Everyone should've had three. Bisexual males and females had more than two options I'm pretty sure.

Considering that bisexuals are attracted toward both males and females, this should not come as a surprise to you.

I'm close to hit the ignore button too but he makes me laugh with his hetero babbling. :D

It was funny at first, I actually thought it was a joke, but eh... :P

ACTUAL statistics, please.

Magick word 'most probably'. I don't put words without a reason, it is just to avoid cases like this and spare myself a hassle. There are actual statistics out there somewhere, look for them. I have seen them, yes.

If you're talking about statistic. Bioware stated that the majority of the people don't even use the romance feature.

'I would not trust  BioWare, great developer, to honour its words, should the end of all days be upon us'[paraphrased]. Even if it is true then there is other kind of majority, the one who participated in the romance.

Damn straight people and their heterosexual agenda! Stop shoving straight content down our throats. I am not against straight romances I just think we shouldn't have to deal with a boy and girl kissing or holding hands at least when it is shown. Fine if they do their straight thing just don't show it.

The majority who actually participate in the romance may not even big enough to justify dedicate more romance content for them, so Bioware just wants to give everyone equal options instead in this game. At least there is a chance that the balance may switch with the next game. One of the Bioware developers stated that gays will never have more options than straights since it's "putting the cart before the horse". At best, they're equal, at worst, none are gay as it was with Star Wars The Old Republic.

I would not be so pessimistic, people like their romances, even my ego feels good when pretty elf lady lands in the silks of legacy (them sweet, sweet pixels). Then I should hope for 'the worst' and hope to get the most.

I do not understand why people in this forum are upset when someone says that most people who play these games are straight men.
It's simple deduction, the majority of people in the world are straight, simple, and most gamers, are men. (before someone quote that research that says women make 52% of gamers, it is incorrect, the survey included people who play mobile games, and Face booke games as gamers).

It's not about the statistics saying that there are more male gamers than female gamers, it's when you bend those statistics out of proportion to devalue others. Male gamers might be the majority of video game players, but not by such a large amount that other "minority" players shouldn't have game aspects that apply to them as well.

Considering this already applies to most of the games on the market there's absolutely no reason to complain about the few that cater to something other than straight male gamers who only want to romance straight female characters.

Heaven seven, did I just hear seven trumpets of tumblr? I think that they are coming your way, the vanguard is led by chariots of SJW.

On these forums, dismissal of these games warrants fiery eye of the rainbor. I agree with you wholeheartedly though. The research very often repeated here included some facebook games and other quite silly applications. Oh you have said it already, somehow I have missed it in your post. Yes, we, straight men are the bigget playerbase but it looks as if it is in itself a grave crime. We pay the most but in the end we should not demand anything because of 'progress, privileges and world peace'. I think it is my first fully snarky post on these forums. And it is light, if you flip pages, 2 or 3 you will find offensive, oversexualised replies with a clear undertone.

But who said that we are the players of these 'other games'. Most of them are not even rpgs. Why would 'straight' label be of interest in the games that do not have interactive romances. There are simply straight protagonists and that's it.

If you don't play those games then that's your choice. The people who enjoy the options in Dragon Age don't HAVE that choice. They aren't represented anywhere else.

But there is a huge difference between some shooter or jumpy jump with romance put there for you that you only observe. Here it is interactive and it is an rpg game. There is no need to limit our domination to other genres or even titles. We pay, we want. It is really that simple. Really, I'm not interested in anybody's plights and what they get or what they don't get. If we straight males who want straight romances are the majority of monetary contributors then it is us who should be prioritised.

Well, at least this thread managed to maintain a decent balance between unnecessarily hostile and bigoted posts lobbed towards the LGBT community as it did unnecessarily hostile and bigoted posts lobbed from the LGBT community.

And on Christmas, no less.

Good job, BSN.

So we pay and want too. And we want more gay romances, just like you want straight ones. Boom.

Bioware always had bi and now recently gay romances and they'll keep adding them.

Sure, proportionally to your demographic monetary contribution. Of course, they may keep adding them, we shall see how it ends. DA:I has already overstepped certain boundaries. One thing is to use advertising bordering on false informations, botching product and completely other playing with agendas. Well, time will tell.

Straight males interested in straight romances are most probably the biggest monetary contributors of DA:I. There is no need to keep an equal amount of romances, straight males should get the most out of romances. 'Everyone' sounds silly when you compare itsy bitsy minorities to a healthy majority paying and playing the game.

Most of them don't play the game for the romances, and don't care whether you are able to satisfy your desire for romance with a video game.

Your implication that all straight males want the same thing that you do is absurd. If the game is good, most of them will be happy. Whether you get what you want is unlikely to be of any interest to them.

It is not what they play the game for, but what they don't play for. Most probably great many of them do not appreciate agendas.

Someohe has not been reading my posts! I have never used 'all', I don't even think that I have used 'most' without adding 'probably'. I don't think it works that way, it is about principles. About accepting getting something you don't approve, pushed at you.

Feminine appearance and behaviour; delicate, soft, shy, vulnerable, intuitive, sensual, physically weak and submissive. Hugely it depends on writing and character presentation, the further from common man traits the better. Merrill, petite, silly, naive, innocent energetic, warm hearted, easily exploitable and in need for her patriarch. I could not romance anyone except her. My favourite companion ever. In DA:O it was Morrigan, only because she was the only straight companion and lore favoured her, I still have a bad taste in my mouth.

Eh, really? I mean, seriously? That is your view of the ideal woman? Submissive, delicate, shy and in need for her patriarch? I read your post out loud to my gfs and they still haven't stopped laughing. I'm concerned.

If that's your thing and you are lucky enough to find a partner who has the same views, then fine. But insisting on such a stereotype is more likely to lead to being forever alone.

Oh, and just so you know. Merrill is bi. Every LI in DA2 is bi. Merrill is my favourite partner for a lesbian Hawke. You and your hetero agenda didn't last long when you were confronted with her cuteness. "It goes against every fiber of my being" ... sure. Until she's cute, eh? Suddendly a bisexual woman is okay.

Hypocrite.

So this is about you disapproving of gay romances, that you believe are the result of an agenda.

Oh, well then I care even less about your opinion than I did before.

Thank you for giving me matrimonial advices but I'm doing just fine.

No, I'm not a hypocrite, as I have said, I still have a bad taste after Morrigan and her promiscuous adventures into the city and all of that 'independent' stuff she was forcing on me(she was not 'cute' not my 'type' and I have romanced her anyway). As you have said, everybody was non straight in DAII (maybe except Sebastian?). It was a lesser evil to accept her. Much bigger problem, from the elvhen perspective was to accept Merrill as race traitor who has decided to breed with Hawke instead other elf, but considering I was RP as Hawke, i got possibly what I wanted, a human offspring. Don't make it about cute but about whole of her; personality and behaviour.

You can trust me on this: if Aveline(that ugly godzilla) was straight and romanceable then I would pick her over Merrill.

Oh, so this is about you "disapproving" of gay romances, that you believe are the result of an agenda.

It is about priorities.

Your priorities in life are to get upset about the existence of gay romances in a video game, that you could easily avoid encountering by not engaging in them. That seems healthy. Definitely nothing ludicrous about that.
