Whether or not it should be free is another argument, but I certainly would be more than happy to receive more hair options - free or otherwise. I'll admit, I was a little surprised that they didn't include any of the hairstyles from the past games (I somewhat thought a trend might be to keep the old hairstyles and then add some new ones, such as they did with DA2), but I don't find the current hairstyles to be "absolutely awful" as some might. Of course, I may find myself having more issues once I've gone through and played the game enough times to have used all the decent hairstyles. I'd hate to think of my Inquisitors looking like each other, given that each is a unique butterfly  :P

I feel like Bioware/EA has a decent opportunity to bundle some of the small desired things into a small $5-$10 (hopefully $5) DLC. They could cobble together a DLC that includes a CC mirror for facial adjustments mid game, a storage chest, more hair options, and maybe another small thing that's been complained about elsewhere (those three were the first to come to mind of things-that-would-be-nice-to-have-in-game)

Yeah I understand about not wanting to share mods much anymore. Many modders on Deviant seem to stop sharing their amazing mods thanks to these that steal it.

Still I'm struggling to even make Pagan's face with no mods of course lol

I'd like more hair styles for sure. But $10? Not a chance. It would be in the back of my mind that The Witcher 3 is getting a FREE hair and beard dlc pack the day after the game is released.

Honestly in my opinion "hair pack" DLC should be free because it is something that is supposed to be in game in first place!

Pagan with no mods would look like young Pagan since only old face complexion that would resemble his has stubble so young complexion is way to go but here it is your inspiration on how to make it...

I wouldn't mind paying €1-2 if I can just get a Qunari with long hair. 4 horrible hairstyles (one of them being bald) is just sad.

That's also literally all the character customisation available to you, though. Eh, maybe aside from another plot-related tattoo.

What does that matter? We aren't talking about full character customisation, we're talking about bairstyle dlc.

If they already had the models and simply held them back for whatever reason, than I might be a touch dissatisfied with them making us pay for it. But if they have to reallocate resources (that might be used to fix bugs, or whatever) into making new models for hair, then I think it's not unreasonable that we should pay for them. Free is always good though! Not arguing that :P just saying that everything they do has to be profitable in a sense, so unless they had some reason for releasing it for free (good press, pleasing fans into buying more DLC...whatever) I'm not certain they'll do that route.

Anyone know how modding is coming along? I'm imaging this curly, messy mass of inky black hair for one of my elves.

For a genre that is based on customisation, there aren't a lot of hair options for most female characters right away. I would have rather had a more basic makup setup and more options for hair, which is far more noticable in-game.

Normally, I wouldn't object to paying $5 for extra hair styles DLC, but I do feel a pretty disatisfied with how few realistic options there are for female characters to begin with. However, since the cost of games hasn't gone up in the last several years and I'm sure the cost of making them probably has gone up (especially a game this big), I can't really blame them for having DLC in general.

Regardless of that, there are a lot of possibilities for a variety of updos, partial updos, or shoulder length hair that would avoid clipping issues, if that is a concern.

Guild Wars 2 did a great job with hair starting hair options, then added more for-pay hair options later. I would love some hair options like that!

Personally at this point I think they should just hire Adela to design their lady hairstyles at least. :pinched:

Note: I'm not trying to bash anyone here, just pointing out that a fan made a huge amount of gorgeous hairstyles already (and that post was on Dec 8th) that can't be implemented until the modding tools are finished, and while some may have clipping issues she does have some really pretty ones that have short hair or hair put up which shouldn't cause much if any clipping, or could be adjusted fairly easily to prevent clipping.

The DAI Tools thread is over here.
