Funny how people insist in "I PLAYED BG AND I LOVE INQUISITION", well, ok, love it, but it clearly wasn't made for BG fans, nor NWN, nor DAO fans, not even DA2 fans, it was made from Markvid Gaidarrah and to Markvid Gaidarrah, actually from EA to EA and it worked wonders for them.
There are many different kind of people who are fans of these games, so I don't see how it was made or not made for fans.
I think one needs to find a pacing that makes this game interesting to them. For me it's: do a main story mission --> explore things / do side quests untill most of the war table missions are done, do next story mission (more war table missions pop up) rinse and repeat.
The game has many flaws, but what I really appreciate in this game is the diversity of your companions, and the addition of those that feel more grounded and less exaggerated than others.
And the fact that they did a great job with the environment, not even ES did this so well, it still feels a miniature world, but at least I spend less time pretending that I'm in a forest or a castle, or a dungeon.
Can't comment on combat, not playing it for combat, but I will probably play this game for many months to come.
