My Comp Configuration is as the following,

i7 3770k

GTX690

16GB

Windows 8.1 64bit

My setup should be able to run this game perfectly even under the ultra setting, but I don't know why for the first couple of minutes of playing the game is super smooth, then suddenly it gives me this freaking lag when I move my character?

Is there anyone else having this problem?? I installed the latest game patch, and the latest Nvidia driver. Any possible solutions??? Much appreciated! And Merry Christmas everyone.

First of all, Merry Christmas to you too my friend!  :D

I hope you'll be reassured to hear that this is something that everyone on the PC is experiencing, even though some might not be as sensitive to it as others. I, for one, run the game on the system detailed in my signature, with every graphical setting on "High", except for Textures (Ultra), Tessellation (Off) and MSAA (Off). Using these settings I found that the game is pretty much always locked at 60 FPS, with the exception of combat (-1 frame, for obscure reasons when touching an enemy's hitbox) and a few problematic areas (the war table, for instance, which takes away 2 frames while changing from Orlais to Ferelden and back).

I think I have tried everything I could to make the game as smooth as possible without sacrificing on visual quality and I ended up using the above graphical settings, paired with "-GameTime.MaxSimFps 59.99 - GameTime.ForceSimRate 59.99+ -GameTime.MaxVariableFps 59.99" in DA:I's "Game Properties" window in Origin (for a 60 FPS cap) and the following "user.cfg" file:

PerfOverlay.DrawFps 1

WorldRender.MotionBlurEnable 0

WorldRender.LightTileCsPathEnable 0

WorldRender.TransparencyShadowmapsEnable 0

These are the settings that worked the best for my configuration. You are more than welcome to give them a try and see for yourself if they help you at least a bit with your problem. Have a nice holiday and don't be upset - it's just how the PC port turned out. If anyone is to blame at this point, it's BioWare.  -_-

P.S. We also have a dedicated thread amassing all of the currently available knowledge on tweaking the PC version to make it run better. You can check it out and see if it can help you further by clicking here;)
