1. The male elf has the build of my Welsh grandmother when she was 86y and ~85 lbs. That is, extremely thin, with shoulders narrower than the waist, skinny legs, and toothpicks for arms. This isn't really obvious until you finish the tutorial and get your new armor. Seems they switch the body on you, or it just becomes blatantly obvious in the new armor.

I can't play it. I look at the character, and it just looks so incredibly odd I had to walk it over to Solas and compare them. Solas actually has shoulders; this one doesn't. It's bizarre.

2. DirectX errors and crashes are horribly common. Dropping to windowed mode and artifacts, also so. My PC can handle some pretty graphics intensive games, without these problems. It's just DA:I I have been a bit worried it's going to wreck my PC, but I know it can't really do that much given the safeties. Still, worrisome because it's not supposed to happen.

3. Boxed in gameplay. For an open world, the story is too condensed. You've got to finish it by level 19, and supposedly also seal fade rifts, and achieve a bunch of other stuff. Pretty sure if I'd done all that, and actually explored more then just Crestwood, Hinterlands, Fallowmire, Storm Coast, and the required bit of each other map to do the main quest components in each, I'd have been level 30 before finishing the storyline quest.

I literally did not even stop in the Wilds, on my way to the temple. Just went right through and entered. The Emerald Graves and Empress du Leon the same. I haven't got a clue what else is in them. I didn't do any Fade Rifts in regions other than the Hinterlands, Western Approach, Fallowmire, Crestwood, and Storm Coast. Missed 80% of the mosaics, and the Astariums. I didn't even kill a Dragon until the Storyline, and never collected the shards in those other areas.

It's rather like it's all jammed up, with a too big world, which you are left to almost pointlessly explore and find the missing pieces in after, as useless as they are. ..and Solas. No idea where he is, or if I'm even supposed to find him in DA:I, as he left at the end of the story to do something weird. Very telling though.

The Grey Wardens actually got destroyed after the Story ended, but apparently not in the story. Good for that. Also got the info back on the name of the bad guy, after, again. Though L was going to be stuck in that one, as it disappeared.

Have no interest in the 'open World'. A week since I completed it, and I've only just decided to kill the Abyssal Dragon and pick up a presumably pointless agent. Frederic. It's discontinuous. After the credits rolled by, it seemed rather pointless to pursue anything else. World saved. Good, lets move on. To what? Everyone is talking about leaving, but not leaving, except Solas.

4. The results.. not as desired. I thought I had decision making ability in this process. Leliana as the Divine. I never encouraged her; I actually encouraged Cassandra and split off a romantic relationship with her in the process because I knew it would be pointless. The Wardens apparently split and become divisive. Whatever; they're idiots. Thanks for trying. Celene rules with a terrified squeak, and Leliana is a terrible divine. Great.. I of course, expected her to be a softy who never stood up for herself, because that is so much like her ..not that I ever wanted her to be divine.

It made me want to start over, allow Celene to be murdered, and be a general jerk all the way through, so everything would turn out as it should, rather than exactly the opposite of what was intended. But wasn't there some quote in there about that. Maybe that's the point; that nothing ever works as intended, and the game is deliberately flubbing it. No idea..

this appears to be the complaint thread - so here goes

economy - i found lots of different kinds of armor, but still had to buy schematics. my problem is that it was hard to decipher just what i was buying. it had a name, and component list, but no general description - "this is tier 2 medium armor" or whatnot. i was looking for armor schematic for my rogue, but ended up buying light and heavy armor, no med. armor. later in the game i purchased something i already had - i wanted tier 3 armor, but ended up buying another tier 2 armor.

tactics - i couldn't figure out how to get my AI characters to use anything besides healing potions. i could be doing it wrong too.

spells/abilities - since you can only have 8 (7 if you want to use the mark of the Inq.) it would be nice if the spell trees clearly marked which ones were active or passive. i.e. left side is passive, right side is active.

i might be misremembering how the game plays, but i thought i would write it down nonetheless.

Broken look system.. We can't wear/equip our favorite armors and weapons thanks to this broken loot system....

AoE spells, they're so awkward if you try to do them in action mode. Tactical Cam is the best option for them. Sucks that I gotta switch to Tact. Cam whenever I need to cast barrier though.

Apart from a lot of the stuff listed here - a teeny, tiny thing:
I have a 2H warrior, wielding a big 2H sword, and wearing heavy armour.

In other Dragon Ages, we had combat shouts like "For the Grey Wardens!", or "For Freedom" or other such stuff by our squaddies.
What do we get from DAI's apparently kickass female/human PC?

"Somebody HELP!"

Lets see, sadly there are so many items:

- no walk

- horrible pc port

- horrible companion AI, behaviors, no tactics (no tactics needed at all, in fact I play this game the exact way I played in Skyrim except DAI's companions aren't even useful pack mules). Tactics or lack of are terrible.

- horrible Inventory hud for pc

- mmo style reviving downed companions.

- limited inventory pack

- Deluxe weapons made obsolete early in the game

- limited potions - no mixing of potions

- Limited skills slots

- sonar map, sonar looting

- companions vanishing into thin air when mounting horse

-  Boring Skyrim ripoffs such as collection fetch quests that are just time wasters that have nothing to do with the story.

- underwhelming main story, lack of focus, lack of immersion and general who cares attitude about people, story

- Haven and Redcliffe -  ugh where to even begin there. Have they even played their own franchise?( I guess they are following the Martin rule, make up anything as you go along, no one will remember anyways)

- having to get the story through pages left around instead of playing the story.

- Dragon glitches - health bar empties yet dragons don't die and don't drop weapons. Instead they flap their wings, roar, shoot up in the air and down again. If I turn away the dragons appear in the sky then blink in and out. Every single time. Yea - I know I can reload by maker, I just don't have the heart to replay another tedious boring, nontactical - action heartbreaking battle.

- eliminations of the slow motion graphics when administering the final blow on a dragon ( as in DAO)

- eliminations of finishing movements that were in DAO that made battles fun

- and if Blackwall's story is shaping up as I fear - add that disappointment to the list - stolen valor indeed.

eh, there is more, but I don't have the heart, its too sad. A beloved franchise, beloved world and poof - its gone forever.

(there are some good points - voice acting, character writing  are excellent as always and the graphics are beautiful as always. The villas in Emerald Graves ( I think) are just stunning. The Storm Coast, deep roads, Emerald Graves are amazing.) In fact these are the only reasons I am still playing this and want to finish.

Just a shame.

Agree with every point you made. There are som amazing and good points in the game, but BAAAAD points too
