Entirely depends on your main character and party composition: if you're already playing as a sword and shield warrior or are running with Blackwall too, then by all means give it a go. Her specialisation is less tanky than Blackwall's and some of her powers put out more damage if wielding a greatweapon, so it can work. It all depends on what difficulty you are playing at, which npcs you like running with, and if you have friendly fire turned on (two-handed abilities have a tendency to squish nearby allies and hence require more direct control). If nothing else, respec necklaces are cheap and easy to come by, so you can always give it a bit of a try. You may find your party feels more fragile without a dedicated s&s tank, but that's a judgement call only you can make.

I find 2h templar to be pretty great against everything but bosses. Definitely lackluster against dragons. If you're playing on nightmare you may want to grab the damage reduction passives from W&S tree and combat roll.

I normally play rogue or mage so I used her as mainly sword and shield until I got blackwall. After that I turned made her 2h and it's worked pretty well. Templar specialization seems to favor 2h.

Seems like I need to switch Cassandra/Blackwall around in my game. Only problem is is that my Inquisitor is already a sword/shield champion so Blackwall will be kinda useless.

since she is my tank and every warrior anyways needs the passives from the W&S tree i just made her stay that way. 2 handed is kind of wonky in this game, lacklustre skills, no damage mitigation/avoidance, No gap closer. While W&S has great passives, decent damage low cool down skills, a good gap closer in lunge attack and a sustainable in shield wall which helps immensely with survivability.

So stay W&S as it is a lot better rounder and balanced than the 2 handed tree and every warrior anyways needs the passives from the W&S tree.
