I beat the final boss in Mass effect one last night. watch the credits, after that it didnt ask to save since i skiped the credits but i could start a new game using my old data. when i loaded my old file it would put me right back in the fight with the final boss. I guess it saves right before the fight?

Anywho i downloaded Mass Effect 2, got it all activated and the whole nine yards. but when i go to start a new game with my ME1 data it wont show it in the window to select. I installed the games on a differant part of my Pc so it wouldnt take up the space on my C drive on windows vista. so its on D. Theres no data in my Save game folder under user. SO im stuck here.

Ok I found my Save data in my documents but what one and where do i move it?

One file is named Char_01-36-1-3-0-26-1-2010-14-1
and the others are johns with digits lastly a mass effectprofile file.

update, I tried copying them all to the mass effect two save game folder and nothing still shows up in the window.

If you know where your save game is try going through ME2's config utility. I know it gives you the option to point to where the save is.

Copy the save file from your mass effect 1 directory to your mass effect 2 save directory that is created after install (Should be something like My Documents/Bioware/Mass Effect 2/Save) and drop that into a folder called ME1 (if it doesn't exist yet it's probably because you have not ran the import utility yet, and if this is the case just create the folder) so the full directory should be something like C:\\Users\\<Your Username here>\\MyDocuments\\Bioware\\Mass Effect 2\\Save\\ME1

Oh thanks yeah i forgot about the config utility. Thanks guys also good job bioware i teared up once joker came back
