What country/religion is this? Why did my mother shield me from it as a child? Why do I care now that I'm a dad and mainly get socks? Why did you open this floodgate of questions that I will never truly have the answers too?????

It's the Czech republic and it really has nothing to do with religion. By the way, be glad you have it your way. It must be easier for you to slip all those presents under the Christmas tree without your kids noticing. Seriously I never understood how my parents managed it

There is a ominous danger involved. Especially when they are younger that they will quietly slip out of their room and catch you, very unnerving. Plus chugging milk and eating a dozen cookies at 1 am isn't exactly my idea of a good time
