Darling - a 'no-lifer' I am not, I guarantee. I simply brought up an interesting topic and in case you did not notice, it was meant rather tongue-in-cheek. It's actually making me giggle that you are so hostile about the entire thing. Relax, it will do you some good. I still think a Romance DLC with lots of  additional combat/blood and gore would go over quite well.

I admit to finding the romances a fun diversion, certainly not the only or even high priority part of the game, but then again I adore the personal interactions in the game, romantic or not. It adds another dimension that I really enjoy. Would I play it without them? Sure, I like a good Vaughn-decapitation as much as the next girl and i get perverse pleasure when sticking an axe into an ogres skull.



I also happen to wish I could romance Sten, Teagan and Loghain. (Seriously, Zev and I *could* compete for points then!) and I agree that if their DLC included more romantic options....well..... it probably *would* be a gold-mine....as long as the other camp gets their level-ups, uber gear etc as well as it having something to do with the story line. Maybe I wouldn't make it EXCLUSIVELY about relationships.... but as an ex-advertising person.... yep, i could see the appeal. I also can see the reasons they don't do it too though



lol some of these ideas border on video-game smut of course, but i happen to think thats funny and light-hearted fun. I really liked Teagans Tea Party... I want "Dear Loghain: Love me or Orlais Wins" this week personally. *grins*

Wow!  Aren't we snitty today.  Yes, I like gaming, but it is nice to have a little romance as well.  I'm sorry your life is static to not allow for both enjoyable gaming and a little pixelated flirting.  Considering this is an RPG and not some generic shooter, I think a littled added role playing content would be quite welcome.  If you like, we could also ask for a dlc that is strictly killing things if that's what you consider "gaming"?

I know right, it's almost as bad as someone who is in it just for the imaginary exploring and hacking at imaginary enemies with your imaginary allies! Don't even get me started on the games where you play as a commander of an imaginary force and imaginary buildings.

Stupid people and their stupid imaginary past-times!

What are they going to do next, build a box which you can only sit and watch as imaginary characters go about their imaginary romances, action, drama, etc?

Funny stuff.  The creative minds here in the forums never ceases to amaze me.  I think its why I enjoy it to be honest.  I may not agree with everything, but nary a day goes by that i don't *actually* laugh out loud, at least a few times.

You obviously have never seen how addicted women get to the Sim's games.... 

Women's brains really are different.  We think in straight lines and they think in circles.  If it makes women happy to have Romance DLC's then it's cool by me.

Hey now just becuase I play the sims... and I play it alot doesn't mean I'm addicted to it for the romantic reasons... I also like to torture sims you know.. creating people ... etc makes me feel godly...

Well.. I would like to say my opinion as male...
I believe that romances today are one of the most important features in RPG and I am happy too see that developers give them high importance when they build the game.. because romances contribute to make the game more realistic than in past.
But I would say that not only romances are important but also relationships with other companions are very important...
I would like to know (just to give you an example) if you could imagine how "Lord of the Rings" would be without Aragorn/Arwin Romance or without the strong friendship beetween Gimli and Legolas. Will you think it would be the same? I don't think so...
In novels, fictions and movies love and friendship always played a great role. Today videogames may be even better than fictions or novels, and this thing would not happened without introducing emotional involvement of the characters...Yes, for sure game must not only be romances, because RPG is composed by many other things, but we need them for sure to improve game's beauty
I believe that the better way to play RPG is in identifying ourselves with our players.. Romances play a vital role in order to reach this goal.. so I hope in future we will always see more and more romances...
In my opinion (but you may also disagree with this because this is only my point of view) RPG without emotional involvement will not be RPG, but only arcade

Really,... why do people come on forums and tell people to 'get a life"?  As if they are the authority on living life.  I see at least one post like that on every thread....  

Enough about that... I think romance in video games is really great.  I think the best movies are the ones that tap into all of your emotions so why not games.  Its doesn't belong in every game but in general I'd like to see more of it.   I seriosly hope that Awakenings has some continued or new romance options in it.
