkspawn
Another legion of Dead member
