Isn't Celene and Briala's relationship horribly abusive and generally crappy?

The relationship between Celene and Briala had its issues, but that isn't surprising considering we're talking about the orlesian court here and their respective social status. But it wasn't abusive. Briala used her influence on the empress to get what she wants...and it was obvious that Briala needed Celenes comfort just as much as Celene needed hers. Briala being raised to noble status should also solve this problem.

Don't forget how if you manage to reconcile them, Briala is perfectly willing to completely forgive Celene for everything she did and if Celene dies, Briala seems a bit angry and distraught which indicates she still has feelings for Celene.

I would seriously lol if the Keep wound up only having "Gaspard who invaded Ferelden" as an option. How would all the Gaspard supporters react then?

Of course people would be pissed off, Celene supporters would also be pissed off if the only option they had in the Keep was Celene breaking ties with the Inquisition ect.

The fact is this, people who picked Gaspard have the option to be a loyal friend to him, have him make peace with Ferelden which allows him and Ferelden to focus on Tevinter. That outcome should be respected, just like any other outcome for Celene and Briala.

I'm still not really sure who the ruler is gonna be in my canon.

I think Celene & Briala isn't a bad combo for Orlais, but I'm tempted to place Gaspard as well.

It just sucks that you can't verbally smack down Florianne if you want him on the throne.

Empress Celene. Briala and Celene do sound good but i'm not going to put them together due to bad history they have.

In my 2nd pt, i wanted to make the 3 of them work together and failed. Again.

Bioware should have given us an option to play the game and kill all 3 of them to take the thrown. Inquisition eventually would have become the royal guards

The point was to stop chaos, not create it. You are not Orlaisian, you taking the throne would have created a massive war in Orlais which would just give Cory more to work with.

Never.

Just because you don't like it does not mean it should be excluded from the Keep. It's an outcome that can happen and should be respected, what ever comes from it in the next game is a different can of worms, but in DAI that is an outcome and if that is excluded in the keep, fans have every right to be pissed.

Isn't one of the options getting Celene and Gaspard killed and letting Birala and the elves take over Orlais?

I had those three boneheads work together.

If they want to burn the country to the ground after Corypheus is dead I no longer give a damn.

Never.

you don't want to show these backwater peasents that Tevinter is the better nation and use the opprotunity to annex Orlais into the Imperium :P

I chose Briala and Celene beacuse even if their relationship is extremely sick and dysfunctional, they ultimately look happy together.

Also, more importantly, they seem to be my kind of rulers.Progressive, fight for culture and people's rights instead of military action.

You'll get more influence out of Florianne when she's dead more than alive anyway, and if I remember it correctly even if she's dead you'll still get her perk to reduce the time it take for Josie to complete missions...so...

I've kept Celene on the throne and made all three of them lick my boots so far, I think this time I'm going for Gaspard.

First, I had chosen Celene. But she ordered Gaspard killed and I didn't like it. I thought she'd be a more balanced, fair ruler.

Then, I chose to let her die and placed Gaspard in power. I thought: we need military support for the Inquisition. Also didn't like it. He became tyrannical and a potential threat to Ferelden.

Next, I denounced Florianne and still couldn't get Gaspard to rule. Not only that, but Celene punished Briala. I didn't like it.

Finally, I supported Briala and placed Gaspard on the throne. I didn't like to let Celene die, but what to do.

Briala is reliable, sends me reports warning me of hidden enemies and Gaspard's expansionst tendency is contained. For now, I'm content with that outcome.

*I* chose Celene, while trying (and failing) to give Briala's people a foothold in the court.

I am usually not a fan of military types in politics. Gaspard was not terrible but I was just not real impressed either. Also, the Inquisition already has many forces, so choosing someone for their military support just felt redundant to me. I felt the Inquisition would benefit more from political support that Celene brought. And, since I value intelligence very highly, Briala's elven agents also looked attractive to me (but again, ...). And lastly, Celene's political focus was more to my liking than that of Gaspard's.

However, I have since entered the role-playing phase and my Qunquisitor is likely thinking "never again" right about now as he wraps up playing "The Game." So, in light of that, we're throwing our lot in with Gaspard.

To be fair, there are a few decisions available on the keep where the full spectrum of options is not accurately represented, including some major storyline decisions.

Of course, I don't want to encourage them in doing that any further.

Elf Mage- Celene, though I had the intention of Briala. Was hoping there was a way to do it without killing her off.

Human Rogue- Gaspard. Intentional.

Dwarf Rogue- Celene. Again unintentional but still was working out the mechanics of Halamshiral and desired outcomes

Elf Warrior- Briala. Intentional.

Human Mage- Celene. Was trying to get the one where all three work together but not enough halls statues.

Qunari Mage- Celene Gaspard and Briala work together

First time, I selected Celene with Gaspard in exile. Second time I made the three of them work together.

Personally I don't care who rules Orlais because I don't care what happens to Orlais so long as it doesn't benefit my enemy. I'd be perfectly happy to see Orlais rot and collapse on itself in decadence and decay after the Elder One is defeated. Wouldn't shed a single tear for it.
