Am I the only one who gets uncomfortable when people think it's appropriate to talk about transgender people's genitals as if that's totally okay to do about strangers.....?

I'm not a fan of talking about anyone's genitals, really.

Genitalia is one of the few things we all got in common.

Because she/her isn't the right way to refer to him, of course. The Inquisitor would have picked up on it, and insisting on using the wrong pronouns would just make them transphobic. Thankfully there isn't an option.

And yet you get to decide how you want to refer to Cole, with Viv intentionally using the wrong pronoun... Seems a bit arbitrary, doesn't it?

Obviously, this is due to external influences (there aren't any spirits who could get offended, so it's fine to let the PC be a dick to them in the game), but go ahead and continue arguing how this is a natural result of in-universe events.

Can you finish Dorian's meeting with his father then have the discussion with Krem? Because, even if it doesn't have reactivity, that would be pretty douchebaggy.

"hey, Dorian's dad tried to fix him up with blood magic, have you ever considered having a magister rerout the plumbing?"

Since the questions already make you sound like an Ignorant jackass, rather than the respectfully curious I was hoping for, they might as well have gone all out.

I think the tone they took with that conversation is unfortunate. They had an opportunity to make it a respectful dialog about a subject many players may not know much about, and instead made the choices that could have been enlightening as uncomfortable as possible.

Dorian's father was going to brainwash him with blood magic, not give him a sex change.

This. The thing about FtM transgender persons is that it's impossible to change their genitalia but that doesn't make them any less male.

OP get one thing straight pls - the Inquisitor is NOT your character.

Inquisitor has a set personality, a set of morals and stances, and emotional responses that are completely out of your control. Situation with Krem is no exception to this.

And that makes it less douchebaggy to bring up in context?

In both cases we're talking about using magic to change a person at a fundamental level.

Is Krem going to get offended if we talk biology?  Are Krem's feelings on the matter something I should be concerned about?

For that matter, why does the trans part of the discussion make you uncomfortable when non-trans wouldn't?

You cannot, because it's not your place to "disagree" with how a person identifies themselves. Krem identifies as male, thus he is male. Your opinion doesn't matter.

Just one little problem - there are these things called language and dictionary. If everyone are going to make up their own meaning for the words they use, it's going to be quite hard to communicate.

I thought Asari needed other species to reproduce.

Seriously, Bioware needs to not put such idiotic dialogue among the choices in the dialogue wheel. It's that simple. If the options to make an ass of yourself aren't there you won't.

Goodness me, I had forgotten that beauty of a line.

And should stop making RPG's.

You can't. Why? Because Bioware said so.

I honestly thought the conversation was forced, awkward, and unfitting for the setting so I just end it quickly. I went through the whole beginning of the game thinking that Krem was a man, so they should have just left it at that.

Like, I'm saving the world. I don't give a heck what you want to call yourself.

Exactly. It was a weird detour and felt forced. Breast wrapping, oh right... uh....

They did fine, I enjoyed the game. But I don't see this game as an RPG. Action-adventure maybe? Dunno.

To some genitalia is the one and only difference.

Indeed. To others there are no differences. At the end of the day, it all comes down to opinion and perspective. Which are sadly murky waters.

Exactly. Action adventure with some rpg elements. Barely.

As for the rest, yea, it was hella forced. But I make my character bring up the woman thing purposefully, simply because they try to force that **** on us. Seriously, they even have the mods here deleting your posts if you even mention you don't buy that bs. Don't be surprised if you see this post one minute and the next it's gone.

I don't give a **** who you are, no one forces a goddamned thing on me.

Simple answer to your question OP, yes there is an option in the game that lets you disagree with Krem/Iron Bull, Dorian, and Sera. It is the "Do not invite to the Inquisition".

Long answer, no you cannot tell Krem/Iron Bull, Dorian or Sera that you disagree with their life choice. Bioware will not let you. If you want those people as companions and utilize their skills, abilities, contacts and missions you have to accept them for what they are regardless of your own personal feelings on the subject. The Inquisitor is not your character, you do not get to shape the dialogue to fit your needs. Thedas is not your world and you do not get to shape it's views on sexuality to fit your needs.

You can however not invite them, not read the codex and pretend that it doesn't exist, but that is about it.

Bringing the topic to the BSN is toxic because it does not agree with their views, you will only be flamed, your thread will be locked and/or hidden because it is viewed as bigotry/hate. Trying to accept anything different will yield no better results. Even if you somehow manage to bring the subject in a positive light it will still be viewed as such because that is what the BSN is: "You don't accept what I am than f**k you cause reasons."

You will have a much easier time on these forums if you avoid these subjects and just go with the flow, try not to stand out, don't ask questions that deal with LGBT unless it has to do with more LGBT options. Otherwise thread=locked cause you'll be flamed to death, and argued with until it reaches heated levels which leads to thread=locked.

Kind of wish we could have had questions to ask Krem about it and actually get answers if the two of you were on good terms. Wasn't a fan of not knowing a thing about it, asking a question and everyone suddenly shitting on you like you suggested burning down an orphanage.

It is the only difference. I don't know what people are smoking, but you can't reinvent definitions on your own to make people feel better about themselves. The **** is wrong with people. Next, I won't be able to talk about evolution because it offends someone.
