Eww. The day Bioware calls it a "raid" is the day I lose faith in humanity.

8 people dungeon would be good but I doubt it will happen simply because we've got P2P style hosting. It would put too much strain on the host machine.

How about a Tower of Babel type dungeon?
Make your way to the top (or bottom) of a tower with 20+ floors. Every set number of levels has an event or boss encounter with some reward or maybe risk/reward system. The further you go, the harder the levels get.
This would be alot easier for BiowarEA to do in terms of development but it would still require them to put in something they hate to do, extra effort.
It's been suggested before, I know but it seems like a better way to go than raid encounters.

Like the players enter a room that is slowly filling with water that requires two players to stay on pressure plates for a set time while fending off aggrod enemies. Stuff like that.

Uhhh, you know raids have been a core part of world of warcraft for a decade right?

Raids are really just super lengthy dungeon crawls with puzzle elements. While I'm completely for more varied and complex side quests, I don't think a lengthy raid is appropriate. I really would like to see some more creativity with the side quests though.

That's why we need dedicated servers. We could still have P2P for normal 4-person coop and have dedicated servers for 8-person dungeon.
ea/bioware, people have been buying platinum, so stop being cheap and give us dedicated servers.
P.S. One could always dream, right?

The mp characters in this game have too low hp, also no "real" healers, I doubt raids will work.

I think adding puzzles - stepping on platforms, etc, would be really good (though I'm sure some would troll if they could with some puzzles).
Adding a dragon fight would be fun as well. However, there's not that many dragons in the world. Maybe for a weekend event? Or maybe add darkspawn as an enemy for a weekend event.

I agree with Marnius about the bad netcode and like his tower of babel idea. Sadly I think he's also right about what we should expect from bioware.

I would love to watch pugs in this game attempt to deal with MMO style raid mechanics.
Especially on a P2P system.
