Of note I have three names for three different characters:

 

For my Human Mage Grey Warden I call him Bane.

 

For my Dwarf Noble Warden I call him Trian after my late brother. That way I can say "Bad boy Trian!"

 

For all of my Hawke characters I simply call him Rend.

Nice!  I named my F!Cousland Meave, and I've seriously considered naming mabari Cuchulain or Cu Roi.  I have a special fondness for Gaelic or Scandinavian names in fantasy games xD

Hehehe my Cousland also names his dog Calenhad.

 

My Mahariel names her hound Revas, which is elven word for freedom.

Brosca names hers Salroka, which means friend in dwarven and it's the word most commonly used by the casteless.

My Surana didn't stop by the kennels nor picked the flower in the wilds so no doggy for him.

Tabris killed the dog at Ostagar because she is afraid of large dogs and let's say that seeing a Mabari hound brought back some memories of one being sicked on her back when she lived in the alienage.

Actually i kind of name it after an important person in the Origin story. If i play a Dalish Elf i name it Tamlen. If i play Dwarf Noble then its Gorim and so on. It is so my warden never forgets the people that were important in his or her life before the ritual.

I called my current Female HM noble's Mabari ... Kibrean.

My female Cousland named him Ardal after Ardal Cousland.

All other Couslands, I named him "Lars" because I liked that name and imagine it was a spin-off of how he always got into the larder. But then I once typo'd and accidentally named him "Lard". So that works too.

I've only done that once so far (F!Tabris named hers Nelaros) but I do like the idea.  (In fact, my planned primal specialist F!Surana now wants to name hers Jowan.  Or possibly Anders.)
