For some reason, when I think of Fiona, I picture me giving her the eye and making her blush while sipping on wine from across a ballroom while this is playing in the back:

I would not have pegged you as a romantic, Colonel.

Ha, I get that a lot  But I'm a terrible terrible hopeless romantic in reality. I write smutty fanfic and even poetry on occasion. Here's what I wrote up for Cassandra.

If he didn't bang someone not named Rowan every so often, his Rod of Lordly Might stopped working.  FiFi just happened to be in the right place at the right time when he needed a recharge.

Any man who fathered Alistair and Calian probably shouldn't be allowed to have functional equipment...

Felt like a mercy killing tbh; I had to put her down like Old Yeller.

Where'd you even get the option to kill her?

If you run the Templar side, she's the boss at Haven.

After the Templar choice/closing the breach, she hops the fence at Haven like the rabid dog that she is and you can put her down.

Lol @ maric hating. He put down a man very identical to gaspard like a rabid dog that he was and with help of Loghain defeated a whole front of chevaliers who spend whole their life training and using elves as target dummies with city elves (ah the sweet irony) and barbarians and finally owned him on a single combat on fort Drakon and changed it into a prison where he kept Orlesian prisoners without changing the name.

Maric

Yes it turns out when you stop supporting an army, it begins to fail. Go figure.

As a Fiona fan I wasn't affected by it at all. You kill a female elf named Fiona with zero comments, reactions or anything else from anyone. Its like you never see her. I actually missed her the first time. Didn't realize I ever fought her.

Pointing out valid character flaws is 'hating' now?  The man couldn't keep it in his pants.  He was an adulterer, and, as far as I'm concerned, that's not something to be proud of and certainly not worthy of veneration.

You didn't get it, did you. No one is flawless and his flaw was not being able to keep it in his pants. He did many great things that are worthy of venerating.

Does it matter? Majority of Orlesian forces was gone, specially the Chevaliers. For reinforcing their garrison at Ferelden before maric marched to retake Denerim they had to risk moving the vital forces to Ferelden and risk emptying Nevarran border or face an elven uprising. Orlais was outplayed nonetheless.

And?  Last time I checked, we were talking about his inability to keep it in his pants.

I am curious, where is it stated that Chevaliers are sent to the alienages for the sole and utter purpose of slaughtering elves?

TME but it isn't anything but an ceremony. You kill criminals out past curfew, occasionally for worse things.

None of them were innocent of not following the law of the Empire in some fashion.

In TME and other places.

Such as codex:

"Sadly, some members of the order abuse their power to commit atrocities that will not be recounted here. All decent Orlesians know them to be no true knights. One day, they shall answer to the Maker Himself."

And Lissle on Denerim:

"Chevaliers hold absolute power over those of commoner rank. The brutality of certain members of the chevaliers is infamous, and considering that the knighthood is above legal reproach, the lower Orlesian classes fear the knighthood as much as those of higher standing adore it. Indeed, chevalier privilege often leads to abuses against the common classes. The poor and powerless must tread carefully in the wake of such license or risk great danger to themselves and their loved ones"

Chevaliers are above the law when it comes to people below their rank and status.
