If this has been posted before, I apologise, I am sleepy. Forgive me. If it hasn't, you should probably know. A reddit user ("Libito") did some datamining, see here, and found some designer notes about the ending scene.

I'm going to put it in spoiler tags since it could spoil future DA stuff, so maybe you don't want to read it.

Interesting. So, as I first interpreted it, they basically wanted to write "Flemeth" (the character as we knew her) out of the story, so tied up her loose ends. Same with OGB. Makes Morrigan's last "wait!" extra sad  :(

I just wonder what solas' goal of saving the elven race means for other races.

On the one hand, cool. On the other, this takes all the irony away from me binding Morrigan to her forever.

Mmmm it's interesting?

Although I'm curious about passing her "Godhood" to Morrigan?

I suppose that's what Flemeth was doing with the Eluvian before Solas appears...it's strange there's nothing in the epilogue mentionning this though.

A hint at Morrigan becoming something greater.

If it's true it's kinda cool , I had many theories and one of them was Flemeth (didn't know she was Mythal , I thought she was some kind of important force of balance or something...) would pass her power to Morrigan at one point.

And Morrigan would end up the new Flemeth.

On the more darker side of things , Morrigan will get a piece of Mythal .I know Morrigan enjoys power and likes to save old dusty stuff (when they are valuable) but Mythal is really really bitter.

And she has her own plan of vengeance .

Morrigan was heading towards a better place in my game , with Kieran , and drinking the well was like eating a big slice of humble pie.

It would be sad if Mythal bitterness corrupts her (although nice if Morrigan can influence Mythal in her more nuturing /mother role)

And on a really really darker note , Solas willing to "kill anyone" to save the elves?Oh good times ahead , they could have written Solas is going to be the new DA antagonist ...

Anyway really cool information.

... No matter what happens, I will always respect you ...

Sounds ominous to me. Solas may like your Inquisitor, but that won't stop him if he needs your anchor.

Sounds like that could be what we'll be dealing with in future expansions... or at least, I hope so. It wouldn't pack the same impact if a future protagonist has to deal with him/this instead.

'he will kill anyone -- even her' well that wasn't ominous or anything, especially when Solas' relationship with Mythal is likely much older and deeper than it is with the Inquisitor, and he still kills her. Whatever happens, I truly hope we aren't left to deal with this with another protagonist. But then, this feels like alot to pack into a minor dlc. Perhaps Bioware may decide on keeping the Inquisitor, just for one more game. One can hope...

The Morrigan part makes me happy though. I had thought that perhaps they had wrapped up her story in this game, but I am glad she will likely be playing a major role in the series' future. I am as well worried for her, if the 'god-hood' includes Mythal's lust for revenge.

We don't know. Heavily implied to be the other elven gods. [Minus Fen'Harel, until the end stinger.]

Wow. Well it does confirm my belief that Flemeth is more benign despite being so vague and cryptic. It does disappoint me to know that she is (at least implied to be) killed, if only because I really liked her character.

I do think either there's going to be a major expansion pack in the works dealing with Solas or at least the next game for sure. My question is regardless of who gets bound to Mythal, now that she's implied to be dead what comes of Morrigan/Inquisitor? Are they still bound, only now to Solas, or are they technically free?

I think Flemeth had some cards up her sleeve. We know she can somehow predict the future ...

It's possible the Well of Sorrows was her doing all along.

If Morrigan drank from the well , I assume once she get part of Mythal essence , she's completly free and gain the knowledge of the elven priests.Flemeth tells her "listen to the voices , they will teach you".

If the Inquisitor drank , you're probably bound to Morrigan.

I think Solas only get power from Mythal sacrifice and didn't absorb her soul .Flemeth send a tiny piece of Mythal soul for Morrigan behind his back.^^

I think Morrigan ends up bound to Morrigan(if she drank), and the protagonist(if she drank) ends up bound to... well, Morrigan again, since Morrigan becames Mythal in essence, if not in power.

Wo-ho that's some big news. Sooo.. I'm still not sure to make of all this. Solas has a certain worldview that he wants to uphold, he thinks that's the only way for some reason. Pride clouding his judgment again? Very interesting. Why does he believe what he's about to do is best for the elven people? Oh well, I'm certain we'll find out in a future dlc or game...

But, the revelation about Morrigan... just sad. Ugh, Flemeth, I always knew she wasn't all bad but she didn't have to be so damn mysterious all the time. :(
