Ah well, when it does release, I shall fall upon it like a love starved puppy on a friendly leg.

I wonder how the toolset will feel about that!

Well i am sure that the toolset is a complex piece of software for them to write in order for it to be effective to us. I dont mind waiting the extra days to get a good working product, i am sure they are doing everything they can. I can understand not telling us a concrete day to have it fixed they dont want to miss a date due to whatever wrong plus we dont know what the issue is we have no idea what it will take to fix. Take your time BioWare and get us the toolset bug free please.

Your notion was, once again, completely wrong.

*ahem* As I said, I *was* under the notion, but thanks for clearing it up. Re-reading some of my posts I guess I am just annoyed, but the tool set will come I suppose. I mean really, for a minute I forgot that people are whining about something they can do nothing about, so I'll be retiring from this situation before any other misconceptions begin. Thank you for clearing things up. /salute

If it were me, I would rip their hands off with my teeth for failing to explain to me what the hell was going on. I do NOT like being kept in the dark, and it does NOT help the tension level in these forums.

Edit: Doesn't help at all.

Quicklier!? Someone call Colbert!

Thanks for maintaining a status for us, though I too would appreciate some kind of general timeline. Something like "come back next week" would prevent me from checking a dozen times a day. That, and someone should change the banner on the download page to NOT say "Now available for download" when it isn't.

Confusing to say the least. Certainly someone could remove it for the time being. Gets me all excited for nothing! But that's okay, I guess, since I'm deeply in love with the campaign at the moment.

Honestly, I can live with the delay, but they really need to change the banner and remove the download link until the toolset's live. Otherwise, folks who go to the 'download' page and get the broken link will just think /they/ did something wrong until they come to the forums and look around.

C'mon, changing one graphic and a webpage can't be TOO hard... ;)

so is there any sort of time frame as to when we are able to access the toolset?

A small status change: the download page is now just a line of text that says, "toolset not available yet".

After two years of tears and misery with another toolset, I say take your time if it helps deliver a robust toolset that is not going to sulk and crash if I didn't touch it in the right spots.

Creating a good "usable" toolset is much harder, then creating a game itself. But they made the promise, they don't have any chance in going backwards, don't worry it will come out eventually, and for the meantime just enjoy the game and come up with new ideas.

By all means, release it when it's ready. I've still got plenty of days ahead of me absorbed in the enclosed campaign.

Looking forward to the toolset with much anticipation however.

Agreed. The one thing the delay has given me is time to sit and enjoy the campaign without just jumping into the toolset.  The experience in the game is giving me lots of ideas about what in my project will work, and what might not work so well.

Taking their time to ensure the toolset is to Bioware standards does not bother me at all.  Actually, it makes me that much more excited.

I hope it is just an issue they are working out to make it better, or perhaps they are working a solid mod website that is as fantastic TES nexus (i have never seen a mod site even close to TES, thank the maker for the kid who made it!)

but what would really make me sick is if they are trying to find a way to profit off of it, or if they are trying to make something where user mods must be paid for (like they do for the sims.)

or maybe they are just delaying it so players who beat it and want more will have to download the wardens keep to get their fix...

but i must have faith, this is a phenomenal game and maybe they are just adding some things to make the modding even better.

The current ETA on the toolset release is tomorrow morning (that is November 6th). We ran into some last-minute, unexpected installer issues that required fixing and testing. It is now ready, but it needs to wend it way through the system to appear on our servers.

As I said, if all goes well you can expect the toolset tomorrow morning.

Well that's a mitzvah. I was thinking we might not be seeing it until December, this is much better than December. Just no more last minute bugs, okay? Leave the code alone, it's fine, do not anger the code.

Nothing to prevent you from doing a little pre toolset work on them.  The more thought, notes, organization you are able to do before toolset release the quicker things will go when you have it. :)
