It's actually a bit funny when you have 2 or more legionnaires on the team. They'll lampshade the monotonous and repetitive MP party banter:

 

Legio 1: "Once in the deep roads, I held off a group of darkspawn for 2 days"

Legio 2: "Actually, I believe I've done the exact same thing"

I had to put the controller down for a few seconds I was laughing so hard the first time I heard that. Every now and then you'd get banter that is rare and downright hilarious--and great one is when the Keeper Neria freaks out at Luka the Alchemist for her jabbering about mushrooms--but too many of the starting banter is just tedious. It's also a shame there is no response to the second comment or perhaps a third person chiming in. Some of the best SP convos are when specific trios of your allies conversate. Maybe they could give a brief RB option to respond to a comment like in SP.

I actually killed a wyvern using my Katari.  It wouldn't let me loot the head though

The odd snarky replies are pretty good though.  Usually the reaver or keeper or necro.

The voice actors for the default characters are amazingly bad, especially when compared to the other classes like the Reaver.
