At the beginning I would like to say that this thead is not for discussing the character of Krem in depth nor my intentions. It is just me asking a quite simple question about in game interaction. By all means, try to resist inner fire from spreading the flames.

I have not started to play DA:I yet, but I have seen on a youtube video showing a discussion between qunari Inquisitor and Iron Bull. They are discussing Krem's state of being and after few words exchanges qunari Inquisitor started to refer to Krem as 'he'.

My question is: can you disagree with Iron Bull and insist on calling Krem 'she/her'?

You cannot, because it's not your place to "disagree" with how a person identifies themselves. Krem identifies as male, thus he is male. Your opinion doesn't matter.

There's not even a plausible reason for a vashoth Inquisitor to "disagree" with it, because the word Bull uses for Krem is a qunari word. The concept of transgender already exists within the qun, there's no matter of agreeing with it or not.

I did not ask about changing opinion of Iron Bull, but if I can call Krem 'she/her', as PC: Inquisitor (of any race), is there a way to dismiss their reasoning and keep calling Krem the way I have mentioned? The way I want?

Because she/her isn't the right way to refer to him, of course. The Inquisitor would have picked up on it, and insisting on using the wrong pronouns would just make them transphobic. Thankfully there isn't an option.

Again, no you can't, because it's not your place to. There's no "reasoning" behind it, and what you want is irrelevant.

Krem is male. Your options are a: Deal With It; or b: Deal With It.

The way you 'want' is completely irrelevant, and it seems like you are making this topic just to aggravate people?

Are you sure there is no such option during discussions?

No, I'm simply curious. Friend sent me a video to the mentioned discussion between PC and IB and I'm wondering if it is a set a way that PC changes the way of addressing Krem or if the outcome is dialogue dependable.

By that logic, can't it also be said that Krem's option of another NOT dealing with it is to: A: deal with it, or B: deal with it?

If it is all only a matter of opnion, or rather Krem's own opinion, then remember there is no rule saying opinions should be respected. If you want to call Krem her, of which an arguement CAN be made (despite what the SJWs always claim), then you are just as free to do so, just as Krem is free to see himself as male.

You don't talk to Krem about gender, so not really. It's brushed over, and honestly that was the best solution considering you're just being an ass at that point.

Here they talk about it, not for long but yes.

That makes the answer no, like I just said. Krem's gender, again, is not brought up after the first conversation. You can ask about why he does it, then nothing.

Ok I got my answer. I hoped for more interactive discussion choices but ok. Thread can be considered officialy closed.

I'm sure. I actually do get what you're getting at, you want this to be a roleplaying choice for your character, but no, you can't disagree or choose to adress Krem by a pronoum he does not identify with. BW has chosen to not make this a choice. It is their prerogative.

I would take your argument seriously had you not gone the lazy way of invoking the "SJW" card, but since you went there, I have nothing to tell you other than repeat it: it is BioWare's prerogative to not have the pronoum debate. You can have it in your headcanon, if you wish. Not in the game.

eta: I see OP got their answer and this thread has run its course. We're done here, then.

I get it too. I think this just goes to a wider issue of wanting to roleplay in general. It might even be cool if Krem decked you if you insisted on labeling things otherwise. lol. But maybe Bioware thinks it best to play it safe. It's not a big deal... there's other areas to roleplay in the game too.

Interestingly, I think the "questions" are really really transphobic and regret my Inquisitor asking them.

Yeah, I strongly disliked the "passing" comments.

Yeah, it's like, "So why do you pretend to be a dude, Lady?"

And I'm like.

"Okay, I sound like an ignorant jackass."

The answer being, don't pick those questions.

Yeah, there's a few instances where I find this best. Like I wish I never asked about Leliana's relationship with Justinia. It just sounds stupid. Or telling Cass she wants a Holy War... when I don't even believe that. lol. It just kind of habit to cycle through questions, I guess. I always expect the more meaningful dialogue to be in the declarations... not in the questions/investigative section.

I guess I assumed I would be more polite and these were ways of getting to know someone.

I treat investigate like any dialogue.  If I don't like what comes out of my player-character's mouth, I reload and pick something else.

You can inquire thats about it.

As IB says its not up to him to question if one of his men has trouble peeing standing up...

we can do that btw.

I do that now. I didn't in DA2 or ME... seemed like questions were always dry and benign in those games.

So true. Another one is when Dorian tells you that Felix has died and one of your options is to ask if Dorian was boning him.

I just headcanon that my Inquisitor is incredibly socially awkward.
