I have some questions regarding how the campaign plays out if I pick a rogue. My previous character was an elven female mage and it was very nice that everybody commented about me being a mage more so a necromancer. For my second run, I'd like pick either a human female rogue or a dalish rogue.

This game seemed very mage centric to me. Everybody recognized what I am, Sera was freaking out on it a few times, I even got a lot of special dialogues  because me being dalish + a mage.

How does this work out as a rogue ? I  have a very bad feeling that this isn't the case for a rogue or warriror AT ALL.

Does anybody even acknowledge that I'm a rogue ingame ?I mean like Sera making comments about it like she did when I was a mage. Also do rogues get some rogue dialogues ?

As for picking the race, the only reason I'd go as a dalish again is their gear and the feeling of being the minority.. The armors ingame are kinda the same, but the dalish elves have some nice looking armor + the special dialogues I most likely won't get as a human.

I really cannot decide what to pick.

Leliana talks about how it's nice that her spies will feel like you're one of them. I haven't played far enough into the game as my qunari rogue to tell you more. Honestly, humans are boring. I'd say go elf again if you enjoy feeling like an outsider, as I do. Or role a qunari or dwarf. I never play as humans so long as there are other options available to me.

I have level 19 human mage savegame and yes.... elf was much more interesting. Still the rogue part is what I'm most interested in. Never played one in my life and in this game they look very promising. I just wonder if the world around you reacts as it did to you being a mage or even close to it.

Having played a male human and female dwarven rogue, I'll say rogues really don't get all that much commentary or reactivity as far as their class goes (aside from your specialization).

An archer rogue would fit the Dalish given you were a hunter/huntress for your clan and sent in as a spy. In fact, it fits a dwarf and qunari given the carta/merc background. For a human if you RP her as a Sebastian type (rogue in class only, otherwise noble) it could work.

On a gameplay note, I'll say dual wielding rogues are far more effective in my experience. Requires a bit of forethought given their squishiness but they can do insane damage, especially on high levels. Archer rogues take a bit of work but come into their own on later levels.

Not really. Mage tends to have those dialogue adjustments. Rogue is fun though. I've said before though that if there was a game for mages, this is it. Moreso than Hawke.

The true game for mages has not yet come!

I love the first conversation with Josie about dwarf rogue past. You have great flirt line to start the conversation with and you can play it out like you were a badass and even have an appropriate flirt line about it. That was very interesting and fun.

I tried mage and archer rogue. Gotta say playing as the archer is much more fun. I ran a Dalish so I specced her as a sniper type and try to go for 'one shot one kill' on normal enemies and first blow cripple boss. That's gameplay though.

In terms of story, female mage elf romancing Solas takes the cake for me. It just feels more integral to all the ancient elven relics, powers, politics, lore and temples going on in the story. I RPed a devout Dalish First whose faith is shaken by all the revelation going on in the story and at the end of the game has to think long and hard about what the elves are as a people and how to go forward in the future. Also, a romanced Solas offers very interesting perspective as well as a possible vital plot change in future content (check Solas's end game tarot card. The romanced Tarot card is night and day in themes and atmosphere compared to the usual 'Tower' tarot card.
