So, I'm having a little fun with the toolset for the moment, exploring cutscene possibilitys and working on my own mod \\o
I'm planning to add something similar to the tower explosion in the OC, (you know the one; in the prelude, where you and Ali are trying to reach the tower of ishal.) Problem is I dont rightly know how :pinched:
When I take the cs_tower model and drag it into the cutscene it just won't show, well, it did for a little while but thats it. im not even sure that is the right model to use, but I snuck a peek at the cutscene from ostagar and it was same model. Anyhow, so I want that tower to crumble from a giant fireball, and that's basically it.
How do I do this?
Any inputs or suggestions on that part? =]

Oh, and is there a way to get facial animations to work without actually using the VO? My windows sucks so I wont be able to use the VO untill I install windows again. The robot VO anyways. (and frankly i cba to do that since it would take me a whole day)

- Perhaps the tower is there but you have the fade geometry set to cut the top off the tower? Or perhaps you need to increase the view distance?

- You would have to start with your tower set to visible. You would also have a bunch of debris type models set to be invisible. Then add some vfxs to show the explosion, the explosion, fire and smoke and such would have to obscure most of the tower. At the point on the timeline that the tower was obscured by the vfx's you would set the tower to invisible and set the debris to visible. When the vfx's (fire and smoke and such) end the tower would be gone and you would have debris.

- There are facial animation files you can use like any other animation in a cutscene. Whether any of the ones they have is to your liking is another matter. (If you don't have my spreadsheets that list the animations and fx's you might want to get them from the 'Beerfish spreadsheet untilties' project.

Well... I found the tower eventually. It was far faaaaaar outside my map for some retarded reason, while the box you're supposed to move it with was where I placed it...

Thanks for the reply, I'm sure I can handle it now x)

If you find things like that flinging themselves around the map you can put something small down and then look at the coordinates of the small item and then manually type in the coordinates for the larger model.

I think for the parts of the tower falling off, you can mark certain key points of each piece's descent and then give them a bezier transition, changing not just the coordinates but also the pitch, yaw, etc.. I haven't tried this out, but I would think this would be the way to have the parts falling in different directions. I suspect there aren't preset animations for placeable models the way there are for creatures (with the exception of windmills and such).
