Not trying to come off as a troll or a 'boobs and buns' gamer, but after seeing characters like Miranda, Tali, Samantha, Isabella, I was surprised at how ugly the majority of NPC's and party members are in DAI. Compared to Mass Effect 3, hell, even DA 2, they all look hideous for the most part with no sex appeal except for Vivienne and Leilianna. Even the characters on the race cards in DAI look better and more appealing than the actual characters themselves, especially in the dreaded multiplayer.
I hope ME 4's NPC's don't look ugly like in Dragon Age Inquisition

I quite like how Josephine looks. Cassandra too, though I like short-haired women in general
I haven't played the game, only watched videos on YouTube

I thought the characters in DAI look absolutly stunning. So much details in their skin. Only make the hair more life-like, and their body less barbie plastic, and its next to perfect. IF ME4 have the same quality, I am happy.

I always view the Mass Effect games as kinda sci-fi James Bond flicks, there's going to be a smooth talking protagonist, explosions and extremely attractive women.
Dragon Age on the other hand I see as being more representative of the medieval time period where hot women from the view of modern standards would have been a dime a dozen.

Current gen only means this shouldn't be an issue although I'm more concerned about gameplay being good

I hope so too, not that the chara design in DAI is bad or else but I want to see more appealing characters, especially women (The Witcher 3 is doing a good job with Ciri, Triss etc), I m playing video games because I want to dream and see nice things, so for the christ sake stop giving me ugly women Bioware ![]()
But you know I m not really worried, the ME team is very different from the DA team, they always did a great job on the chara design, Liara, James, Miranda, Ashley, Edi, Samara even Jack she's was damn hot despite being bald.

Cassandra is good looking especially with the scar on her cheek. Josephine is nice looking. Vivienne and Leliana are good looking as well.
I'll let Cassandra slide because her personality more than makes up for her looks and even adds to her sex appeal. Josephine on the other hand is cool, but I think she would look a lot better with her hair down and a more appealing outfit.

I agree with the op. Josephine is cute but we only get to kiss her so she doesn't count as romance and Cassandra is a man in a woman's body. I can't believe how we got all these unattractive companions in DA:I. You would think it was a different company who gave us characters like Morrigan, Leliana, Ashley and Miranda. And Bioware is wondering why they have such horrible sales. I really hope we get attractive love interests in Mass Effect 4.

I can't recall ever seeing an ugly human-NPC in any ME. I want more ugly people in MEN. Besides my "Ugly Shepard(Shepard is a place holder name before I get any "no Shep in MEN" replys)" I create for fun.

Holly hell, Dragon Age hair was awful. The animations were also pretty dire.
I wasn't really bothered by the characters' looks personally.

Also, don't make the best looking NPC's in ME 4 unromancable like you did in DAI. It almost feels like a troll from Bioware when they do this.
Why even give us a love option response to Vivienne only to have her reply, 'how would that benefit me?' Makes no sense, especially if she's already a mistress, and friends of the wife to some other dude, who is married and high up the political food chain.
I am the Herald Of Andraste, leading the Inquisition which she is apart of. It could benefit her a great deal to be my boo.

I'd like a female Krogan npc/companion/adviser in ME:Next. I doubt she would fit the human expectations of what is attractive.

Which is probably why Eve was covered up so much in ME 3. Only parts on her we got to see were her eyes and her cab muscles. Off subject, the Banshees are pretty hot once you throw a paper bag over their face.

BioWare still has a long way to go with their character's faces and animations of them. DA:I has that weird vaseline look and other things. Are these bugs or something?
Mass Effect wasn't too good either. Each game upped the resolution without improving the animations (I think in ME3 they actually got worse) which just made them look increasingly disconcerting.

I agree with the OP that DAI is pretty disappointing and it almost looks like a policy to avoid women who are too good looking. Morrigan does still look stunning but then she is a returning character and she almost highlights what a poor selection there is for LI's. It's also interesting to see how Cassandra has changed from her two previous appearances. Hopefully ME won't suffer from this and too be honest I don't see how it can if they keep the Asari in the game.

I would like to see a male Salarian love interest for my female protagonist. Just two individuals who learn to care a lot about each other (no sex at all!). In ME3 the dialogue between that Salarian soldier and the human civilian lady who sold her expensive skycar to buy him top of the line armour, she seemed to be very much in love with him. He's not good looking by human standards at all, but I think a relationship like this could work in ME:NEXT.

I'm guessing that first pic was taken from XBox360, PS3 or an overmatched PC. The game looks nothing like that, typically. Sera is just butt ugly, as the second picture shows. She is the only character I consider ugly in the game, and she's more than ugly enough to carry that banner alone. She is also obnoxious beyond imagining.

None of the female advisors or companions in DAI look ugly. For once we didn't get unrealistic supermodels in swimwear to the rescue. Some people need to get out more, and get a dose of reality.
