After crashing in the cutscene 7 times from Haven to Skyhold, I didn't play for 2 weeks.  Now I can stomach about an hour at a time.

The Behaviour/Tactics system is horrible.  I'm appaled at the backwards step from DA:O and DA2 it took.  As well as the Tactical camera.  Complete rubbish.

My system has crashed three times, all due to background maintenance software. Perhaps checking Processes to insure system is running smoothly might be of help.

While I also prefer the prior AI in the series, by setting defensive Tactics to Preferred, and have Behavior reduce the percentages of Mana/ Stamina Restrictions and Potion consumption, this can help avoid some frustrations. By setting ranged NPC's to Follow the Warrior of choice, or by having all characters Follow themselves (ie; their own names) can increase independence.

And I generally run Disk Cleanup before a session to empty the cache; has aided my games for the past few years. Hope this helps>

Bigoted tirades tend to result in bans, yes.

Get off the high horse and back down to earth, and you might realize people can and do have preferences on things. Are you advocating censorship?

I posted earlier in the thread about how I've played and read and watched everything else Dragon Age but this isn't holding my attention. But I'm having trouble walking away.

I was thinking - I totally need a well written synopsis of the plot. (I don't care if it has someone's story choices.) Just so I can read it, go "that's interesting" and move on and wait for whatever is next. I've had a look around but can't find one anywhere.

Anyone seen one of these?

The problem is that a lot of people don't know how to censor themselves while expressing those preferences.

Hardly their fault though. The Internet as a medium doesn't exactly foster respect and civility.

I stopped after about 80 hours into the game. I visited my family over Christmas but since then I couldn't motivate myself to continue I'm afraid.

I'm on my 4th playthrough (300+ hours) and can't wait for some meaty patches and DLC. Different strokes...

I just had to say I freakin' love your avatar!

I really wanted to like this game, but after finding the 87897152 enemy inmune to my mage spells, SPOILERHawke/SPOILER appearence, SPOILERWarden/SPOILER absence, terribe controls, boring mages, extremely boring enormous maps, itemization requiring absurd amounts of "auto-search" taking stones, herbs, etc from the ground, lore contradictions and boring codex...

Anyone else at this point? Today I'd been certain I would not touch the game again; after 60 hours I've had enough. At some level, I feel bad because I like Bioware and Dragon Age lore, but this game simply feels appointed to someone that is not me.

Anyone else stopped playing after so much time trying?

Well Goodbye to you and 20 peps with you who done the same  :P

I should probably tell you that this is a non-spoiler section and you've done a really subpar job marking your spoilers.

Spoiler tag is done like this:
SPOILERY TEXT!
to create

Spoiler

Honestly this would probably fit best in Feedback and Suggestions. Bit late for that, but I'd recommend adjusting your post with proper spoiler tags. As it is you made the spoilers WHITE (I, among many others, use the dark theme) so they actually stick out more.

I know how the spoiler tag works, thanks. I just did that way because one person said he/she considered that the things colored were spoilers, althought they are not since even devs discussed that particular topic in this subforum.

Anyway, I didn't want to bother anyone with it and hide it nonetheless. I didn't thought about the themes, so my apologies for the inconvinience. I'll change it right away.

I've finally finished the game - had to force myself at first to be honest, the controls are terrible and the fetch quests are worthless - but have little interest now to start a new playthrough

I guess for now I'll replay DA:O for XXXX time and then play DA2 for 11th time, I think and only then will try DA:I again

If I wasn't a fan of the lore and franchise I would drop the game and never return to it

Funny how people insist in "I PLAYED BG AND I LOVE INQUISITION", well, ok, love it, but it clearly wasn't made for BG fans, nor NWN, nor DAO fans, not even DA2 fans, it was made from Markvid Gaidarrah and to Markvid Gaidarrah, actually from EA to EA and it worked wonders for them.

There are many different kind of people who are fans of these games, so I don't see how it was made or not made for fans.

I think one needs to find a pacing that makes this game interesting to them. For me it's: do a main story mission --> explore things / do side quests untill most of the war table missions are done, do next story mission (more war table missions pop up) rinse and repeat.

The game has many flaws, but what I really appreciate in this game is the diversity of your companions, and the addition of those that feel more grounded and less exaggerated than others.

And the fact that they did a great job with the environment, not even ES did this so well, it still feels a miniature world, but at least I spend less time pretending that I'm in a forest or a castle, or a dungeon.

Can't comment on combat, not playing it for combat, but I will probably play this game for many months to come.

I did check all the videos i could to get as much info possible before buying, glad i did kept my wallet closed. There is no replay value on this title and multiplayer should have been a coop mode, like it was for dungeon siege.

there is some stuff done right but its so little that still not worth the money or time.

Now the hype of being new is calming down and players are slowly waking up

I have 8 characters on the go @_@ I have my canon playthrough where I do the completionist aspect on nightmare and the other ones jsut to explore different paths. I'm still enjoying the game a great deal and they will be patching more free content soon - adding what they weren't able to finish before release.

Maybe you'll be motivated then to finish :)

I almost made it to the end, but wound up losing interest and stopped some weeks ago.  I doubt I'll ever finish this game, let alone attempt a second playthrough... I mean, it wasn't horrible, but it just wasn't worth the effort after a certain point.  Now that I've read about the ending on the internet, there is literally no reason for me to finish this game, so... that's that.

Funny how that can work, When ME3 was released, I chose not to purchase the game, and went and watched the controversial endings that had so many disliked. I was fine with the ones that were likely to be my probable outcomes. Then after gaining info on which characters to avoid, I bought the game, and have ca. 1070+ hrs invested.

With DAI, I have 250+ hrs invested in the first campaign, and have now seen one of the conclusions, and 410+ hrs overall in attmpts to see others. Am guessing some do not care for the solo MMO like environs, but personally enjoying them quite a lot. The game and Bioware deserve all of the awards this game is receiving to date.

Is... that a typo?  Over one thousand hours of ME3?  o_o  Are you talking about multiplayer or something?

I am Techless, but this is what is recorded on my Origin acct for that title. On Steam, I have 2800+ hrs for Skyrim. And as noted elsewhere, I am homebound, and gaming is a method for passing the time while stirring the mind.

Huh... even so, that must be something like 9 or more playthroughs... ME3 is that good then?  Maybe I'll give it a try some day.  A glitch kept me from importing Shepard's face so I didn't bother, but perhaps I was too hasty to give up on it.

I enjoy the story quite a bit, and applaud the Citadel DLC for placing some humor into the overwhelming drama of the tale. There is also a DLC for selecting dome choices from the previous games; only a few, and nothing as detailed as The Keep, but it helps if one tires of a set static background. And my new fave class is the Sentinel; more versatile than some others.

Back to DAI, I enjoyed playing SWTOR solo, so the MMO atmosphere was appealing to me. That said, I am not a fan of MMO's, crowds, and some other linked issues. Both SWTOR and DAI allowed me to RP my characters, explore, and select a variety of comrades for different campaigns. Perhaps some folks have tired of other MMO's; have a suspicion that a few critics have forgotten about playing RPG's and expect the mechanics to be the focus. But for myself, DAI continues to entertain, and has some wonderful characters set in a wondermous story.

Holy crap. I don't know how you do it. ME3's story was terrible, especially the endings. It put me off the franchise for a year. I eventually loaded up ME because it's awesome and gave ME2 a go as well, though I didn't finish that playthrough.

No it's not. Well, it's kinda in the same boat as DAI : there is good parts (the writing and dialogues are pretty good) and there are bad ones (the plot is TERRIBLE, the endings are laughably bad).

It's less boring than DAI (no filler) but it's more irritating (much more wasted potential).
I consider DA2 the worst Bioware game (strictly speaking, NWN OC is worse, but NWN is about the editor and not really the OC in my eyes, so...), but ME3 the worst wasted opportunity in the whole decade.
