Ideas...

Cousland castle chapel for male or female Cousland

Dalish - In a forest clearing?

city elf - Maybe use the alienage again?

Mages - Tower chapel or great hall?

Dwarfs - The tavern?? Or in the commons??

In Inquisition Leliana mentions the Warden and her visited the Valence chantry to visit Justinia, maybe she married them there. ;)

Is there an area in DAO that looks like that? I could redo another chantry to look similar. :D

http://social.biowar...wakening_module (Note to self: I need to create the visual version of this)

Aren't there any level designers left in the community? You'd think this game came out five years ago or something

I'll give it a shot (just try for the experience). Who knows, it may be fun.  :D

I like this Awakening chantry 692px-Amn140d.jpg

After I finish my first play-thru of DAI, I'll start messing around with this wedding. I am concerned my harddrive is messed up.. SMART has been tripped. this happened after I disabled a bunch of background applications trying to get DAI to play smoothly (then enabled all of them again). So, if I have to replace my HD, I can do it once this one fails. I'll continue making backups of my stuff.

Hey Luna,

Nice to see you working on this, hope the HD is ok. As for setting - my warden is a mage, but I don't don't know if he would want to get married in the tower. I imagine most mages were happy to escape the tower in the first place!

I would have thought for most humans, something in the chantry would be a safe bet (unless they hate the chantry, but then they are probably unlikely to be that close to Leli ;) ).

Yes, I think if Leli is hardened or not, she would like a chantry wedding.

I replaced my HD with a 1TB new drive. :D My old one was failing.

Well enjoy Inquisition, and good luck! I would offer to help, but it would be a pretty hollow offer since I know nothing about modding (and very little about computers in general).

I agree that the chantry is a good idea for many people. Would adding in the propsoed extra locations (forest, great hall, etc.) multiply the work by a lot? If so, maybe best to reduce the number of possibilities?

Of course, if adding a new location is straight-forward, maybe offer the player a chocie of where to marry!

I don't think they can have a choice, but that would be sunjammers area. I'll start on the scenes sometime within the next couple of weeks. :)

You could give them a choice but the question is how would you present that choice to the player is an elegant way?

  1. We could extend the guard's conversation with some (silent) options. Kind of clunky/immersion breaking but gets the job done.
  2. We could do something through game play: for example insert a character into the Post-Coronation Hall who say something about the invitations having to be sent out and has the Player having to decide on a venue. This could set a plot flag that we subsequently look up to determine the transition. This would require someone to do some voice over work and the player would have to be aware they need to speak to the "wedding planner" before leaving.
  3. Or we could make it data driven using a 2DA or the INI file but that runs the risk of the player putting in the wrong data.

So it's perfectly possible however it probably means a lot more cutscene work for very little gain.

I was thinking about using the Haven Chantry for the Dwarf weddings. It has side rooms that could be used for the receptions (which I am including in all the scenes). Much more fun to make than just the wedding part.

Or should the Dwarf weddings be in Orzammar? In the palace maybe? I was also thinking about Berkel's chapel, but what if you don't do his quest? I do not have the time to learn how to create a new area (I wanted to try, but the scenes are so time consuming) it would be a lot easier to use a ready-made area/level.
