1. The male elf has the build of my Welsh grandmother when she was 86y and ~85 lbs. That is, extremely thin, with shoulders narrower than the waist, skinny legs, and toothpicks for arms. This isn't really obvious until you finish the tutorial and get your new armor. Seems they switch the body on you, or it just becomes blatantly obvious in the new armor.
I can't play it. I look at the character, and it just looks so incredibly odd I had to walk it over to Solas and compare them. Solas actually has shoulders; this one doesn't. It's bizarre.
2. DirectX errors and crashes are horribly common. Dropping to windowed mode and artifacts, also so. My PC can handle some pretty graphics intensive games, without these problems. It's just DA:I I have been a bit worried it's going to wreck my PC, but I know it can't really do that much given the safeties. Still, worrisome because it's not supposed to happen.
3. Boxed in gameplay. For an open world, the story is too condensed. You've got to finish it by level 19, and supposedly also seal fade rifts, and achieve a bunch of other stuff. Pretty sure if I'd done all that, and actually explored more then just Crestwood, Hinterlands, Fallowmire, Storm Coast, and the required bit of each other map to do the main quest components in each, I'd have been level 30 before finishing the storyline quest.
I literally did not even stop in the Wilds, on my way to the temple. Just went right through and entered. The Emerald Graves and Empress du Leon the same. I haven't got a clue what else is in them. I didn't do any Fade Rifts in regions other than the Hinterlands, Western Approach, Fallowmire, Crestwood, and Storm Coast. Missed 80% of the mosaics, and the Astariums. I didn't even kill a Dragon until the Storyline, and never collected the shards in those other areas.
It's rather like it's all jammed up, with a too big world, which you are left to almost pointlessly explore and find the missing pieces in after, as useless as they are. ..and Solas. No idea where he is, or if I'm even supposed to find him in DA:I, as he left at the end of the story to do something weird. Very telling though.
The Grey Wardens actually got destroyed after the Story ended, but apparently not in the story. Good for that. Also got the info back on the name of the bad guy, after, again. Though L was going to be stuck in that one, as it disappeared.
Have no interest in the 'open World'. A week since I completed it, and I've only just decided to kill the Abyssal Dragon and pick up a presumably pointless agent. Frederic. It's discontinuous. After the credits rolled by, it seemed rather pointless to pursue anything else. World saved. Good, lets move on. To what? Everyone is talking about leaving, but not leaving, except Solas.
4. The results.. not as desired. I thought I had decision making ability in this process. Leliana as the Divine. I never encouraged her; I actually encouraged Cassandra and split off a romantic relationship with her in the process because I knew it would be pointless. The Wardens apparently split and become divisive. Whatever; they're idiots. Thanks for trying. Celene rules with a terrified squeak, and Leliana is a terrible divine. Great.. I of course, expected her to be a softy who never stood up for herself, because that is so much like her ..not that I ever wanted her to be divine.
It made me want to start over, allow Celene to be murdered, and be a general jerk all the way through, so everything would turn out as it should, rather than exactly the opposite of what was intended. But wasn't there some quote in there about that. Maybe that's the point; that nothing ever works as intended, and the game is deliberately flubbing it. No idea..
