Do you want to introduce infertility to the conversation?

No, it's a fair point! Let's discuss how BioWare totally fails to question the validity of the childfree lifestyle with all their rampant hetero procreational sexings.

Ah look its my old nemesis the realism argument.

But of course I'm bisexual so what do I know about reality.

Excuse me while I go have fun with the unicorns.

I agree it's a fair point. However, it was not being discussed.

And, you're still not talking about a lifestyle. Outside of Hawke, but if I'm not mistaken Hawke's mother actually does mention that she wants grandchildren. Am I remembering incorrectly?

I suppose Mama Hawke is going to have to learn how to get used to disappointment if her child ends up in a same-sex relationship (or is that lifestyle? I'm confused).

Though, really, that may be for the best. None of the four main romance options seem like they'd be a good co-parent. Sebastien probably would, but he refuses to sleep with you, soooo.....

I am clearly way too tired because I have no idea wtf this discussion is right now. Gay lifestyle being promoted by BW? You mean like all the straight flings you can have throughout the game, and the prostitutes you can hire? Is that the "lifestyle" being promoted for gay players that's acceptable for straight ones?

And I dunno about y'all, but I don't think getting knocked up when playing a straight female would really be conducive to the plot. I guess it could be an interesting side story, and then the bad guy can kidnap your kid and really make it personal...

...I'm going back to sleep.

Dorian's mission is the worst thing ever though, fact.

Even I could feel the agenda being shoved down the beginning of my digestive system.

(Try control + f-ing that, dave)

This thread reminds me why I have no interest in this forum anymore.

In response to the topic: It's a good idea, but it will never happen because Bioware has no interest, and in fact a vested interest in NOT, questioning the validity of the homosexual lifestyle*.

*Homosexual lifestyle refers to engaging in recreational sex that happens to be with members of the same sex, as opposed to procreational sex. There have been homosexuals who engaged in procreational sex for the sake of the family line/kingdom/whatever, and this isn't referring to that.

Every time I log in and check this thread I'm partly amused and partly disgusted. Fun times.

So, starting with Rubios. This is one of the fun ones. It's so out there and silly, you can't help but laugh. I suppose it's good to have this in any type of forum. Everyone has a laugh and everything is less tense.

Moving on to EntropicAngel. This is one of the not so fun ones. I mean really now. Someone using "homosexual lifestyle" in their vocabulary in any way other than a joke, and there's a smell here, I'm guessing it's not a joke, is probably impervious to logic, reason, etc, so why bother. What I think he/she is trying to say is that Bioware has a gay agenda and they try to shove said agenda down everyone's throat. Then the bizarre nonsense about "recreational sex" and "procreational sex" is further proof that this is one very angry individual.

I'll keep my distance, can anyone smack him/her with a gay agenda for me please? Thanks  ^_^

I love strawmen. And I'm so angry right now. Me, Zune, and World Machine, all very very angry.

Have fun.

So just say it already, do you personally have a problem with bioware including homosexual relationships in DA?

I have too many SUs to make. I meant to make one yesterday, but seeing a thread in the DA forums where everyone was shaming a person who asked if we could call Krem a she really...

Is cute. Gives a good clue about how you feel.

It's shaming to tell someone that using the wrong pronouns for another individual is wrong. I guaran-******-tee str8ty has met many transfolk and they didn't even notice it, and they'd be horrified to realize they used pronouns that go against their feels.

As if we give a **** what you feel about our identity.

No I do not. But be honest,is that going to change anyone's mind?

If it is going to change anyone's mind, I'll point out that I haven't romanced anyone in DA I yet, and the only romance I intend to do, eventually, is Sera's with a Traynor lookalike. Love Traynor <3.

Speaking of which, does anyone have any tips on creating Traynor in DA I? Wait, wait, back to being angry, sorry.

It does give a clue how I feel. You'll note the use of the word "shaming," and you'll note the lack of any words about how teh gays are terrible.

And you know, I was never one for all these fancy latin words, but I had to look it up: Ad hominem Gotta love it.

More seriously, this is "your" issue, not your viewpoints: the fact that anyone disagreeing is met with derision and not logic. Reminds me of a guy who used to be on here who got banned.

I can't get that warrielf out of my head, and even though I am trying to resist playing him (I need to finish with my mage... and my rogue...)... He's just so freaking pretty.

Darling, I wasn't misrepresenting your opinion or stance in the slightest. I was very accurately pointing it out, even though you seem to try to be so very subtle about it :) So I'm afraid you need to come up with a different word for me.

Like OHB said, you should just come out, so to speak lol, and say what's on your mind. I'm sure it'll help you loosen up a bit. :)

You weren't? Then, please tell me where I said that. Your words were that I think Bioware has a gay agenda and is trying to shove it down everyone's throat (unrelated: I must admit, I find that quote hilarious).

Quote me, please.

I'm super curious what an in-universe 'questioning of the homosexual lifestyle' would look like.

I mean, you sort of can, if Iron Bull and Dorian hook up. You can go to them and ask them all sorts of questions!

What kinds of questions? I must admit, my first playthrough was kind of a rush though just because I was more interested in the main story. And I'll be honest, the only characters I really found particularly interesting, initially at least, were Solas and Sera.

Edit: To elaborate further, I'm thinking something along the lines of how Varric occasionally asks Hawke questions, like whether Hawke wants to go back to Ferelden, if it's Hawke's home. But with Hawke's mother. And we can expand it to include all recreational sex! Imagine:

Leandra [upon entering the Amell estate]: My son/daughter, I have a question for you. I want grandchildren (I'm being particularly abrupt here, but it's the idea). I know you're {not involved with anyone/involved with [party member]}.

[If same sex or not involved]: What you're doing won't bring me a grandchild, or further the Amell family name. Do you plan to settle down one day?

Already spent too much time on that, but you get the idea.

Why would it be any different than in reality? Both involve a person who doesn't know about it asking people who are part of it about it.

Unless I am misinterpreting the use of the word questioning.

Dude, you're the one who started it by complaining that BioWare will not 'question the homosexual lifestyle.' Which you seemed to imply was about gay people having gay sex; as opposed to gay people having straight sex.

As far homosexual male relations go:

Kaidan > Cortez > Theron Shan > Blooming Rose's Dwarf > Anders >>>>>>> Zevran > Fenris > Dorian >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Iron Bull (eww Qunari).

Everyone knows that.

No, that's considered heresy and treason.

You should be looking for ways to kill those filthy Qunari spies, not bedding them.
