Seriously. Does anyone have them, and if so, how many hours of chest farming does it take????? I've put a lot of time into this incredible game, (nightmare) but for the life of me, I cannot get the BATTLEMASTER MAIL ARM and LEG heavy armor upgrade!! Gahh! XD

I have both schematics, farming 1 chest (repeat/reload) save point was the only way.

Time: .... about 16 hours. (T3 zone)

the T2 version (shoulders) took me roughly 1 full week of reloading a T2 chest save. I had to find the right chest that spawns more schematics.

Some might disagree and say all chests spawns are random loot drops. Yes all random but from my countless reloads camping in front of many many many many loot chests for HOURS searching for particular schematics.

There are certain chests in my game plays (xbox1 & ps4) where schematics do drop MORE often from chest locations. Again might be different experience for others .... but for me between both platforms? Its always the same exact chests where Ive found the same schematics.

Im at work atm, but will try to post the pic of the chest where that i farmed most if not ALL of my masterwork & T3 schematics.

Emprise du Lion ..... A tree u can carefully walk up along its braches to reach a chest that is uptop on a snow covered wall.

Very easy to miss as u pass thru the snow and radar doesnt trigger its location unless u were to climb the tree.

How I found it? loots the burlap bags up top along the snowy brick walls above ground. Climb jump in the limbs of the trees and hop from branch to branch without falling. I cleared the area first then left the companions back at Skyhold while I chain reloaded save after save searching for schematics in the area.

The Perks from Josephine are either garbage or do not work to spawn schematics on vendors (superior & masterwork)

Chest camping ive found to be the only way to get the better warrior gear and schematics. Almost ALL loot drop in game favors either rogue or knightmage.

I think Marbari vendor sells them though not 100% sure on that and he is down in the bottom of that deep valley on left side of the Hissing Wastes.

Hissing waste mercvhant sells armour arms and legs. OP asked for the mail versions for arms and legs. Two totally different sets.

The only heavy armor part I am missing is the BattleMaster Coat Arms. How many hours of farming.... I dont really "farm". I simply never empty any chest in any area...

 

Thus, I can play the game normally and get those schematics. Also make revisiting areas to complete sub quests more interesting because there is always something to loot.

I dislike trying to get all the Skyhold appearance items more so than schematics. The ones specifically from resource hunting war table missions, I do not know which zone and which force type will give them so I just gave up on it. I tend to be a completionist more often than not but some of the things in this game are pure annoying. Broken Exalted Plains region for example which leaves me stuck on 20/21, I am also missing one bottle, two nursery seeds, three banners, six thrones and two songs, two the fall mosaics and one invasion mosaic...of which I am up to attack on well of sorrows temple in plot on my second character and also have around 300 spare power and full 20 influence.

 

I currently have 154 weapon schematics, 104 armour schematics and 16 recipes but do not know how many of each of those kind are in game so do not know if missed many. OP are you sure there is even a battlemaster (mail) armour arms and legs or is there just battlemaster armour arms and legs but not a specific (mail) type? I have the battlemaster arms and legs schematics but no 'mail' specific arms and legs listed so I am wondering if is a mail specific kind or whether the battlemaster armour arms and legs is the ones for both mail and non-mail. There is battle(mage) mail legs etc but I am not sure is a battlemaster (mail) arms and legs.

I took screenshots of the chest location where I farmed for my T3 masterwork & superior schematics (armor & weapons).  Ive been trying to post the images in this thread and the forum is freezing.

 

what I mean is when I click the icon "Image" to add a pic to my reply,  then click "ok" to submit the page then freezes up completely. I went to test if this was a broken window but its not.

 

Is there a special trick to submitting a screenshot?  photobucket is what im using.
