I also would like deeper more involved romance and friendship options. Its really what sets this game apart from many other RPG's out there. The romance with Alistair in the first game was lovely but the cutscenes and interactions could have been more involved and take longer, and they only got shorter and less moving as the games progressed. I barely felt connected to Cullen at all, hell I ask him for some time and I get a 15 sec cutscene where he kisses me and walks off with a smirk... so moving!

Also, If I travel around Thedas looking for logging stands and quarries to make upgrades to my hold.... can we please get upgrades that we can actually tell are upgrades. When I upgraded to the chantry garden I could see no significant difference... and never to my knoweldge received any tithes. When I upgraded to the Infirmary couldnt tell that either, and googled it to find out it was in a tiny room in the corner of the hold where people were lying on cots or mats on the floor.... surely with the effort that was put in we could have afforded to clean up the cobwebs in our new "infirmary" at least.

Just so you know, I let you die on the Destiny Ascension.  I have no regrets.

Oh, that's a shame.

Irissa is much more bi*chy.

the inability to use abilities in battle outside of the ones assigned to quick use buttons. this combined with removal of activatable stance skills removes a lot of the fun out of fighting in this game.

I follow the criticisms of this game on the forums quite closely, just to see if any representatives will give any form of comment.

But the truth is, I don't have that many issues with the game as a whole! I actually really really like it -- it's just a shame that I can't play it due to its poor optimization and a few other bugs.

So I guess my biggest qualm with the game isn't actually an aspect of the game -- it's Bioware/EA's atrocious public relations and customer service.

That and the absolutely, ridiculously, unacceptably silly hairstyles and the broken elf models  :P

-Tactics were useless playing on Nightmare the whole time.

The only time I ever used tactics was against the High Ravager in Emprise Du Lion and that was to select my party to move out of the Ravager's Fire AoE, and that Exalted Plains puzzle (using the hold command in tactics was a frustrating experience, but got it done). Every other fight was no problem.

-Accrual of Power and the wimpy Power requirements regions and campaign had.

I ended up with something like 150 power and that was without doing even a SINGLE requisition quest. People were talking about getting to Hissing Wastes at level 8 and getting best gear but this could of all been different if Bioware put up a much bigger fee for these regions. Regions only required 4, 8 and 20 power to open up...but this was never an issue. When doing my first playthrough, I noticed it right away so in my game, i only ever moved on to a different region or mission if i finished the ones with a lower "Power Level"....finished all the 4s first, then 8s, then 20s, etc. Bioware could of put a much bigger Power Req which would gate players from getting to zones too soon and ruining the game. Give me stuff to spend my Power on, i want to feel like it's a valuable currency.

-Gear that doesn't scale.

Well, i went through the regions how i thought would be best, and ended up with a lot of low level blues/purples. Would of liked to see more blues in random chests, too much white garbage. Purples should scale at the very least.

-Uneven difficulty of spawns. Give me more enemies. More respawns i say too!

I found myself limiting my party size (Nightmare) to make fights more exciting but sometimes I would run into something tough and get back to 4man. I think overall, I would of liked bigger spawns and more of them in some desolate zones, and more respawns after clearing. I liked the respawns in Hinterlands, there was one area after you go through a tunnel and there's mages duking it out, you can get 3 groups to aggro, it was EPIC, I want more of THAT, but sadly no more potential cross group aggroing after that.

The male elf looks too skinny and the arms are often bugged, I specifically haven't created one until that's fixed.

How detached everything feels. I wouldn't have thought that having a lot of the conversations in third person would be that big of a deal, but it doesn't feel like I'm talking to the people I'm talking to. The only non-companion NPC that seems to have a personality in first ten hours of the game is that dwarf that is somehow everywhere you go. You walk around killing enemy after enemy with no real context. They are just kind of there. You have to build up power to play through the immersive parts of the game, and those parts are brief, so enjoyment and immersion feels like it only comes in short bursts. There's not a lot of different ways to build the classes, so I pretty much feel like I'm on auto-pilot for the majority of my encounters. It just feels like a stripped down version of a Dragon Age game.

Mmo feeling of all quests besides main story. I feel like swtors side quests on planets even had more substance and interactivity to them. Which is bad...because that's biowares actual mmo.....

Getting the schematics I want without farming is nearly impossible. Wanting to use tier 1 items because of their pretty color, but not being able to use them because of their weak stats. sigh.

I still don't like the whole "no healing spells" bit. The healing pots don't bother me, but it's like they went from us supposedly "relying on" healing spells to now relying on barrier. Sure you don't have to use it all the time but it sure does make things easier. It made me feel like my mages didn't have much identity between them either. At least in Origins and 2 I had my healing mages or my damage mages whereas in Inquistion it feels like everybody's a damage mage and the only "support" is barrier or revival if you have to use it.  I didn't mind the action part of the combat but I can agree about the tactics not being that great. I'm not enjoying my playthrough as a rogue because I don't like how I feel like I'm the first into combat while the tank and such don't do anything until I tell them to or I attack first. I could remedy this if I played an archer, but I like the fun I have as a DW rogue :( I don't get why people think it was suppose to be like Origins though. They said it was going to be a combination of Origins and 2, not one or the other.

What as the point of saving folks in Haven when they just get replaced anyways?

A lot of the quests felt boring. For ex, when you go to light that candle in Emerald Graves. It's like you go from Point A to Point B with no depth in between.

Realllllllllllly did not like that they pulled an Ashley or Kaidan choice on us at one part lol

Ending felt rushed. Last boss fight was a joke. Seriously, the guy was tougher in DA 2's DLC than he was here

When I heard that there was only 2 voices, I assumed that meant for each race..Not for both genders entirely. More voices would've been nice because that British or the American accent doesn't sound right coming out of every race's mouth. For ex, neither voice set right with me playing as an elf.

Sera. Could not stand her. She's just too annoying

It has to be this or the lack of ability to be evil.

I run around in the game using exploding arrows on small rabbits and other wild creatures. I LOVE the way the blow up. I feel rather evil.  :P

If I can really pick just one aspect, I'll be very general and say "combat".

There is simply not much I like about it. Hitboxes are a mess, model can get in the way of hitting the hitbox, companion AI is pretty dreadful, 8 slots clearly aren't enough, it's awful that they removed the tactics system, and some melee abilities are so glitchy that they can miss a stationary target at point blank range (pommel strike, for example). I also don't like how many melee abilities cause AoE damage, but I'm beginning to suspect that they at least partly exist to counter the hitbox glitchiness.

The singlemost frustrating aspect of this game for me is actually a combination of two things:

1.)  Jumping and sliding.  I've read all over these forums a disposition from two different types of players--those that can't stand the jumping mechanic and those that berate others because they apparently don't have a grip on how to control their character.  I prefer to side with a little bit of both.  Yes, there are places that you shouldn't try to jump up because they're obviously way out of your reach.  However, at the same time, there's other places that you really can't access easily unless you try to jump five or six times until you magically hit just the right quarter of an inch of real estate to land without moving afterwards.  Sometimes shards will be hidden in areas that are obviously designed as jump puzzles, even if these wonderfully "experienced" players can get up there in record time.  Others of us aren't quite as tactile as you.  Just remember that.

agreed  if this *beta* wasn't marketed as open world.

Skyrim is open world...your character can go almost anywhere...even straight up the side of a mountain (with a little effort and control finagling).

Even the unbelievably  expensive disappointing grindfest destiny has a double jump feature in it's fake "open world"  design.

Come on Bioware... did you team with Activision and not tell us???

AI and lack of tactics... lack of rudimentary control that was present in the previous games makes combat frustrating, tedious, overall a chore to get through, with AI going off and doing whatever the hell they want, lack of more complex conditions>actions (if/then) ruins the experience

Catastrophically bad AI.  For the most part it doesn't impinge on game play except when fighting hard monsters, especially dragons.  I just finished fighting the dragon in Crescentwood and i killed it with 2 people.  Why?  Not because i wanted to see if i could, but instead because Bioware's catastrophically Broken (yes, it deserves a capital "B", it's that bad) had my two warriors just standing there getting hit, lolly gagging around and doing nothing.  I would take over and have them attack and the instant i moved to another character, back to the stupidity of running away from the dragon to stand in one spot and do nothing while getting repeatedly hit.  The worst part?  Their action icons said they were attacking, but they weren't, they just stood there.   Oh, and lets not begin to mention the ranged characters that will happily run up to the foot of the dragon so they can get trampled, after you have directed them repeatedly to stay away.

What makes me scratch my head is they put so much obvious effort into making the dragon fights so much better than previous iterations, and they gave us so many types of dragons to take on requiring different strategies, and then they ruined it by hampering the player with AI that probably couldn't be worse if they actively tried to make it bad.  The biggest difficulty being that it doesn't act this way all the time, some fights go very smoothly, even dragon fights, because the AI does exactly what it should, and then you move on to a different fight and your party completely flips out and takes stupidity to whole new levels.

I love the story, very well done, but if you are going to setup difficult battles requiring precise combat mechanics, you cannot give the players the pile of crap AI system you've given us.

Honestly, I think a lot of the repeated complaints here could be cleared up with removal of multiplayer.  I don't know why it's there, what fxn it serves, but the PvP appears to be impacting PvE which is so wrong in any game but hits the epitome here (see: limitation to 8 actions, inablity to switch weapons in combat).

Bioware's niche is the epic, choose-your-own-adventure-novel type story/game.  Every other frickin' game on the market is PvP, FPS, or some variation thereof. I can shoot zombies or apocolyptic crap or fill-in-the-blank elsewhere, ad nauseum.  Bioware is that last oasis of a good, epic story.  The last oasis.  And yet they waste dev hours on PvP which is already done and overdone in so many games.

That and the ugly as dog's shaved backside skyhold clothing. ;)

One: Festivus isn't a holiday.

My only gripe is that I can't romance Scout Harding. That's what I want, give me some DLC where players can get with her. Also, I know there are a lot of mixed and mostly negative feelings about DA2 but I really liked the characters from it. I want more than just a report from Varric that is really subjective, let me see Fenris in game, what's he doing aside from wholesale murder? What happened to Isabella, did she ever get that 'thing' of hers looked at, or discover pants? What I want is more connectivity with other characters from the cannon aside from just questing.

And I want Scout Harding. I know I'm not the only one.

Apart from game-breaking bugs, I'd say the rotten AI during combat. It basically blows the tactics out the window. Not that the game has tactics.

My single most frustrating aspect of the game is the schematics. I have been trying for weeks to get a Dalish warrior schematic (tier 2 schematic), but have only found out just to what extent the RNG hates me. There should be a purchasable schematic for every armor. My most disappointing aspect of the game is their failure to deliver on the promise of separation of stats and appearance. They said during several interviews "If you like the armor you start with you can keep making that throughout the game and it will be just as viable as any other armor". That was in no way true. I do nightmare difficulty on my first playthrough and there was a major difference in the stats of lower tier armor schematics and higher tier ones. The stats should be a different component then the aesthetics. So you should craft the stats then make the appearance. That way they can also make it so the color isn't tied to the stats either.

I would like to finish by saying that even with that frustration and disappointment I still think this is a major rebound from the 2nd game! All in all a fantastic and very replayable game! Congratulations on the home run bioware!
