WHY!? Why is the A.I so bad? Why can you see more of the battlefield with the third person camera than you can with the tactical camera? Why are the controls so bad?
I mean jesus christ, have they not played their own game?

I turned tactics off on cassandra, tell her to attack an enemy and then I enable shield wall, what does she do? she turns around, walks a bit and stands there with her ass to the enemy.

Whats the point of the tactical camera if you can't see anything with it.

Oh and the hairstyles suck.

Just needed to vent a bit. If anyone has any tips I'd be grateful.

You're about six weeks late. People have been complaining about all this stuff since launch day.

Bioware said they were going to work on the PC controls, but the rest is anyone's guess.

The AI has always been trash. The difference was that in DA2 and DAO when we disbaled it then we was *fully* disabled. And the UI was better making it less of a chore to micromanage.

Devs have posted that they have, and haven't had any problems. I suppose it's not really surprising that a game developer would be able to pick up a new control scheme fairly quickly.

I can't say I had problems adapting to the scheme. I just don't like some of it. It seems weird to me that a PC gamer would have any issue rebinding keys into something ideal. The default keys might as well be randomly generated.

While waiting, why don't you pass the time a little with a classic like "Command and Conquer" .. a funny game, try to keep your Tiberium-Harvesters from getting anihilated because they once again drove into the enemy base! The joy that is AI ... I see the positive, it seems we are still miles away from Skynet destroying us all ^^

Oh yes, the AI shits me off too.

Another thing that does my head in is when you talk to somebody your Inquisitor starts dancing/shaking like an epileptic on crack.

I didn't mean the control scheme, I just meant how the character and camera feels to control, The sluggish movement when you start running from a standstill, the limited camera view, the little cursor thing that you have in tactical camera that gets stuck on terrain.

I wonder why we can't walk backwards. If you try to reposition a bit in close combat you will turn your back to the enemy.
If you issue commands in tactical camera and then switch to third person camera your companions often ignore the commands you gave.

This game makes me rage so here's some more ranting.

Why does my characters eyebrows and tattoo disappear when the camera is more than one meter away from my character?

Why is most of the companions so ugly, I planned on romancing sera but she was even worse looking ingame than on the screenshots and her personality just turned me away completely.
This is the first bioware game that I didn't find any character that I want to romance except maybe iron bull but sadly I'm not into that kind of thing.

Do I really need to unequip my companions gear to upgrade it in Haven?

These fetch quests are meaningless

Whoever designed the terror demons abilities needs a slap in the face.

No you can swap trough characters at crafting table so you dont have to unequip anything to upgrade it.

About the rest of the things you mentioned cant rly help you with any of those, they are working on patch 3 though which is suposed to change PC mouse+kb controls and ui to some degree.to make it more PC player friendly.

Issue Hold and Shield Wall commands while in Tac-Cam; seems to lengthen the duration for said function.

Set defensive abilities to preferred; taunts that boost Guard and Shield Wall included.

Deactivate Fade Step from mages when fighting Dragons; staying close can be helpful.

Try using Follow on the Warrior for ranged characters rather than choosing Controlled Character; seems to help somewhat. This is under Behavior.

Just a few things I have experienced that may be of aid.

OP, my reaction was similar to yours when I first started playing.

Just a tip concerning the AI: in every character window, pay attention to how you set your abilities. Most of my companions, for example, have their escapes/ defensive abilities set to 'preferred' to keep them out of trouble, just as my tanks have their taunts set to 'preferred'. Also, pay attention to your characters' behaviour (playing a mage, I mostly had the tank follow himself and had set the other companions to defend him). Of course the tactics are lacking, but they're not quite as terrible as many people make them out to be. ;)

I don't think this is particularly good design, but it wouldn't draw nearly as many complaints if they'd bothered to document their game at all.

Thanks for the tips guys :)

Most of my frustration now is coming from the shieldwall ability and how it works or rather doesn't work with the A.I and the fact that you can't walk backwards.

Wut ?

Being a game developper makes you immune to sh...ty UI ? Is that some kind of superpower ?

They also supposedly made this game "as a PC game, with PC as a main development platform", and we all know how it turned out. Bioware has become a constant liar the past years, don't hold your breath on their empty promises.

The problem with the tactical camera is that it -- always -- starts high, almost directly overhead; and can then pitched down to ground level, but can't be tilted up. So sometimes with tall targets like rifts or giants, you can't see all the actions unless you pull back quite far, which is not always possible.

Otherwise, that 2D motion is pretty good. It can go wherever you can walk, just much faster, and you don't have to jump IIRC. If the reticle "falls off" a flight of stairs onto a lower landing, you have to "walk" back up the stairs. If you fall off a cliff with no way to get back, then you're stuck; but you should be able to re-center on someone (by double-clicking their portrait?)

So what I do on the PC is enter the mode by pressing T or scrolling out; mouse down to ground level, strafe out to the side Q/E and rotate A/D to get a view of the field. Continue to use those keys to move the camera as needed while auto-attacking. Stay in that mode after the fight to auto-walk-over-and-loot.

Yup, we're a bunch being dispaointed in that "PC port".
