Well, I let the Templars get subverted, and then conscripted the Mages. So team neither?
Team Mages or Team Templars?

Im kinda interested to hear if people rather consider themselves (in da world/lore in general) on the mages side or on the templar side and if your view/siding has changed over the course of the games?
I considered myself on the mages side for dao, da2 but have now finally reconsidered and came to the conclusion that mages are just dangerous and the templars were right all along... how about you?
I am anti-circle, but not necessarily anti-Templar

Yet when a sentient race asks for freedom, demands freedom, and than fights for freedom. They probably deserve their freedom, espicially after the highest cost of all. One's life and the life of others in the name of freedom.
These actions alone, imo show freedom is deserved.

I actually really hated this outcome. I feel they could've added just a small bit of ominous foreshadowing like 'Though the mages got their freedom and were generally accepted, sightings of abominations became more common throughout the south' or something to show the negativity of having mages run rampant. Instead, we got an ending that pretty much trivializes everything we've been taught about mages and magic and the necessity of Templars.
I am not impressed by the Leliana ending, myself. "College of Enchanters" is different from "Circle of Magi" ... how, exactly? Oh, a place where they can gather in safety to study and practice magic -- what a novel idea! No one's come up with that before. Well, other than when the Circle of Magi itself was conceived, so, congratulations on reinventing that wheel. It has a cuter name, I suppose, but it's just silly that they went through the trouble of fighting and dissolving the Circle just to create the same damn thing. The thought of just fixing what was already there clearly did not occur to them.
And, that it's working, "for the moment." Well I never doubted that mages would make the most of complete freedom for a short time. The Tevinter Circle of Magi (post-Andraste) did as much, though what happened next was not so wonderful. Heh, "for the moment." Come back to me when you can boast near-on a millennium of steady functionality like the 'Circle had achieved.
While I've learned not to put anything past them, I would confidently bet against BioWare ever making this ending canon. Either they will have to uncharacteristically show the mages policing themselves without problem, or they will create Tevinter South and upset those who actually believed this solution would work after having failed time and again.

I was team "both are idiots." I actually liked Vivienne as Divine because she reinstates the Circle and the Templars, but centralizes control. I believe her convo when she says her Circle experience was perfectly fine, but everyone has a different perspective because every Circle is different. There was a lack of standardization that allowed situations like the one that fired the mage rebellion to occur.
Before, it seemed like Templars just did whatever they felt like until a Seeker decided to check in on them, that's a ridiculous method of policing oneself. Mages should have more freedom, but should certainly not have the option to remain untrained and unwatched. I really wish you could find out if mages could endure Seeker training, as this would solve just about everything.

I keep on hearing that you can choose any, but on my playthrough I was only offered one choice: to do the templar mission. Can anyone send me a PM telling me how to go about doing the mage mission? I wanted to be pro-mage, but I wasn't able to. Is it a bug, or do I have to do something, like tell Vivienne I'm pro-mage?

Did you go to Redcliff village in the hinterlands yet? Because you cant start the mage mission other wise.

More like Team Inquisition. I end up conscripted both the Templars and the Mages in different play-through, although I find it difficult to sympathize the Mages while it's easier to feel pity for the Templars in DAI.

The other two since one is a non-mage Chantry loyalist and the other a Dalish Andrastian convert who learns the abilities of the Templar, allured because of dear Cullen.
IRL I'm team Templar. Of course, a more lenient organization who doesn't punch down or abuse privileges, but I'd rather be safe than very sorry. Plus cool armor. I do love mages but I have to take the underrated knight order that has cool abilities over the done and done again sorcery.

Having just done the templar quest this afternoon, I'm team "Not a PITA". At least the mages side doesn't have a timed quest that, if the timer drops to zero you have to start all over again. I must have run back to that hall 10 times...and I play on CASUAL! because I had limited time to scout and learn the map before having to run back so everyone didn't die.
No King Alistair/Anora cameo.
And Connor was dead/gone from the docks when i went to Redcliffe later. That one NPC being missing made the entire town feel empty to me.
From now on, even if they are idiots, I'm choosing mages.

No King Alistair/Anora cameo.
That cameo was like two lines. And it basically consisted of him telling his mom to GTFO.

...what happens to the mage children at Redcliffe if you go with the Templars? Or isn't it mentioned?

It isn't mentioned but considering what happens to the mages if you side with the Templars, the children are either killed, brainwashed, or enslaved. How cheery /s
Not surprising considering that Gaider confirmed that even children are killed during an annulment so supporting the templars in DAO or DA2 inevitable means supporting child-killing. Guess templar supporters forget this or have no problems killing children which tells a lot about templar supporters.

I'm going to pick a vague promise with some shady Tevinter magister over Ferelden's protection because I feel threatened by nonexistent threat, and I'm ungrateful ****** who'll allow that shady Tevinter to throw a person who just give me and my people a sanctuary away.

I wish there was an option to just ****** slap her or something if you side mages. The most satisfying part of that quest is watching King Alistair call her out on her bullsh*t and telling her she was no longer welcome in Ferelden.

I wish such option exist as well. I would like to judge her after what she did it's too bad that if you side with the Mages she got it off easy. Believe it or not but Fiona is ruining the Mages for me in DAI. Indeed, that was the most satisfying part and I couldn't care less about Alistair is too harsh on his mother. He would be a poor king if he put his own need above his people. I think he made the right call to tell her that, and at least Fiona will always eat a humble pie regardless of who rules Ferelden.

I'm baffled you can't judge her and Alexius. I just. Booo.
If I could judge her I might actually be tempted to side with the mages. But I can't and letting her get off scot free is bleh.
