So I suspect that earning schematics is going to be implemented eventually and thus the grinding for salvage mats to become the new "carrot on the stick". Problem is though grinding through too many arbitrary RNG checks is a bad way to prolong game life and ensure longevity. Just look at Destiny.

I'm proposing a mechanic that let's you convert your Tier 1 salvage to Tier 2 etc. The conversion cost can be high to make it difficult to achieve but NOT unrealistic. Also, it gives the player some agency over progression that's not entirely RNG.

My worst fear is that you'll get lucky with an RNG Unique schematic and then have to now RNG for a salvage item with the hope that when you salvage the item, you again have to RNG for the appropriate tier salvage mat that you needed to go towards the schematic. THEN you'd have to do that AGAIN until you get your five tier 3 metal salvage mats for your fancy purple schematic.

Please for the love of all things fun about video games do not do that to us BioWare.

I'm surprised no one has yet to chime in regards to the idea of converting salvage mats to a higher tier. It'd give you something to put your giant hoard of Tier 1 materials towards. Trust me if the Unique Schematics require Tier 2 and Tier 3 salvage mats the grind (and thus the forum outrage) is going to increase x a billion. If you guys think RNG at the store is miserly now with only ONE RNG check at play, just wait until it increases for completing a purple schematic.

Schematics were said to be weekend event rewards. I agree that crafting upgrades should be a thing for both schematics and weapons, though i cant say im optimistic about this being implemented

I'm not too optimistic about it either to be honest but...it's fun to dream. Crafting grinds are my absolute least favorite things about video games man. It's just a thinly veiled ways to pad out replayability.
