I used to audibly groan when loading in at the realization of combating Demons. PuG Teammates would whimper over the mics and contemplate just wiping out of forlorn trepidation when faced with the threat of the Demon Commander. Now that distinction is reserved for Red Templars in the fear of Key Glitches and round incompletes. People are leveling up strategies in dealing with the Demon Commander (WITHOUT needing him nerfed I might add) and thus, Red Templar have surpassed Demons in the pecking order of doomy doom fearness.

Andraste help you if you get Red Templars AND animals.

Who'd win in a head-to-head, Demon Commander or a Banshee? GO!

Does the banshee still have sync kills?

The bugged sync kill that could drag you through a wall into her hand? Absolutely!

Banshee, hands down.

  1. Banshee is a synthetic life form that is immune to fear/panic.
  2. Banshee could dodge any attacks with biotic jumps.
  3. The Demon Commander would get sync-killed in the middle of his dive attack animation.

If the Banshee won't do it, then Phantom.

Demons = Go reaver, dodge the aoe thing, then turn around and rampage / destroy the DC.

I find red templers more annoying. They got those big guys that fire crystals at you. If you're really lucky you'll get 6 of them at the door on wave 5. They'll wipe the team in seconds. They're immune to most things and hard to kill.

Since my favorite class is Templar, playing against red Templars makes you feel useless so...

I find the Red Templars annoying, because people in public games don't realize that its better to roam the map on wave 5 instead of sitting in one room waiting for the commander to whirlwind/earthquake wave the whole team to death. Of course in case you don't have archers who'll focus the guy and get him down pretty quickly.

Seriously, every goddamn public game player seems to think that staying in one place is some kind of miracle solution of wave 5 even if they didn't pick classes or skills that allow it against Red Templars. It works every time against Venatori because of how weak they are on wave 5, but Templars are 2x easier when you run away from the boss if the team can't take him down quickly. And even then it's better if you don't let all those Red Templar Knights and Abominations stick together.

Are you using the Mage Slayer passive? If you're not you really should. It makes WoH do damage to knights, shadows, horrors, behemoths and pretty much everyone except the boss.

remember the days where you could grab pyros, there were no bombers, and banshee's would magnet grab from 20 feet away?

No, Demons are more unpredictable which makes them more difficult. Talking about 5/5 as the rest of the zones do not need commentary. Some of the Red Templars higher ranking mobs can be annoying but they are stationary and predictable.

Yeah and so do treasure chest guardians. Revenants in particular take a lot of damage from dispel spell purge for whatever reason.

I do, but I never noticed it worked, too much going on at once when you've got two mages spamming spells behind you. Thanks for the heads up :)

I think Revenants have a self-buff that imbues their sword with a glowing green energy. That might count towards the Spell Purge perk.

Templar Commander Whirlwind'd my Katari into a Red Lyrium pillar and I glitched into the architecture. I even tried crawling out after I inevitably died and finally got out before slipping into the Fade. That's a new one.

Just soloed Routine against red templars with the level 2 Archer. Against demons it's absolutely impossible, at least for me.

Routine is a joke for archers if you have a half decent bow and Longshot.

Whereas the Legionnaire can solo either. Pffft... Archers. Korbin thinks you are a bunch of pansies!

You can't have Long Shot at level 2.
