Yup, but you weren't running combat roll [I actually use that same build] on Reaver, for good reason too. My point is that Reaver doesn't have a commonly taken - or particularly good - dodge. She also lacks armour generation. That means that at DC, its harder to not get hit than say a Keeper, who can fade cloak for invincibility and give herself and her team barrier. Obviously it's a subjective list, but I simply find both Archer and Reaver to be tougher match-ups against the DC, and on paper the skills they have to dodge with aren't as reliable off-host as the ones I've listed as top-tier that tend to give you more leniency.

I'm not saying a good Archer or Reaver will always do bad, simply that there's obviously easier classes to face the DC with, which is important because if the user is struggling, chances are they aren't fully experienced anyway and would need a slightly more accessible class.

You don't need an evade ability for the DC off host, I dodge him by running and jumping all the time. The Archer's Leaping Shot can not only dodge the DC, but also recover you from knockdown when you get juggled by terrors. I would never run my Archer/Hunter without it.

Sure, a Keeper could give herself barrier or dodge with Fade Cloak/Fade Step. But she will also do very little damage against the DC. A Reaver can just dodge his attack and turn around, activate rampage and go to town on him. An Archer can reliably speed tank the DC somewhere and even kill it by himself while the rest of the team kills the adds.

I and many users - can't consistently dodge DC off host regardless of what we do, bar an evasive ability. In that set of parameters - where your strategy does not work for everyone - there are objectively easier skills to dodge DC with, and objectively there are certain classes with more of these skills, of higher quality for DC, that are traditionally run regardless.

A Keepers job isn't to provide DPS, it's to support. She can't throw barriers down when dead, nor can she revive others. This wasn't an assessment of overall who can burst down DC or deal with him generally the best,  otherwise I would indeed have placed Archer near the top as he can avoid the fear yet do high single-target dps, it was which class[es] specifically have the most lenient evasion abilities so that even when lagging off host you will consistently dodge.

As I've said, I've not seen many Archers run leaping shot - those that do I haven't seen pull off on DC consistently in around 80 hours of MP. I've never seen anyone in a PUG successfully even try to solo DC, let alone with an Archer.

I usually run my Templar and Shield Wall nullifies the DC since you can block the upslash if you angle your camera looking down. Only problem when DC doesn't immediately aggro to you.

Yeah, honestly, once I saw the video of jumping when you see the green/blackish mist, I've never been touched by him. He immediately became easiest boss to fight.

Just focus on the damn wraiths....damn wraiths... I hate them.

Question: what the hell is a demon army doing with guard mabari, anyway? Maybe they're possessed or in cahoots with the key coding that causes the glitch and reforming pottery. Evil, evil pottery.

Steps:

1. Turn mic on.

2. Tell teammates: "KILL THE GAWDDAMN WRAITHS FIRST!!! ARRGGH!!!"

3. Disable mic.

4. Take time killing DC.

5. Finish game.

6. PM BW dev to nerf DC.

Search for high ground on maps that make it easy to avoid DC. I may make a video about it one day, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Then perhaps you should work on your timing and reflexes. Unless a fear demon slows you there's really no reason why you shouldn't be able to dodge him.

Except for lag, which was literally the entire reason for listing the many evade skills that give you wider windows to dodge within regardless of your connection to the host.

Seconded. Its on both my templar and lego for perilous runs. I find its almost mandatory for wave 5 demons on that difficulty.

Meh. Walking fortress also breaks fear if you really need to.

You can just bunny hop instead if the lag is so bad. This is really not as difficult as so many people make it out to be.

Walking Fortress is better used to avoid his instakill, since it allows you to actually hold the chokepoint instead of running around. Payback Strike also hits him on the way down. Not to mention the <8 second cooldown.
