honestly i want a female elf warrior enougth whith the pointy eared rangers and Mages already.

i was chuffed that Fenris was a warrior.. then he went all Brooding Emo.

But we already have a nonmage "elf"-Sera

PS. Actually i would not mind have somethink like female version of  Tevinter supersoldier like Fenris was, i in my canon always give prototype back to Magister Danarius and Verana so maybe they will create some more super elfs for Tevinter army.

Fenris, a knight in shining armor? ...I'm not seeing it.

He is shining but not a knight

She doesn't get her clan killed :P

It is Hawke who CAN do this, not Merril.

Actually - what all these  "Bioware give us X or Y companion" threads need to be redirected as:  "Bioware... FTLOG give us a mod kit so WE, the players, can create the content we want in the game."

Seems to me like that would be a lot more useful than begging them to do something we know they aren't going to do.

Even if we had a mod kit, it's long like there are a lot of companion mods floating around for DAO. It's REALLY difficult for people without professional-level resources to add characters to a fully-voiced game with a lot of cinematic cut scenes. It's not it is in Baldur's Gate 2, where every modder and their dog can make a companion and integrate them into the game fairly seamlessly with a basic level of skill.

Despite some things in DA2 i will dissagree that Merril was so bad in DA2 as Anders in DA2 what changes a lot and not in a good way

Merril just need more polishing and she is kinda makes more sense as companion or agent in Inquisition rather than Sera

Anders had an excuse. He was merged with a spirit therefore his personality was forever changed. Merril on the other hand was a fool who dabbled in blood magic regardless of how many times she was warned against it. She didn't want to listen to her keeper or any of your companions until it was too late. Her lack of intelligence really turned me off from her character

It's so weird because I really liked Corpse!Justice as a companion in Awakening, and I liked Anders as a companion in Awakening, but yeah, the personality clash of Anders!Justice I just couldn't stand.

Varric refused to enter the fade in DA2, so why go now?

Really? I take him into the Fade all the time in DA2 since he never turns on me and doesn't leave me to fight everyone on my own.

Also, while I do agree that I wish there were some changes in romance options and that the fact that BioWare does offer companions and even romance that makes me feel more emotionally attached to the game, it is the story and fighting that makes the game, not who you can romance. I can understand the irk on romance options, as a Female human I only have Cullen to romance since she is straight and I hate Bull's character, which leaves me with either Cullen (which I like since he reminds me of Alistair, who is my Fav romance out of all DA games so far)  or no one, it isn't a big deal for me since the story/game play is more important. Would I like to see some DLC's with better romance options, you betcha, but it is not as big of deal as what some people seem to make it on here.

With a really robust kit, like Skyrim has, it is very possible. The recording is so pretty easy; you don't need a million dollar recording studio to record voices. The difficulty is finding the talent. There are a lot of Skyrim mods with voices that technically sound good, but aren't acted well. Then you need to bring these three things together.

That's right Maverick!!

I just purchased a brand new professional quality Microphone, and have already been contemplating doing voice-overs to add a 3rd, and potentially 4th voice for player characters.

I'm a perfectionist, and have years of studio recording experience to boot.

I am however, dreading the process of finding all the dialogue options.  Seems daunting without an actual script in hand.  I'm not even sure the mod community will even be able to support swapping voice/audio files, but with the software and gear I have I can create virtually any audio format in existence.  How to get them in-game as an option, is beyond the scope of my expertise.

Sorry, can't help with the process of doing female voice-overs.  Try as I might, even with tweeks and effects, I can't make my voice sound like a woman's.

That being said:  I 'almost' firmly believe that the 'deep' male PC voice is the same actor as the 1st, with his voice pitch-shifted down a smidge.

The modders toolset is able to extract sound/text files so maybe it will help you : http://daitools.free...s.org/index.php

I don't know if they will be able to implement new voices BUT anything can happen, imo.

Just not yet since the toolkit is WIP and new.

If you have any question feel free to ask them on their forum.

I think the problem in DA would be the lack of interaction with the characters who are already in the game. Even with a comprehensive mod kit, you'd have a hard time getting a mod character to have voiced banter with the other companions or cut scenes like the one where Cullen and Dorian play chess or Solas and Varric come along on Cole's personal quest.

Merril on the other hand was a fool who dabbled in blood magic regardless of how many times she was warned against it. She didn't want to listen to her keeper or any of your companions until it was too late. Her lack of intelligence really turned me off from her character

soo

Merril is a fool because she was become a blood mage and use blood magic? i do not even talk about that her gameplay class is a blood mage and she is do blood magic in combat and cutscenes

ok i do not now how being blood mage and do blood magic makes mages fools, but lets starts with who and why...

She was become a blood mage, because stupid Merethari send her unprepared aprentice for that tainted mirror and Merril as Mahariel got blight what Merethari cant heal and Merril was get died because of this..actualy one of the cutted origins in DAO was a dalish mage who would have the same fate so we can be in the place of Merril if this origin was not cutted wtih human commoner

So merril does not let her die and she is learn blood magic and heal herself  from blight and clean the mirror shard

She want to restore Eluvian becuase this is what dalish do to save and restore ancient knoledges and for what they and their Keepers stands for, and  i am not even talk that not even dalish would kill(but merril does not kill and sacrifice anyone) dozens for that knoledge and working mirror

and she is do blood magic with demons/spirits contracts without killing anyone for more than 10 years,

she does doing that alone and far away from clan and she is not have any lyrium and help from her possesed by demon keeper merethari

and she was rely on blood magic and contats with demons because Merethari who was possesed by demon force her to do so and wait years when Merril will go for that cave and possesed Merethari danger her clan who have lost everything and slavers with templars as demons-undead attack them for years., many dalish die because of Merethari

Anders who was do blood magic and Merethari who was also was a blood mage specially posses themselfs with demons for their own sakes and believes, hawke was a apostage from apostages and blood mages family and i will not talk what he and his compani was done with red lyrium, anders, corynfeus, duke prosper

in the hole Hawke company only Merril was innocent and do not do specially or have any consequences by their own actions what cause bad stuff for thedas and their peoples, only what Merril do is restore a body of Flemeth with a soul of Mythal

I fully agree with your initial post. Straight female elf companion is exactly a thing I would like to see.

Using this opportunity I will link my thread about the same thing:  http://forum.bioware...dlc-suggestion/

The more straight elves the better

I'd rather writers didn't create characters based on petitions.

I'll admit how they did it in DA2 was the one thing I liked about the game. I could romance anyone of them and I didn't have to remember ok so and so is a female only oh and I have to be a human or elf to romance them.

I'm hoping that as the DAI mod tools progress they will eventually work out a way to kill off these romance locks.

Oh god yes I did the same thing on my male mage so many times and got nothing out of it!!

I could have handled the race/gender locks but the over all lack of romances is what killed that side of the game for me so many lost opportunities.

Besides Vivienne there was also Liliana and Varric that would have been fun.

Try this on. Liliana romanced warden in DAO, Liliana not hardened, Warden dies, Liliana believes she will never find love again, She meets the inquisitor. finds what she thought she'd never have again.

Varric obviously would have to be a Dwarf inq only as he states in DA2 he isn't into human women.

At this point I really don't think Bioware will add another companion or LI to this game. And even if they did, I don't feel they'd fit in right, since they weren't there from the start.
However, I do hope the gents get a bit more racial diversity for LIs in the next game. Of the six romances for straight men, five of them have been humans - with no racial choice at all in DAO and DAI - so I think it would be refreshing to have an elf/dwarf/qunari LI in DA4 (especially our first dwarf LI!).

My only worry about them adding in new comps/LIs via DLC (most likely won't happen) would be a repeat of Sebastian.

Sebastian: I love you

Hawke: I love you too

Sebastian: Lets get married

Hawke: ok

Sebastian: Oh but we can't sleep together is that ok with you?

Ehhhh WTF!!  :o

What's the point of this? Hasn't it become clear enough yet that Bioware isn't responding to feedback & suggestions, save for self-congratulatory posts in threads that merely gush over the game?
