So I've yet to play the Citadel DLC, and plan to getting round to a final trilogy play through in the next year or two. It made me realise though, that once I finish that, that's it, all there is. These characters, these people, who accompanied and befriended players over the course of years are gone... forever.  From what I've hear of the next game it looks like ties to the trilogy are negligible, so cameos are for the most part unlikely. (In Dragon Age they're basically just a novelty anyway.)

What I want to get to is this. If you'd could have had one more conversation, or one last quest, with any particular character. Who would it have been, where? What would you have talked about? If you could add any more character or gameplay content in supposed re-mastered edition (which I think itself is currently unlikely)

Me? I would have given Mass Effect 2's crew a little more time, both in conversation in the second game, and significance and screen time in the third game.

Last Mission.

Priority: Tali's New Home.

With the Reapers defeated and the galaxy finally safe, if only for a while, travel to Rannoch to help Tali'Zorah vas Normandy build her new home on the long begotten homeworld of the quarian.

Basically something like Citadel DLC but with just Shepard and LI Tali.

I do like Tali, but as a Miranda man I did feel like she, like many other ME2 crew, got short straws.

I agree a fellow Miranda man here

she and the other ME2 crew really got shafted in ME3 so if by some miracle it was possible to make them more important in ME3 with a remastered edition (temporary Squadmates at least and they join you in the Final Battle) that would be awesome

then Miranda's half assed goodbye in Priority Earth (really all the ME2 squadmates got like 20 sec goodbyes with no dialouge choices for Shep but since Miranda was my LI its worse) would be gone and instead we would get an awesome EC goodbye

one can only dream...

Yeah, more ME2 crew would've been nice. All in all, nearly three years later, I'm content. The DLC the OP is about to play scratched a lot of those itches, so to speak. Our make-believe friends from Normandy (both of them) will always be there to go back and visit. I'm pretty sure I've devoted more time replaying this series than all other games combined.

Count me in on that one. It's mind-boggling now that I think about it.

Same here. Yet the more I continue to re-play these games the more I love them. It's the nostalgia that keeps on giving!

I also have another one. Though this is also what I consider "My dream ME(4?)" or at least the lead in.

So like a couple of years (maybe a decade) since the defeat of the reapers. Shepard survived because he had a high ems and picked destroy because "duh". Anyway the galactic infrastructure is still being rebuilt but the Council gets word of a undiscovered relay. It seems it hasn't been activated since at least the time of the protheans. They've concluded through research (plot hole magic) that this relay may in fact reach beyond the known galaxy.

With no idea of whats behind it and the danger that may await. The council decides to send a spectre. Someone who has faced odds no one else had, cliche, cliche, cliche. Anyway Shepard along with Tali as his LI (or as a representative of quarian interest. Then insert  whatever LI you want.) Garrus for the interest of the Turian councilor. And Kaidian for the Alliance. Along with Liara because of her vast knowledge and data archiving( she goes to record things). And Wrex along with a group of krogan battlemasters (ya know, for extra muscle). Take the Normandy on her last mission. To dark space to discover what else may lie out in the void.

As much as I love the ME2 crew and would like to have had more time with them, if I had one more mission for my Shepard, it would be based on the conversation with Liara during the Romance scene in ME3, where's she's talking about how it would be each for one ship to get lost out in the depths of space.  The mission would be then equipping a ship and disappearing together out into the back, with only a hand full of people knowing how to reach them.  Liara would turn over the Shadow Broker Mantel to EDI, with Shepard giving her the goal of using the Broker's power to maintain peace and stability in the galaxy, and then Liara and Shepard would find some private little garden world where they could be at peace for as long as it took both of them to heal from all the stress and damage of the war.

It would be kind of cool if every love interest got their own version of this.  Shepard and Garrus adopting a couple of krogan babies.  Shepard and Tali building a house on Rannoch with a few Geth helping with the construction.  Jack and Shepard working with Kahlee Sanders to restart Grissom Academy.  Steve and Shepard helping rebuild Steve's colony world.  Traynor and Shepard's house with a white picket fence and so on.

I agree on the Tali's home mission. I love her so damn much, it would be awesome to have her and Shepard sit on a bench outside their new home as the horizon darkens from the sunset, and the camera shifts to the tilted horizon scene every game opens with and then the screen turns black and "MASS EFFECT" fills the screen before it cuts out. Not Mass effect 3, 2 or 1, just Mass effect.

That would have been the perfect ending for me.

The ME2 characters could have used more screen time in the third game so I wouldn't object to them getting more.

Personally, I was always disappointed that the poker table never got used on the Normandy - endless mini game opportunities right there!

From an entirely selfish POV, any additional content - LI-centric would be my preference. Loved the Citadel DLC, the only disappointment for me was that once it's done, it's done - yeah you can go back to the apartment but that's pretty much it. Would been nice if you could re-invite people over with random ambient dialogue. Equally, your LI could hang out there, again, with random ambient dialogue.

Re the replayability - I finished my final 'canon' playthrough about 2 years ago - must have played through and finished the game again at least 5 times since then. You'd probably be surprised at how much you haven't experienced yet - play paragon? then play renegade - take the dialogue options or make the choices that you don't normally choose. Even after a sh1t-load of playthroughs I'm still not convinced that I've experienced 'everything'.

I'd add a final romance scene for ME2 squadmates. So when you go for the final battle you are not left with the "alone" variation of end-game romance scene. Even simply "look at a photo" like in ME2 would be an improvement.

Goddamn if they had poker like in Far Cry 3 against your squadmates, that would have been bloody awesome!

I was hugely disappointed with FC4 for having no poker minigame.

Yah, I think you've gotta play renegade to get that scene.

As I recall, it's a given after the Priority: Rannoch. Kaidan's dialogue will vary based on your choices, but he'll still play poker regardless of what you choose during the mission

I'm amazed you peeps had Kaidan alive at all.   I keep looking around like who is that?  Oh yeah - that's that Virmire guy.

I'm not a Kaidan hater.....  just never saw it as right to sacrifice a woman to save a man.  Goes against my chivalrous nature.

Did mine too.   'Till I actually saved him.  And then promptly woke myself up after my brief slumber whenever he appeared.

She's a Marine. Why should gender or chivalry come into play? I'm not saying its a bad quality, just one which Ash herself might find objectionable. ;) Still, I respect that you guys respect and value women.

I used to have a 50/50 split between them. Then, ME3 ruined Ash for me, so I now always let her die heroically on Virmire. I use a save editor to swap the two, if necessary, when importing saves into ME2 or ME3. It doesn't help that Kaidan is mechanically far more valuable in ME3, in addition to have more and better written content. Poor Ashley. They did her wrong.

A mission with Liara. That's kind of ignorant I know as there was already Shadow Broker DLC for ME2 but I miss my blue squeeze.

Citadel broke my heart. The last goodbye scene at the port is what did it. When Shepard says "the best".

But to answer your question - I'd like a bit more time with my LI. Oh and i wanna save the party picture taken.

Oh and the poker scene with Kaidan and James - you do not have to be renegade. You just gotta find them. Happens in the 2nd half of the game.

I think Kaiden would find it much more objectionable that he gets condemned to death simply because he has the wrong stuff between his legs... the stupidity of chivalry.

I think one final quest with Tali, Garrus, Liara and Joker would be my choice... they are the ones that feel most like your closest friends, with you from the beginning to the end (unless you let any of them die in ME2... and why would you do that... just why!)

The final mission of the series should be to retrieve Commander Shepard from the Citadel.  Full crew, full squad available with the exception of fatalities of course.  Retrieve and reunite with LI, dead or alive per your choices.

If dead, an honor guard escorts them in a funeral wake.  If alive, Shep rolls out with LI into the sunset.

Kaidan is the superior officer so pretty much any soldier IRL would know that the correct thing to do would be to save him.
