It's getting worse today. If this **** doesn't stop soon I'll never sink another penny into Sony's merchandise again.

 

I don't care who's hacking your ****. If you charge a $50 subscription fee to EVERYONE who plays PS4 on top of the inflated first year launch price, you should be able to keep your server up.

Turn off the auto-login to EA servers.  That should get you to single player.

 

I believe theirs either maintenance or hackers are having a go again...

exactly what im worried about. must be a local problem. guess the hackers are attacking the server close to where I live.

 

the reason i posted this is because periodically I can see my friends list, and people are going about their business playing GTA and **** like normal

Well if you think of ddos attacks, if a lot of attacks are incoming from IPs in a certain area, then it's normal to block out that area. This is assuming they've traced the IPs past spoofing and VPN layers.

The funny thing is if a player actually tried spamming login in frustration and desperation, their IP could get blacklisted LOL. It happened to me in an MMO once when a new playable character came out. I got blocked for 7 days lol

Edit: and yeah if attacks are incoming near you the increased server load/filled login slots would keep you out/kick you out as well

Warden check the outage map most area's are affected. It's thanks to lizard squad ddos attack to stop people from playing games on xmas. Unfortunately Microsoft is better at sorting it out and sony is still struggling like heck. Unfortunately they also said this is only the beginning and to expect to see this often.

im already pissed they banned me from PSN a few weeks ago for "bad language" when it was just a chat room full of 100 people and the 1 person decided to report. if i don't get a connection pretty soon they'll be hearing from me, DDoS attack or not

If you'd actually read any of the news reports on the topic you'd know that they said those maps you're looking at aren't 100% accurate.

Psn gets more flak from ignorants than it deserves, and likewise Microsoft gets more praise than it rightfully deserves.

Either way, I play this game on pc but I've never had any problems with psn that weren't ddos related. And I get a lot more for my money from sony than Microsoft has ever provided.

Lol it's Lizard Squad. Nothing to do with MR Un. You should see the Interview. He's actually a really nice guy lel. I haven't been able to log in since Xmas eve. Don't really have a social life, I game with friends and I haven't been able to do that all Xmas. It spoiled my plans. Not happy.
