Has anyone taken to twitter, and a certain writer with this info? I doubt they'll confirm or deny it being real, but they may start paying attention to the sort of reactions it has sparked.

With the fear that we may have to kill him renewed, I feel like starting a preemptive #SaveSolas movement.

:C

Also the revelation that my well drunk Lavellan will be spiritually handcuffed to Morrigan like a comedic scene in a cop drama is somewhat unsettling. Being spiritually handcuffed to Solas would be another thing entirely, however.

Mmmmmhmmmmm.

I loved your reply to the reddit post lol!

Whatever Solas ends up as. Evil god, or powerless failure. I just want to end up with him. And have a sex scene.

Just let me end up with him.

Being railroaded into killing your LI would be the shittiest thing BioWare has ever done and I for one would would walk.  There has to be choice, they should know that, the shitstorm would be IMMENSE.

The choice has to be major, in my opinion, not unlike the choice one has to make at the end of NWN2.  True evil vs. true good.

I really liked that, as it really felt that my choice changed the world.  Then again, they can't really do that with the DA series unless they intend to end it soon, I guess.

2022. Solas doesn't show up again until DA5, the last game they have planned (at the moment).

Going to any devs is pointless because they definitely will not confirm or deny anything. They're also on holidays with their fams. This wasn't released but rather found, so they're not gonna comment lol. :P It is what it is.

I kinda liked my made up choice. You can either take away all his power and prevent the end of the world or whatever, and you end up with him and build a life with a mortal Solas. Or let him be a god king, and be forced to kill him and he tells you he loves you and is sorry with his dying breath.

I think that would be enough of a sacrifice.

I swear if there is ever a chance for Lavellan to become a goddess/immortal and live happily ever after together with Solas... I will take it and never look back.

I'm just imagining a scene some time after he causes the veil to fall apart (guessing this is what he is trying to achieve, relying on Sandal's prophecy), and the consequences begin to show up.

The Inquisitor finds him standing on a cliff, melancholy written on his face.

Some dialog, he falls on his knees, the choice to kill him or not...

And for a romanced Lavellan - she goes to up him and holds him against her, saying "you foolish, foolish man"

T_T

-Goes on fantasizing some more-

Edit: and for Sashimi_taco - sex scene on a cliff while the whole world is falling apart! WOOHOO!

A choice like that might ruin every future romance in a game ever.

WAT why would you say that?

What is your basis? Stop it. Stop that.

I'm still holding out for him being able to change into a wolf.

Wolfdragon!  Isn't that kind of what the last mural looks like anyway?

This is nothing like Mac Walters's hardon for Liara. =/

I mean as far as the writing itself goes. It is a development note, not something to be over analyzed too much as far as the wording goes. The takeaways are the overall plot points. [For instance- the way it is written is slightly contradictory as far as what the agreement is between Solas and Flemeth. Or if there is even an agreement.]

I doubt writers will comment on the developer notes, but I'm sure they also knew we'd find it eventually. What I want to know is if there are some DLC lines floating around inside the game. That tends to be when we get to the real meat of the spoilers.

In light of this I have to wonder if Solas really did kill you-know-who.

Not this one.

Welp, I'm thoroughly depressed now. Just found this out... *sigh*

In all honesty, I can see it as being true. There was a line, just before the "break up" with Solas, where if you choose the option to say you'd restore the world to (mostly) what it was, he gives the most approval and says something like  "You honor the past and work to recover what was lost, even if the cost is high." then he thanks you for the reminder. So yeah, I think Solas is willing to sacrifice much to restore things to the way they were, or perhaps to rectify a past mistake.

Though he does try to avoid doing bad things. He is definitely not a "bad" person, he's just *extremely* committed to his cause.

I really, really hope we are not forced to do something we *really* don't want to do. I think I will just drop it all if I have to kill Solas ._.

I am still on the fence about Felessan. Mostly because I don't really see what killing him would accomplish, although we do know that Solas can have a temper at times. After the mages in his [loyalty?] mission, I never really doubted that Solas had the potential to kill someone. I'm just not sure if Felessan was apart of it.

We don't really know what Solas is trying to do to save/restore the elven empire. We assume that its to release the elven gods, but there's a fair bit of evidence against that too. I'm not going to completely rule out another party at work here until we learn more about what his end goal is.

Edit: And, as for people worrying about having to kill Solas. I can't think of a single sympathetic bioware villain that we were forced to kill. That doesn't mean he'll survive a DLC/second game. [Solas has death=redemption foreshadowing pretty hard.] But I don't think the Inquisitor would be forced to kill him.

Yep.  Makes total sense to me that Fen'Harel would kill his meat-disguise once he is done with it.

I know what you mean. I can see Solas killing him if he saw it as a betrayal to the cause, but I can also see there being a third party.

Your words about sympathetic villains being allowed to live gives me hope. If there is no chance then...

Merry Christmas to us, then.

Indeed. I'll bring us some Christmas cheer by also posting the song the Dalish sing about Fen'Harel during holidays here. (I rhymed.)

You know Elgar’Nan and Mythal and Falon’Din and Dirthamen

You know Andrul and Sylaise and June and Ghilan’nain

But do you recall

The one said to have tricked them all…

Fen’Harel the deceitful Dread-Wolf

Had a very convincing prose

And if you ever heard it

You would believe every word he spoke

All of the elven pantheon

Used to ignore Fen’Harel’s game

They never let the Dread Wolf

Live up to his many names

Then one foggy Arlathan Eve

The Dread Wolf had his way

“Creators and Forgotten Ones tonight

I'm going to put an end to the fight”

Then how all The People loathed him

As he giggled madly with glee

Fen’Harel the deceitful Dread Wolf

You’ll go down in history
