You have to show the locket to both Celene and Briala.

I exposed Gaspard's plot and told her that it was done by Briala's help. But when I talked to Celene before, I talked about Briala (after finding the elven amulet in her belongings).

Yeah, I screwed up on it the first time - I'd showed the locket to Briala, but not to Celene's creepy triplets.  I reloaded, showed it to them, and summoned Celene, and talked about her feelings for Briala in a diplomatic way.  That gave me the option.

You have to speak to both Celene (by showing the locket to the Ladies in Waiting) and you have to let Briala know about the locket too. 

 

When talking to Celene, you have to make sure to choose the positive option when referring to the locket. I think it's something along the lines of 'It means something to you'. It's the first option.

I did that, and still did not get the option.

Say Briala helped you expose the plot

Trash Gaspard

Let Gaspard be executed / attempt reconciliation

Ask Celene about Briala's reward.

That should do it

they won't. Rule of cool dictates that Gaspard has no chance against bisexual co-rulers in eyes of most players. This guys would have probably even burned Gandhi at stake for this very reason if given the choice. As if they'll get something out of it

Uh... where did bisexual come from and who said that was the motivation? I'm a straight lady and I chose them because I thought it would bring stability and rights for elves.

Usually the harder to obtain choices have the most desired results, but in this case, they unequivocally suck. C&B and Truce are the most difficult to get, and they leave Orlais the least stable, especially the truce. So, you want to make nice to the knife-ears, elect a knife-ear has the de-facto empress, problem solved, no need to be a couple's therapist. 

 

By the way, did you by any chance take the Necromancer specialization ?

Knight Enchanter all the way. Sorry, but it's already a tradition in itself for me in DA series. Next one will probably be Tempest. Won't play as Warrior since they still are locked as "melee only" for some reason(I guess only Varric can use crossbow nowadays ).

The reason I asked, was because how effortlessly you ''Necro'd'' a two month old thread..  

 

Though there is nothing wrong with the spec. itself.. Kinda dark and almost everyone hates you for it .

 

Btw, wasn't Warrior 'melee only' in DA ][, too. ?

Long run. I ain't saying it won't be messy, only that it's possible.

 

Peace + reunion of Briala and Celene, all wubby feelings aside, means that there's now a powerful, noble advocate for the elves (Briala) and a ruler who isn't interested in starting more wars (Celene). I'm aware that Gaspard will at least temporarily make peace with Ferelden in the wartable mission but beforehand, that's not a bet I would take. Inquisition side, Briala brings her army of spies and Celene has all the resources of the Empire.

Is it possible to bring the existence of the locket to Gaspard's attention?  I never bothered to check.  Typically, I don't side with Gaspard out of fear for Fereldan's security.  Once a Cousland, always a Cousland...

I maybe had 15/30 of the secrets found and had the option reconcile the two. However when I chose the star dialog option to spare Gaspard, the reconcile dialog never came up again.

It was. And it sucked. Bioware's tradition: in DA series Warriors suck while melee mages, control mages and rogues are OP

Good luck trying to continue railroading Ferelden to safety when your next player character will be from Tevinter:P

It is possible to bring the locket to Gaspard's attention and his comment is that Celene probably wanted to use it to blackmail Briala; after all the relationship is no secret to him (see Masked Empire).    Ferelden will be in no danger since Orlais will take years to recover from the civil war and anyway you can negotiate a peace between the nations regardless of who you put into power.      Fiona and her mage rebellion did a whole lot more harm to Ferelden security and in particular the status of the monarch since he/she encouraged their people to give them sanctuary and then got stabbed in the back when they allied with Tevinter.    That somewhat dented the people's confidence in their ruler.

 

Incidentally you cannot save Gaspard and reconcile Celene with Briala.    You either have to ask for clemency for Gaspard or give Briala credit for stopping Florianne and then ask for her to be given a reward.     If you have shown both of them the locket beforehand, then you can arrange the reconciliation.
