Rufus. I already had to think of a name for my Warden. Thinking of a second one so soon after was horrible. I think it was a combination of randomly remembering Bill and Ted, and a cartoon I'm too ashamed to name.

"Bull". Coz the very first time I've saw a Mabari dog I just said:That's not a dog,that's a bull!

My current Warden, a Mage who hates the Chantry, called his Greagoir, just for his own amusement.

But naming him in an unexpected reunion on the road? No time to give it too much thought, so it seems only natural to go with something simple.

My canon Surana named hers "Muffin" and I head canon'ed it was his favorite treat. My Cousland (both) named him "Hohaku" after the story. Not very original I guess since several others did too, but it seemed the most logical and I'm horrible at making up names of protagonists in games let alone companions. My Brosca called hers "Salroka".

I like to give Dog names from characters of books I liked - I use Sherlock a lot (one of my rabbits is also called Sherlock), Luna, Moriarty (yeah, I'm a Sherlock Holmes fan), Tyrion, Hannibal (he eats the rude)
My Dalish warden called her dog Tamlen, after her lost friend
My Cousland is called Alighiera, so naturally the dog is called Dante (I was reading the Divine Comedy when I made that character
)

Blargha sounds like an Orc name, really.
I know... it's so out of place.. but I had to use it. My City Elf and his dog starts living out his dream. ![]()

Where was "Blargha" in the CE origin? ![]()
for silly names, Ser Pupperton or Ser Bumpus work. For actual names, I think dwarf commoner and Dalish and mage would just call it "dog" since they don't have a concept of domesticated pets and are practical. I like Shartan or even Harel (short for Fen'Harel obvs) for CE. Noble I think would have a stupid kid's name for the dog since they named it when young, but then make a more sensible name when they became a teenager and were embarrassed at calling for Puddles across the castle. Dwarf noble maybe name it after an honored ancestor.
I never named the mabari this in DA2 but I have seen people name it Carver ![]()

Let's see, for a muscular, macho dog like our Mabari -- I kept using the name "Edgar"! In every playthrough with every Origin!

When you talk to the little kids in the alley, they're playing as "human heroes" like Maric and Andraste. You have a chance to tell the kids about elven heroes instead. Blargha is some warrior you tell them about. You can also tell them about Tathas or King Korin. For some reason, Soris only expresses surprise when you talk about Blargha. It's such obvious bullshit.
