So.. I was thinking of a build that makes full use of the various means of healing available through crafting and talents, as I want to do a warrior as my next play through but do not want to rely on guard. I am still trying to work out the whole talent allocations but at the moment, I am just looking at weapons and armor..

naturally a lot of farming emprise du lion is required thanks to the RNG..

I generally play as an archer so playing as a warrior is rather foreign and so any suggestions or improvements would he ideal.

Basically I want to make full use of the Health on kill, Health on hit, 25% health over 10 seconds master crafts etc. It still needs some fleshing out.. but what I am currently looking at is this.

Helmet: Any - Not race restricted
Body: Superior Battlemaster Mail
Arms: Battlemaster Mail
Legs: Battlemaster Coat (or mail, 4 cloth def or 4 leather defense.. your choise)

Ring 1: Superb ring of life steal

Ring 2: Your choice. I would go with Stagger or Attack.. Bleeding once patched

Belt: Superb belt of healing

Amulet: Superb amulet of constitution

I didn't know it was any health on hit.

And what does healing increase really increase? Is it potions only given that it is only 1 group heal spell, 1 healing grenade and reaver self-heal?

Any healing, potions (healing, regen, mist grenade), reaver's devour, Health on hit, health on kill, 25% health over 10 seconds master crafted, if it heals you, it boosts it.

It's a good idea.. are you aiming to play as tank or damage, and what spec? While health on hit seems well worth boosting, health on kill appears to suffer from the issue that when you're likely to need it the most (facing difficult enemies), there generally won't be a lot of extras around to kill (though in some battles with add summoning mechanics I guess it can serve as a kind of restoration phase). On groups of regular enemies it seems unlikely that you would lose much health to begin with unless you go out of your way to take damage.

Reaver, DPS w. Taunt to draw aggro.. I know.. not the brightest of moves.. but need more around you to drink their vital fluids, that and there will be a lot of self mutilation. Still working out the talents however.

I doubt there's any Heal on Hit.

Assuming there's only Heal on Kill, how will this kill be effective during one enemy battle such as High Dragons. Plus, would it not be effective only if you are the one deliver the killing blow, what if your team steal your kill?

I'm just going to assume you have not gotten to the Exalted plains yet. Your doubt has been tried, weighed and found wanting.

If the ally steals the kill.. no problem.. What do you think warcry is for? Where most Reavers want to have as little aggro drawn as possible to leap around the battlefield.. I want to be in the thick of it taking all the hits.

If I have 66% health boost from armor.. the health on hit goes from 1% to 1.66% taking dragon rage's cost down to 0.34% of max health.. Add that to the 25% health over 10 seconds fade touched item.. hell, since this is a SnSh build, you get a third fade touched slot, chuck on obsidian chain lightning, or a 75% weapon damage on kill explosive material and watch your health maintain at a high enough rate so as to not need guard.

Infact going for HP is better than guard as  best guard is 5 per hit, maximum is guard is always 25% of base health. so at 700 hp its 175. A warrior can reach 900+ hp easy and any hp after 500 the 1% hp per hit pays a lot better than guard will ever do.

I have been trying this and honestly even on my rogue, the 1% heal is a lot better than guard. I personally believe a lot of people have oversold guard by quite a bit.

Btw the 25% damage as healing, does it work only for the last damage received or all damage received. Meaning if i get 2 hits will i get 25% heal for both those hits or only the last hit i took?

Doesn't guard make you immune to pysical effects like poison and stagger?

A 2H champion using this setup would be pretty good.

Some people have seen it already, but according to this thread devour isn't affected by healing bonus. Since this is the vampire build thread, it might be good to have it here too.

So how is this working out so far?  I've been playing around with "Heal 25% of damage taken over 10 seconds" and it's pretty good when combined with Barrier, but I'm not sure how well it would work with Guard.  Is all that healing you have enough to keep you alive?

I'll tell ya once I manage to get back onto single player to test it with Iron Bull. Been working on a lot of other things lately that I kept pushing my own theorycraft testing back.

Maybe this is only me but running heavy heavy guard and various heal over ten seconds seem to do weird things.

I tested this on a SnS Reaver Quiz. Got all damage reduction skills and + guard capacity skills and my gear was:
Armor heal 25% over 10 seconds

Shield: +5 guard

one hander: 3 seconds of walking fortress.

Basically i dropped myself to 50>% HP by jumping off cliffs a couple times. without my gear.

Put my gear on built up all my guard between shield wall / unbowed.

I ran into trash mobs with my guard never breaking + walking fort and kept coming out with more and more health.

60-65% then 80~% health.

basically, I have no other explanation other than I am healing damage "I have" but have not taken.

No reaver abilities used either.

Did the same thing.

Jumped off cliffs without gear

Put on gear, fight trash but use barrier and no guard abilities.

After 3 mobs I was at full health after never having my health bar take damage.

Is this a bug?

It's not a bug as far as I know.  The game seems to accept Guard and Barrier damage as "damage taken."  Since Barrier isn't affected by armor or any resistances, the "Heal X% of damage taken" items are very powerful when combined with it.

Also, in my limited testing, the different types seem to stack.  I basically dropped myself to about 10% health and then let a Revenant smack my barrier.  With the 25% version (Dawnstone), it healed a lot, but never to full health.  With the 25% on armor and 20% version on my staff, it healed me to full health every time.

Hey TC, you mentioned the Masterwork Tevinter Longsword above..have you managed to get it? If so where did you find it, because so far the only person to be confirmed as having it has said he hacked the game to get it...No one has found it..

Cheat engine, i finally used it and got the sword schematic that way. Screw the BS RNG for schematics.

Well if everyone uses the cheat engine, some people say Low RNG, maybe it's not at all...maybe it's locked or something...I truly don't think it's obtainable..I have farmed every day since the first week of this games release when people started figuring this stuff out..it's really BS and frustrating..
