So, what if Leliana didn't survive DA:O?

Just finished my first playthrough the other day. Since Leliana plays an important part in DAI, it makes me wonder what would happen if I import a world state in which the HoF killed Leliana in the Temple of the Sacred Ashes? Who would BioWare bring up to fill the position as spy master and

Spoiler
?

Has anyone tried with such a world state? I'm just being curious.

Leliana still shows up. She got better. However, she doesn't want to talk about it.

You get a minor difference in dialogue.

That's literally it.

She's magical in all the right places.

She still shows up but she doesn't want to chit-chat about it and could have repercussions in DLC, seeing as most of the stuff in Keep doesn't seem to have made it into the game.

She is still alive with pretty cheap excuse "i was resurrected i don't know how but don't ask about it again (im writers pet after all)" and have low opinion on HoF that she thinks did horrible thing by killing her (what funnily was pretty much self-defence) that is pretty much it.

What can I say, she's pretty resilient.

I like that it's acknowledged at least. I don't need a lot of dialogue about it. I can work with it.. I never made the Reaver choice in DAO, but it's cool to play around with in the Keep. This version of Leliana is someone my Inquisitor can identify with.. they both have a Sacred Ashes experience.

Wouldn't the horrible thing in turn be about corrupting the ashes?

Seriously. If you blatantly commit the most abominable sacrilege in front of a chantry sister, I'm pretty sure it's not "self-defense" once a fight breaks out. lol. There's got to be a better word for it.

Haha, reminds me of my BG1 games where I'd walk into people's houses, take their stuff, and then when they attacked me, I'd be forced to kill them. Since they attacked me first, it was "self-defence" and I never got pinged any Evil points.

She tells you how angry she got when the hero of Ferelden desecrated the ashes, that she attacked despite knowing that she could not win. She tells you that she was struck down and that she died. Suddenly she woke up and the ashes were gone. She attributes it to the Maker.

I'm at a  loss of words... So Leliana was  just resurrected by some kind of miracle? It could be more convincing to claim that she was knocked unconscious and the Warden left, thinking that she was dead. Seems like plot guys at BioWare used up their imaginations.

Pretty much she meant killing her as she says that is what she meant by that.

No pretty much it still would be self-defense she attacked the warden and s/he responded by defending himself/herself what pretty much is self-defense.Unless you try to imply that self-defence don't apply when you are attacked by religious zealot.

According to her own words, she died.  No one knows what really happened, since it was just her left alone in there. All she knows is that she was suddenly once again alive or conscious or whatever. She believes it was some sort of miracle of the Maker.

What would happen is that Bioware would build her back up as a 'darker' character and have her cater to the Mage crowd cus dat popularity.

It's hardly zealotry. If there was actual remains of Jesus, and you took a ****** on them.. you can expect millions upon million of normal Christians killing you for it. And not just the zealots. That's basically what happens here. You're asking for it.

Doubly asking for it since most people who made this choice take Leliana there on purpose, for the express purpose of killing her.  And now you blame her?

I'd respect just simple hatred more than this. "Self defense" is a copout.

Yes it is zealotry (pretty much in pure form)... it is like if you destroyed crucifix and i pull of magnum and shoot you in face pretty much sure if i killed you for that i would end in jail and if you killed me you would get self-defense excuse. It is kinda disturbing that i have to explain why killing for religion is in fact zealotry.

Not rly unless you have magic mirror that predicts the future from rp perspective you hardly know that you will destroy urn.

The point is that you're goading and asking for a fight in the first place. You already know what will happen, if you make decisions like this. You're not so stupid as to think "Ooooh.. I had no idea they would attack!!! Derp derp."

It's not self-defense when you know exactly how something will go down.

Not rly it is decision that you make i rather doubt that most players or the wardens reasons behind it was provoking leliana into fight...

It is like saying that killing alistair after you refused protect redcliff and he attacked you because he tought you were morally evil wouldn't be self-defence.

My personal opinion is that any resurrected Leliana should automatically become Divine, no matter what choices the players make in DAI.

This would at least add some justification for the resurrection of a character by the Maker/Andraste.

Yeah im sure chantry automatically makes everyone who claims to be resurrected by maker a divine...

Besides it is never explained how she is alive.

She's alive because someone at Bioware had a hardon for redheaded religious fanatics.

It's that easy, really.

Because it's a mystery. She thinks it's magic or the Maker. She doesn't know herself.

The same could be said for our own characters... spirits or Andraste.
