female american works for my Qunari and Dwarf English for the Human and Elf.

Pretty much this, and the same with the Male voices TBH, British/refined for Elf and Human, American/abrasive for Dwarf Qunari, the voices seem to fit the faces/builds better when matched like that for me.

I originally tried the American male voice on a human and it just felt like he was trying too hard to be gruff and gritty, I started making fun of my character's "batman voice" and knew I had to change it.

I adore Sumalee's voice, the husky thing definitely works for me. I like Alix's too, but only on a few specific Inquisitors. Usually the ones who are sweeter (or just snarky) and younger. Whereas I like Sumalee's for older characters and no-nonsense types, as well as pleasant or smartass ones.

Alix's voice is sweeter but she does the best "DIE!" Lol, it makes me giggle. Also her "good BYE" is pretty badass. She was Cauthrien, after all.

I can't speak for the female one as I'm actually yet to hear it but as for the male one I disagree, I didn't think I would like the accent initially but Jon Curry did amazing voice work on this project and I felt the male american voice was very well done.

The male american voice actor sounds like he has a deviated septum. He should have blown his nose before every sentence he read. Everything he says sounds uninteresting and he sounds uninterested in saying it.Just awful.

I like both the female voices. Haven't heard much of the male voices yet (although I love Jon Curry). Alix is great for an elf or human, Sumalee for a dwarf or qunari. Both do really good voice acting.

I was a bit disappointed in how flat I thought Sumalee's voice sounded, so went with Alix's for my qunari. However I am rolling a dwarf, and Sumalee's voice seems perfect for her. I am currently doing the Brit accent for my male elf so really haven't given the male American accent a run yet. It's the least appealing of all the voices I've heard for the quizzy so far, but it might suit at least one of my PCs.

Nice to have a choice to distinguish different PCs from one another.

Choose American female accent on my 2nd playthrough (human mage). She's actually pretty cool.

I agree. I very much liked the female American voice for my Dalish elf.

Really? OMG! She was one of my favorite characters in DA:O. So much that I actually have a 2h "knight" toon in a MMO that pays homage to her.

What was so special about her? I had to actually look that name up because I completely forgot about her, tbh. I pretty much just killed her and left her there on the floor, unless I let myself get caught for the awesome prison sequence.

I dunno, if you have a high enough persuasion score, you can talk her down from fighting you before the Landsmeet. You get to see that she really is noble at heart (you see a small glimpse of this at Ostagar but she won't stand up to Loghain) and will actually question her orders.

I have a max level Captain in Lord of the Rings Online that was named after her. My RP of that character fits her perfectly.

I did that a few times before too. I dunno, I just never really gave her much thought, so I was rather surprised to see people expressing such affection for her. But I have nothing against it of course, just curious.

It's not really complicated, the guy just sounds like a ***** to me, lol. I'm not talking all british people, mind you. I wasn't satisfied with the British one in Origins either. It's too fanciful I guess. Look at my avatar. Does that look like a guy that would sound like that? Lol:

Between that fancy red coat, the scarf, the beard/haircut and the hair colour? Yup, fanciful british accent seems just about right for him.

That beard and scar and general look is way too rugged for that british voice actor if you ask me. It just doesn't match his face at all. Fancy coat and scarf or not.

I like that they gave us choices, but having first played a female warrior with a British accent and now playing a male with an American one, I think the female British had a lot more character and personality to it. I agree the American male voice is better with jokes, though.

I'm trying to decide between the American and British one for my next male Trev playtrough. I've done the American one till about Skyhold and the British one completely. There are two lines that really got snagged in my brain, the one is where Cass asks whether the Mark bothers him and I don't remember which one it is but I always choose the swirly head one (I just wish I knew what it was) and one of them sounds waaaay too aggressive there. Then there's that discussion with Sera where you choose the option of 'I can be mysterious too' and he goes 'We had fun on street X and/or local tavern' and the American voice NAILS it and the British one just manages to sound confused. From what I remember I think the American one sounds more emotive overall but he has that deep voice reverb thing going on that sounds like it only works with dwarves and qunari. The British voice was... okay. I can't help but feel he doesn't but quite enough feels in the funny lines especially. He is TERRIFYING when he's yelling though.

So yeah. Which would you guys choose?

I dunno, the beard just totally makes me think medieval british noble for some reason. So not really rugged or anything. And the scar is like meh, everyone in RPGs have scars and they're fashion accessory there. I admit, I can't really take them seriously ever since someone suggested there's probably a shop in every larger town where a guy with a sword does these across the eye cuts to everyone who pays a few silvers :D

LOL there probably is  I can't possibly see him as british since I modeled him after my Nordic character from Skyrim for his general look. And british people can have rugged voices, or at least ones not nearly as fanciful. A little bass or something, lol. I've heard a few good examples of that before, but this one just isn't that at all, lol.

Wow, I never noticed this. That's pretty great. I love Alix's voice, but I do have a special place in my heart for Sumalee's VO as well.

I like the male British voice well enough, but I don't care at all for the American one.

I prefer the female British voice, but I am playing an Elf. I think the American would suit Quanari or Dwarf more maybe as it sounds rougher? Tougher? Yeah. :3

Not listened to the male ones yet.

British male voice is very convincing in every tone but solemnity. His snark is good, his neutral voice is good, his emotional tone and especially his yelling or anger is something he nails IMO. American one sounds terrible.

As for female they're both good, but Alex Wilton Reegan is more charming and Traynor.

I like the american male, don't particularly care for either female voice
