As my grandfather would say if he were an elf, "This set us back at least four hundred years." Damn, dude. No idea it was that bad.
So I decided to make a male elf character and he looks like a forced starvation victim...

Never seen the male elf before those pics. Yeah, I can see why there are complaints there. The female actually is better than that.

Bioware really screwed up with the male elf model. It would be great if there were some mods to fix this but, alas ...

Positively emaciated. He happens to be a mage so I can kind of get that but he is insanely skinny to the point of it not looking healthy. Has anyone else noticed this?
The male elf looks like a child from a third world country. He looks malnourished and underfed.
I mean I really, really wanted to play Male Elf Mage in this game but then the game went full retard and gave us starvation victims for male elves...So I had to go to playing Male Human Mage...
I do not like playing as male humans in fantasy games since I am a male human and I don't want to self insert too much but Bioware makes male elves look like twigs in this game...

I have to say though, regardless of the body models used for the elf. I honestly feel like my elf characters are more fitting as inquisitor. With all the focus on elven gods and Solus talking to you so much more openly, it felt far more real.
My first human female character was actually shocked that she didn't get the 'fade' scene when she talked to Solus at Skyhold the first time. How could people miss that?
I'm confused, I got the fade scene with Solas as a human. It's how the bedroom opens up. Unless your talking about something else?

I really think they need to bulk up male elves a bit....they look ridiculous and offputtingly skinny
with weird broken inwards arms and a chicken chest ![]()

That being said, I am a woman rolling a male character, so maybe that affects my perspective? I really have no desire to be big, beefy, and muscular.

I'd like the male elves just fine with slightly smaller heads and non broken arms.
I could play one just fine but the arms...just what is that?

This is the main reason, why I don't want to play as a Female Elf. The Skinny body just looks bad in comparison to the human one.

Yeah, saw a pic of how the male elf bodies looked like and made me scratch my head. How could you possibly make a warrior elf without it looking like a final fantasy character? And I thought the female elves looked bad.

Their heads also look disproportionately big in comparison to that thin body. It's like all the elves suddenly became affected by hydrocephalus.

Elf in DA2: Looks alright head seems to match the body on Merril
Elf in DAI: Massive head, small body, doesn't look right. Solas looks fine, Sera looks fine their heads match their bodies. Inquisitor elf, not so much

Yeah... They look fine in most armors but in the Inquisitor's Pyjamas they look awful. I could sort of stomach it, then I got to Skyhold and remember unlike Haven, you need to wear your PJs everywhere. I can't play elves for this reason.
So, the male elf PC look fine to you in most armor? Did you check the pics, above on this page? Male elf PC bodies looks plain wrong. They have an oversized head, noodle's arms, insect legs and they have the shoulders of a 5 y/o child. If at least players didn't have to constantly feel awkward every time the male PC elf stands close to Solas (as he does in both pics, above), who has real meat on his thighs, decent shoulder's size, proportioned head/body and arms with biceps. It reaches the point of being painful to watch during naked romance scenes unless you just want to do it for the laugh.

Male Elves reaffirmed me that I'd look just as terrible in a fantasy world as in real life as they are as skinny as me (which is quite an accomplishment) ![]()

I was afraid Cullen was going to break my female elf in half when they got "together". That cut scene, he looked like he was going to be rough on her.

Elven arms.
If that was the case, then Solas, Sera Abelas and the rest of the sentinels as well as the dalish are just very lucky mutations? Mmmmh, I don't think so. It seems the devs just made a horrid male elf PC body and that's all.
