Edit: http://forum.bioware...-recommend-it/

Similar thread with some replies to give you perspective.

I'll just paste what I put to another user:

3 Maps, generic enemies, bucket-loads of game-breaking bugs and no update from devs regarding fixes. I'd wait several months if your only intention for the game is to play MP. By then it will hopefully be fixed and have more content. It can be fun when it works, but the quality is severely lacking in multiple regards, from the loot system to enemy and map variety.

It has the potential to be good - and I would stress that - but at present is fundamentally broken and basic. So again, wait a few months and keep your eye on it.

I'm really enjoying it.

I put around 800 hours into MEMP and have put around 40 hours into DAMP so far.

It's not the same game, MEMP is probably still the more addictive game

but DAMP is certainly enjoyable as long as you don't expect to max your equipment very quickly - some patience is required.

MEMP also grew significantly from the base game, DAMP will do the same.

There are a few glitches - on XB1 I'm glitching out maybe 1 game in 10 - I understand PC gamers may be having a harder time.

But I'm sure most of these issues will be resolved.

You've already got the game. Why not just actually try playing it? Unless the plan is to swap it for something else...

Yes. It might take a while to warm up to it but you'll become addicted . .slowly but surely.

It's pretty addictive. I booted it up for the multiplayer event weekend to see what it was, and haven't stopped playing since.

It's buggy though. Quite annoying to lose progress due to keys not dropping halfway through a map...

WHY DO YOU COMPARE MASS EFFECT TO DRAGON AGE? It's like comparing cheese to BLOODY HITLER

That might be just a tiny bit exaggerated.

It's a pretty good game, and I say that with...well, more time than is probably healthy in ME3MP. I've really enjoyed DAMP so far. Still not used to a lack of dodge and jogging but the crafting aspect of it is pretty cool.

Because they:

1. Are made by the same company and some of the original employees

2. Are 3rd person action games

3. Are add-on's to singleplayer

4. Are co-op's with 4 players

5. Have gear and level progression

6. Have chests purchasable with credit/gold/$$$

And most importantly, because ME3MP is better in almost every way.

Yes play the game. The game has some frustrating bugs but there's some serious toxic bitterness over the whole thing that's prevalent in these forums. I implore you to play the game and form your own opinion.

... And all of that has miinimal relevance in an objective comparison beyond cursory superficial similarities. It's not Dragon Age's fault that it's not Mass Effect.

The RNG plays to some serious gambler's fallacy which ups the addictive factor, though luckily, unlocking armor takes it out of the RNG. Unfortunately, though, what amounts to vendor trash which you need to break down for salvage materials is exceptionally common. It might be helpful to build up a good stock of potions through, well, potions or small chests.

Because of BSN too. For instance, I have seen the OP on the ME3MP part of BSN, and many other profiles around here were also commonly seen there.

And ME3MP isn't just better in almost every way, it is far superior in every way conceivable.

I blame the public education system for not teaching people basic reasoning skills.

I say this as someone with >1000 hours of ME3MP and almost all of my 5000 posts on the BSN having been made in the ME3MP subforum...

This circlejerk is getting very tiresome.

The loot system is not really similar to Warframe. Weapons/armor/accessories/upgrades drop at random from store chests, just like ME3MP (sometimes from in-game treasure rooms too). The ones you don't want can be broken down into crafting materials, which can be used to craft a small pool of new armors and upgrades, including new characters (slightly more like Warframe here). Consumables drop from store chests as well, same way as ME3MP; they can't be crafted like Warframe.

Someone on the forum said he didn't understand why people compared ME3MP to DA3MP. I explained it. And what I get is insults like this? Your amount of time in ME3MP and your number of posts mean nothing when you lack reading comprehension. The only thing that matters is that ME3MP set standards and had features which many people wish existed in DA3MP, and these features and methods of implementation could have been and could still be put into DA3MP, which would make DA3MP significantly better.

And no, we're not comparing ME3MP and DA3MP because we are unable to distinguish between a FPS and a fantasy game. If you believe that, then it is something wrong with your logic.
